I went in to buy a jacket with various requirements in mind. The woman I first spoke to showed me a £160 Gore-Tex jacket. I asked if fluorocarbons were still acceptable. She rolled her eyes. She showed me to 3 racks of jackets but didn't bother to point out (or look for) ones that met my requirements. She spent about a minute with me... not that there were any other customers in the shop, but 2 other members of staff!
Anyway, I bought a much cheaper jacket that I'm fairly satisfied with and a few other cheap bits.

Great customer service

Staff at the IOW store are always helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I purchased a pair of boots. Thank you to Ollie and Sue for great customer service.

I was served by Sue prior to Christmas at the Newport IOW Branch. Sur was very helpful in helping us find what we were after for my son who is a Scout. Polite, courteous & knowledgeable on the brands pros & cons.

Michelle at Newport, IOW

I was recently visiting the Isle of Wight, and had forgotten to bring my thermals!
Thankfully after a quick online search I found Blacks (Newport).
I was helped by a lovely lady called Michelle, who knew exactly what I was after and helped tremendously.
She was both friendly and professional, she is a true asset to the store.

Always helpful

My husband is nearly blind,and Blacks is his favourite shop,we get most of his clothes and footwear in our shop in Newport,the staff are very helpful, especially Michelle who has been there years now and finds just what he needs

Great staff, availability of stock, fair prices!

First of all, every member of staff that served me were extremely helpful, kind and knowledgeable on all the clothing and equipment I wanted to know about. I was served by Michelle, she was lovely; friendly, approachable and had all the answers to my questions.

They also had a good range of boots and shoes, from different brands and styles.

And the pricing was fair, with sale items being clear and eye catching, and good range from cheaper, entry-level items, to more expensive and premium. It had everything I was looking for and more!
