Absolutely Appalling

I purchased from Big W online an item for my son for Christmas. It has turned up today in a very used condition. Scuffed and marked all over with a black sticky substance all over the wheels (it is a push toy in the form of a duck that waddles). There was hair tangled around one of the wheels as well. Absolutely disgusting!

Delayed delivery

Purchased a single dog lead on Big W Market Place, it’s been 16 days and yet to be shipped. Customer service was not helpful - gave an excuse. I’ve requested a refund. Strongly discouraged the use of this service for anyone considering making a purchase.

Review is for big w market place - Poor

Review is for big w market place. Bought a pair of hoka during Black Friday sale, it said the estimated shipping was in 7 business days. It’s now a week later and still not dispatched. I get its Christmas and volumes are high but don’t advertise something if you can’t keep to the timing. Other suppliers are busy too - you normally get an Aust post / courier update within 2 business days. It’s really poor.
When you reach out to customer service all they say is that it’s coming with no ETA. Useless.

Don’t waste your time or money

Order was never delivered as I was advised “lost in transit’. Tracking page says still in depot 5km from my house. Refund requested and still nothing, no product and no refund and told I have to wait for big w to get a RTS notification from their own delivery company before they can refund my money….weeks later and still nothing…Pretty sure this breaches consumer rights

Difficult returns and slow delivery

Poor transparency around item purchase and return for marketplace items.
Can't return items to store.
Have to pay for postage.
Very slow delivery with the company not taking any responsibility for that.

In stock when it's not

I just wasted petrol and 2 hrs driving around to 3 stores that said it was in stock on their websites when there was none at any stores....I found out that their orders were meant to come in 15 weeks ago, and they were showing up as delivered, when in actual fact none of the stores had received them.....what an absolute joke big w is!!!

Shelf pricing at the Richmond NSW store…

Shelf pricing at the Richmond NSW store stated $85 however the actual product was over $200. When challenged the apparent store manager was extremely rude, did not introduce herself or wish to discuss the matter.

Worst service I have had in that store.

Products listed as in stock but they are actually out of stock

They list items online as in stock, even send you updates saying that the item has been processed and is out for delivery and then 3 and a half weeks later when you contact them asking for an update, they tell you that the item was out of stock. Absolutely useless. Maybe if they focused more on providing products than being woke they wouldn’t have this issue. How come other companies are able to manage, but this company that has ACTUAL businesses located in Australia fails each and every single time? Absolutely ridiculous and they wonder why they are losing customers to Amazon. Absolutely frustrating.

I ordered 6 Vitapet duck treat packets…

I ordered 6 Vitapet duck treat packets for my dogs on Black Friday. Priced at $10.20 each, normal price $17! I paid $61.20 off my Visa card. Two days later I get an email notifying me that Big W refused my order and is refunding the $61.20, without giving a proper reason as to why this transaction was declined. After not being able to get them in 2 Big W stores, I couldn't even get them online -- and Sunshine Plaza had 24 packets showing in stock! Good reason to avoid Big W from now on!

Great customer service

I recently ordered 2 Replica perfumes on Big W marketplace before I read the reviews. My order was delivered to a post office nowhere near where I live and I had paid for postage to my home address. The customer service I received to track down my perfume was fantastic - the person (Mary) that I dealt with kept me updated every couples of day. I received my perfumes a couple of weeks after due date but their customer support great. I would have no hesitation in ordering again.

Ripped

Big w has separate payment areas and if u want to pay all shop products with a staff discount, u can not pay unless u pay in the department area u shop in. Which means no staff discount at all departments. Only the department u use it in. Pathetic. What ever happened to communication or saved transactions or perhaps product escorts to the area of payment. This is not good enough and it's not right. Let alone the customers who have one item in a little cosmetic area and u have to pay ur whole trolley load in the cosmetic department. Customers have to wait and staff can not get a full product discount from throughout store. Ripped.

I bought a contempt pedestal fan it…

I bought a contempt pedestal fan it arrived yesterday.
It was packaged and mailed out without the blades safety screw, so quality control was a failure.
The box arrived undamaged so it is not the issue. I tried to email them it bounced back I went on their useless chat bot Dot who dragged me around the system. Then Christopher says I need to take it back to the store with a receipt. When I say I cannot it's 1.5 hours away. He says he needs photo's it is new less than 24 hours old, I still have the packaging. But my phone camera doesn't work so he says can't help? Well I had a stroke in June can't drive, own a basic phone camera not working and live 1 1/2 hours from the nearest Big W. I bought this is good faith fuel costs are, my exhausted wife cares for me and works all week. When she is home she doesn't want a 3 hour return trip to return brand new items?? So if it is going back and it is going to cost us so much in time and fuel I am going to complain all over the net!!!!! I bought it in good faith, they"ve had my money for over a week and I got 5 star rated rubbish!

No accessibility proves costly

One hour after ordering a small camping fridge, we realised we ordered the wrong one and we tried to cancel it.
For 3 days we left messages, put up with brainless chat bots and sent more messages but there was no response.
When they transferred me to a human, it wasn't a real person and the big W bot, three times, said I had timed out after 15 mins.

The item we bought by mistake didn't have to leave the factory, if there had been a feedback facility or phone service.
Big W marketing cost us $100 to post back the item. This is to warn other potential shoppers that big W marketing gets zero out of 10 for accessibility and customer service.

Ni changing rioms kwinana…

I was at the Kwinana store to buy some work pants. Only to be told that changing rooms have been permanantly shut down. Only way to check fitting is to buy them, go to the mall toilets, try them on, get refund, repeat with other styles/sizes. Then repeat the process😡
I was not in a position to make purchase & try them on at home, them come back to refund. nor do I have the time.
I understand this was head office desicion

Only giving one star as I can't give zero. My daughter purchased her first lounge on Big W Market place, paid over $400 for delivery to ACT. Delivery people refuse to carry lounge into apartment, not even to the foyer so will leave lounge out the front for a 50kg young girl to carry despite exorbitant delivery fee. There is nothing stating this on the Big W website and after conversations /emails with them, they said it's on the lounge company and basically you need to find them online and read their policy. Never purchase from them, the most ridiculous, incompetent company I've dealt with. So upset with how they have ripped my daughter off and treated her.

purchased an outdoor setting from big W
Because it was big W I felt confident and trusted the brand
Did I know that the words marketplace after big W mean it’s not their brand
As a first time purchaser, I was unaware of this
In the meantime, lots of haters on Facebook have whipped up a frenzy over me being so ignorant as to not know this
Well, I didn’t and having given them explicit instructions on how to deliver it they use couriers please
Half of the delivery arrived three days earlier than expected except they left it at a reception place
when I start searching for the parcel which I’ve been notified by email has been delivered it takes three days to find it
Then I have to move it from reception about 500 steps to my apartment . Just not good enough.
Then on opening the parcels and checking that all the pieces of this flat pack are there there are screws washers and bolts missing
So off to Bunnings to buy the appropriate hopefully ones needed an extra expense a 34 km trip why?
The receptionist at BW is exceptionally helpful and tries her best to remedy the situation
This is not the big W. I thought I was trusting to buy an expensive outdoor setting from.
