staff were very helpful. i asked about children's sleeping bags as I couldn't see any on the shelves. They checked the online stock of pod sleeping bags for me. Ordered 2 on Friday morning, in store and they arrived at my home 10.00am Saturday morning. Great service!

I went into blacks looking to buy a waterproof jacket to use for the Yorkshire three peaks. I was attended by Liv who had excellent product knowledge and gave me a range of options to choose from. Liv was incredibly helpful and gave me great advice. Even though the jacket I wanted was not in my size in-store, she was able to order it online and price match it for me. Very happy with my experience!

Staff were prepared to check new delivery for items we wanted. The manageress was very knowledgeable about products but not a pushy salesperson.

Went into Castleford Blacks and was welcomed by Liv who was exceptional. She not only listened to my needs, but advised and taught me more about camping and other products around the store to have a successful trip. Give this girl a pay rise! Couldn’t recommend anyone better. Thanks Liv!x

Went to Black's today to buy a new jacket. I was attended to by 2 young ladies who know their stuff. Both Liv and Charlotte's product knowledge was exceptional asking great questions to narrow down which products would be suitable for me. They were very friendly, polite and a real credit to Blacks! Even showing me how to make a pillow out of the jacket, as well as explaining the attributes of each jacket and there individual properties. Very pleased with my new purchase and the shopping experience today.

A great shopping experience at Blacks at Junction 32, Glasshoughton, Castleford on Saturday 12 August. Very experienced staff who certainly know their products and are able to give sound advice as to what's best to buy to suit your needs. I don’t usually write many reviews, but I was so impressed with my recent blacks purchase. I was in store looking for a specific coat, which they didn’t have so I was trying some alternatives.

One of the shop assistants gave me a recommendation for a coat they have, which sadly wasn’t in store in my size. They provided an alternative colour in my size so I could try it on, then ordered it from their website to my home address, including price matching it to the store price.

They advised it could be a few working days for the delivery to arrive, however it came the next working day which I was so pleased about as I needed it for the weekend. Wouldn’t hesitate to use blacks again.

Visited Blacks store at Junction 32 at Glasshought/Castleford. Have been looking for new hiking boots for ages. Finally got them here! Served by Michael. Very knowledgeable guy + super helpful. Not pushy. Understood my particular requirements + gave excellent advice. He certainly knows his stuff. Would recommend him and Black's to anyone. Great experience. Made even better by Caravan + Motorhome discount! Shame the store isn't bigger so it could carry more stock although Michael mentioned I could order into the store which I might do next time.

Super service in the store, the coat looks great, though not worn yet. It was delivered the next day and the courier’s service was excellent.

Called into our blacks store at j32 Castleford, quite a small store but packed with really nice gear and all of the staff are very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable.
This is my first choice store for branded outdoor clothing.

I was looking for a pair of waterproof walking shoes preferably with Goretex finish and having previously had a pair of Merrell shoes that was my first choice.
The assistant I asked for help choosing was Charlotte, she was very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the different waterproofing, soles and arch supports on the range of shoes in store, I would definitely recommend this store for a great range of products.

Outstanding customer service from Liv. From a good range of products, we purchased a number of items (boots, rucksacks, trousers & jacket). Liv was very helpful and never pushy meaning we will return for future purchases.

Came here to find my first pair of walking boots. Olivia was extremely knowledgeable. She knew exactly what I would need and listened to what I was using them for. Great customer service couldn’t have asked for an easier experience. Thanks Olivia!

I had an issue with an online order when it arrived. I called in to store to see if there was anything they could do to help and Charlotte, I have to say went above and beyond to sort my issue. Had a good chat with Connor, a very knowledgeable and friendly member of staff while Charlotte sorted my issue.

Bought a pair of Merrell shoes today and was impressed by your staff member Liv who was very patient and had great product knowledge. Overall a positive experience.

Fantastic customer service to rectify an issue from Ultimate Outdoors. Even helped load our tent into the car.
