Disaster

Disaster. Would not recommend. Stay away!! Went in for appointment at 11am. Was waiting around until 6pm today. Asked for an update at 2pm I was told they were waiting on technician to review. I looked for another update at 3pm to be told that they needed another 3hrs to work on it....I said give me my car back I'm done. They tried to charge me 280eu for work done I said no way what work, 2pm update they were waiting on technician. And 3pm update the technician had 2hrs work done, didn't add up. So then they dropped the price to 130eu. The idea that they were going to continue charging me by the hour for another 3hrs without my permission. I spoke with the manager he said if u give us permission to continue working we might find the issue or we might not!! What kind of show is this!! And in the end I agreed to go ahead hoping they would get it sorted. Magically 6pm closing time my car is ready, and the report said it was the j17 body the part would cost 700eu and at that it may/may not fix the boot. Honestly I've never come across anything like it. And they charged me 300eu for this inconclusive diagnostic report. Gangsters.

Unnecessary charges - ripped off

I recently got a service and was told I’d have to replace the light console for €500. I put a deposit down (€250) on the part and paid the service fee (€250 for a basic service) and went out to the car to go home. The light was working perfectly with no issues. I showed the team and they refunded me the deposit and apologised.

Less than five minutes later, I got a call saying they had actually replaced the part and I’d have to come back and pay the full amount. On the way back to the garage, they called again and said actually it wasn’t replaced. I understand they have new staff members but genuinely felt ripped off.

Personally I’d be wary of the recommendations provided as they seem to be very keen to upsell unnecessary items and weren’t even clear internally what was completed to the car. Would not return.

AVOID!

Booked my car in for a service and opted to wait on site for it. They promised my car would be ready almost 2 hours ago and I’m still waiting. Atrocious service - avoid if you can.

I sought a quotation for a new Golf…

I sought a quotation for a new Golf R-line yesterday. After giving details of my requirements and some e-mail exchanges a more on asked me for my Eircode. He then replied that I had come a long way to buy a car! It amazes me as this was a straight purchase with no trade-in! Not recommended!

AVOID for your sanity

Without ANY doubt the single most useless main dealer in Cork. Please be warned. No problem selling you a vehicle but their after sales service is the WORST I've experienced in 40 years of motoring. Unfortunately, I've discovered too late that it's the same for everyone and not just me. Absolutely pathetic. Queues of people complaining, vehicles riddled with faults, they will book you in and do nothing and ask you to come back again and again and again. The management there are totally useless and leave it to the counter staff to pick up the pieces. The owner should be ashamed. I've contacted VW Ireland who I'm pretty sure know what a joke this "dealer" actually is.

ommunication

I made an appointment to bring my newly-purchased VW in for an oil change and general once-over. Arrived at 8:30 and was assured that it would be done in 3-4 hours. Heard nothing for 5 hours so returned (by bus - it is my only car) to learn that due to miscommunication, it had not been touched until noon of that day. Sat around for 2 hours until they completed it. No apology or explanation. They need to improve their processes. To be fair, the comprehensive car service was completed but it didn't feel like they were very concerned with customer satisfaction.

Amazing service Anne in Forge Hill…

Amazing service Anne in Forge Hill couldn’t do enough for you. Kept me informed the day before that my rental car wouldn’t be ready at the top of drop of I’d have to wait a little while. On the morning of the service she said she’d try her best to have the car ready so I wouldn’t even need the rental to get to work, made tea and honestly was just such a lovely, helpful lady. Have had many a service here and got the car here too two years ago now and have to say they keep you in the loop with any work and cost before doing it so there are no surprises. Very good service.

Customer Service

Had a terrible experience with the person on reception today. I rang to query an update on my car. I received a text message to say it would be ready for collection @3pm. As I had paid €50 for a collection service I was unsure what was happening. I was put me on hold and she tried to reach the service desk for me. She was unable to do so and said they would call me back. A short while later I receive a call back from the same staff member and she said I got a message an hour again and the car could be collected at 3pm. I said that my car was collected and that’s why I was contacting her. I asked if she could ask the service dept when I could expect my car. I knew the car was serviced since noon. She refused so I asked to speak with a manager and she disconnected my call. I’ve been buying cars from blackwater motors for nearly 10 years but after today never again! Terrible customer service!

Ivan top sales man!!

Bought a new Tiguan from Ivan in forge hill today absolute gent to deal with nothing was too trouble at all from the first phone call Ivan took care of everything top man to deal with credit to the business top sales man looking forward to doing business in the future 👌👌😊

8 month old VW Polo lost all electrics…

8 month old VW Polo lost all electrics and had to be towed to Forge Hill VW Main Dealer. Serviced here recently as I bought the car here last year. It's been a full week now and the fault hasn't even been diagnosed... Any time you ring you're told they're too busy to look at the car and can't give you a date when it will be looked at, let alone fixed! Told they have over 30 cars ahead of me in the queue and I just have to wait. My daughter missed her driving test appointment and we lost our fee for that too because I had hoped to get the car back in time. Receptionist was very arrogant and rude each time I rang and they never give you a call back. Wish I read reviews of Blackwater before I bought the car there, never again!

Absolutely vile experience

Absolutely vile experience. Booked car in for work to be done a few weeks ago, rearranged work to accommodate and left car for the day, came collected it..weeks later they rang and said it wasn’t done and I need to book it in again and when asked why not? ‘It just wasn’t’ was the reply. Booked in again to get the work done,’courtesy’car is €50 which should have been said at the time of booking and to be told ready at lunchtime then to be told it will need to be kept overnight and they’ll throw in the €50 car for my trouble. Absolutely not. No communication or updates. When you arrive to pick up your car be prepared to wait for an hour even though your told 2 mins. If you need work done there are other VW garages that I would strongly advise using them and avoid Forge Hill

I sold my VW after how I was treated in Blackwater motors forge hill .Will never buy another . A young cheeky desk manager refused me to speak to anyone else after changing the rear breaks instead of the front on return visit after neglecting to check them during annual service . Disgraceful and insulting attitude to lifelong customer .

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service
I was left severely disappointed by this garage at Forge Hill having called there after experiencing issues with my car while 2 hours from home. I called here as they are VW main dealers and I had recently had a full service in one of their garages. I was advised that they were too busy to have a look and advise if the car was safe to drive while awaiting an appointment.
Luckily I was accommodated at another renowned garage nearby who discovered upon a quick inspection that there was a large bulge in the tyre which was extremely unsafe to drive on. They were amazed that I had got as far as I did and had me back on the road within an hour. I won’t be dealing with this garage again and likely will not buy VW after this experience. Appalling customer service.

Extremely unprofessional

Extremely unprofessional. Brought my car in for an oil service and was told to collect it at 5.30. I arrived back at that time only to see my car being rallied out of the carpark, it came flying back in then a few minutes later on the wrong side of the road and barely in control! All in rush hour traffic! Absolutely avoid this place, especially if you have a performance car. I'll be going somewhere reputable from now on that will respect my property.

Worst company to deal with rang for…

Worst company to deal with rang for service on my van in August told it would be end of September and a cost of €350 I said I had a service plan and was told no cost
On picking up the van I was informed it was the 4th service and not included in my plan which I am still paying for and I would have to pay €355 I protested this and was brought into a office to be told work was done and needed paying for with no sign of getting my van back (I had no bank card on me as I wasn’t expecting to pay) I eventually rang my wife who paid over the phone to release my van.
Now we have purchased 5 brand new cars and the van from this company since 2007 and I was about to trade in this van for a new one but honestly this is shocking service from this company and I will never deal with you again.
Shocking and embarrassing experience
The sooner vw distance themselves from blackwater motors the more vehicles they will sell in cork
