Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service. Dave gave excellent advice and we left with 2 pairs of walking boots and a further pair on order. Would highly recommend Blacks at Castleford.

Went in to get some new walking boots. Mike was very helpful and knowledgeable on the the different boots and their different features. He was helpful without being overbearing or pushy.

Charlie was very helpful and answered all my questions. He didn’t rush my decision and helped me learn how to waterproof my shoes. Shoes were high quality and gray price. I highly recommend Black’s!

The dude with the ginger beard (sorry cannot remember his name) helped me choose a coat, fleece and walking socks. Third time I’ve bought clothing from them. Very helpful staff, great shop.

I purchased a coat for my daughter and got the wrong size, I rung the store and Olivia sorted everything for me to get one from another store, really helpful staff!

Visited blacks recently to buy a waterproof jacket for hiking. Liv helped me go through the number of different options and the benefits of each, her knowledge of all of the different options and technical specifications was amazing, really made the decision making easy! Thank you 😊

I needed a replacement tent pole, quite urgently so enquired at Blacks after going to other places, who couldn’t help. Dave assisted me immediately and went out of his way to find a replacement. He offered to fix it for me as well, which I wasn’t expecting and gave me a spare. He did not charge me for the parts or service and went above and beyond. Dave clearly has excellent customer service and expertise. He really helped me out.

Needed a coat as I was going away the following day. Served by Charlotte C who was really helpful, professional and polite. Really wanted a berghaus jacket but didn't have it in my size. Apologised as all they had was out on the shop floor, called around other stores to see if they had it in stock, she then double checked the rail only to find an XL that had been put on the wring hanger size. Apologies again as she said they should have been on the right hanger.. I was like, everything for a reason and thanked her for looking again. Really pleased with my purchase and the helpfulness of Charlotte. I wouldn't have checked the hangers and would have just left without ordering the jacket. Charlotte also has great customer and product knowledge and relayed to me about Berghaus lifetime guarantee and how to contact them should I need anything.
All in all perfect transaction from start to finish. I asked Charlotte how best to leave feedback and she gave me a little card. Hence this review

Mike was extremely helpful when it came to finding me a pair of shoes. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Amazing customer service.

We went into Blacks, having been ignored in a couple of other nearby stores, looking for walking shoes/boots. Mike was very helpful, suggesting various options without being pushy. His product knowledge was extensive including which socks to choose with the footwear we purchased. Will definitely return for future purchases. Thank you Mike.

Went into the store at Junction 32 looking for some walking shoes and advice on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. The store assistant that helped was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided since great recommendations.

My husband and I visited the Castleford store today at junction 32. We were very impressed with the staff (both Dave the manager and the assistant) who were extremely helpful and pleasant .My husband found some Brasher walking trousers which were exactly what he wanted. There is a great choice of good quality products.

The young man that helped me choose suitable hiking boots was patient and kind and the prices were excellent too . Great store will definitely return.

Looking for a pair of good all round use boots and found a pair in here. Dave, the person who served me, was spot on. Not pushy but let me know he was there to help. When I called him over, he was polite and knowledgeable. The young lady who finalised the sale was also great. Thank you for making shopping easy.

Liv was very helpful in explaining the various aspects of the Rab coat that we were interested in. She demonstrated the folding of the lady’s microlight into the small Rab carry bag. Very patient and pleasant. Thanks.

Blacks at Castleford is always the first shop we try for any outdoor clothes and equipment. The staff are invariably very knowledgeable and friendly, and there is plenty of choice because the shop is so well-stocked. Thank you Liv for all your help and advice today.
