I adopted a pony from the Burford Rehoming centre last week. I now how’ve the most wonderful new addition who has settled perfectly. Huge thanks to lauren, susie, and Julia at the centre for all your help. The whole process was made so easy for me and emails and calls were answered promptly and all questions answered. I’m looking forward to my adventures with Chameau. Thank you for letting me have him ❤️.

The application process was very thorough which is great & what you would expect. I was given very detailed information about the kittens I adopted including all their health treatments plus when they are due for continued treatments.

We wanted to adopt a rescue cat following the death of our 15yo cat. We looked at various web pages and found a potential cat on the Bluecross website. The process was easy to understand, with a telephone interview start. With us, not the cat. A visit was arranged so we could interact and see how we got on. Finally a pickup date was arranged.
Bluecross provided plenty of information including health report, 4 weeks insurance, behaviour report and guidance.
The staff were pleasant and efficient and careful. We now have a happy and contented new family member.

Sarah and Grace arrived at my home in Devon where Sarah made it the easiest of catching my nervous cat Teasel. The job was done quickly, painless and stress free. Although I know Teasel was not too happy! I want to thank Sarah, Blue Cross and your foster carers for an amazing job you all do. I will donate something and wish you all the best for the future in all your endeavours for animal welfare. Thank you. Liz Parkes

We had been looking on the Blue Cross and other animal charities for sometime and then we found our perfect pup - Potato (now Gabriel).
The staff at the Devon Rehoming Center made the adoption process so enjoyable, straight forward and were also very kind and supportive.
We can’t fault this wonderful charity and the work that they do.
Thank you for making our doggie dreams come true :)

My dog Nelly was spayed at Blue Cross Victoria on 27 May 2025. She was sent home still bleeding from the vulva, lethargic, vomiting, and with no antibiotics despite signs of infection being noted during surgery. They suspected pyometra but I was never informed of this at discharge but some 10 days later.
Over the following days, Nelly remained very unwell: barely eating or drinking, constantly sleeping, running a high temperature and very weak and straining to urinate. I contacted the Blue Cross multiple times and received little to no support. When I brought her back on 6th June for her stitch removal and raised serious concerns, the vet dismissed them and again refused antibiotics unless I provided a urine sample despite her clear signs of illness.
I submitted first urine sample, which they left in the fridge and forgot about. They later admitted it wasn’t tested in time and requested another, delaying her treatment even further. When the second sample was finally tested, it showed blood, bacteria, and white blood cells yet still no one contacted me with the results. I had to chase them eight days later and then wait five hours for a vet to call me back.
It took three weeks from surgery before antibiotics were finally prescribed. By then, Nelly had suffered needlessly and could have died. Throughout this ordeal, communication was poor, the follow-up care non-existent, and the attitude dismissive. One vet even told me they were too busy to talk to me o the phone and pushed for yet another paid consultation even though nothing was done at the last one and we had paid £300 to them already.
Blue Cross may claim to be a charity, but in my experience, their priorities lie in profit over pet welfare. I wouldn’t trust them again. Nelly was let down badly and what she endured was completely avoidable.

The staff at this rehoming centre are so friendly and helpful. On our first visit we arranged to see two cats with a view to adoption. Jess was brilliant, making us aware of their history and potential issues we may have while they settle in. The two cats are delightful. We arranged a second visit to collect them to take them home. Jess was efficient with all the paperwork for adoption and we are so pleased with the whole process. This is a lovely rehoming centre where the animals are well cared for while they await adoption. Our thanks, also, to Hannah who was our first point of contact by email and phone. Also thanks to all the staff at Bromsgrove who make adoption a straightforward and satisfying process.

I lost my cat in April 2025. I've always had pet cats. I went on website of Bluecross and saw Lola. From my first enquiry to actually bringing her home, the team at Burford have been helpful, informative, professional and above all caring. Thank you for my little girl. My home is complete again with a fur baby.

One year on since adopting Maggie May in June 2024, Blue Cross at Bromsgrove are still happy to provide advice and support if needed. The staff are warm, friendly and obviously care passionately for all the animals in their care.

My experience with the blue cross rehoming centre was amazing, they were so quick, kind and gentle ensuring a smooth transition for my lovely hamster Eevee. I couldn't recommend them more to adopt an animal in need of a home, if I ever adopt again I will surely go back to them, this experience was overwhelmingly positive.

Our two dogs were adopted yesterday by a lovely couple from Lincolnshire! We have already received a photograph from them via Sarah at Blue Cross in Exeter, and it has warmed our hearts. We feel absolutely confident that Blue Cross have found them the perfect home, with people who will love them as we love them, and that they will have a wonderful life with their new owners.
Sarah and Jess at Blue Cross in Exeter were wonderful throughout the process, which was thorough and efficient whilst at the same time extremely caring and considerate of the difficult decision we were making.
I cannot recommend their services highly enough to anyone in the same situation as we have found ourselves. Thank you.

We could not have asked for better service from Blue Cross. From first enquiry to final adoption we were kept fully informed and constantly in touch. It was clear that the team at Ipswich Blue Cross were fully commited to the animals and owners.
We adopted an inseparable pair for little dogs who have settled in happily and enriched our lives.

We adopted 2 dogs yesterday & travelled from Lincolnshire to Exeter on the hottest day of the year to collect them. Given the circumstances they opened early for us & we met our dogs and brought them back the same day. Aircon on full blast. The handover was brilliant and we were given so much useful information & time with the girls. The staff were amazing & gave us clear directions when we couldn’t find it! The only thing that perhaps could improve the experience would be a picture of the Volvo garage sign where you turn to prospective adopters/visitors to help them find the site or written instructions as the postcode dosn’t quite get you there. Apart from that we would highly recommend Blue Cross.

I was looking for another pony to foster having lost the last pony I adopted from Blue Cross over a year ago. I had Bob my previous pony over 10 years and was missing him dreadfully.
I saw two Shetland Ponies who were pair bonded and 19 years old and thought they would be perfect for me.
Susie sent me all their details and arranged for me to meet them on the foster yard they were being cared for. They were absolutely perfect and just what I had hoped for.
The re-homing process went well and I am delighted with my two "boys"
I look forward to many happy years together.
Thank you Blue Cross for all you do!

I'm not one for reviewing usually, but on this occasion I just had to as Blue Cross (and the fosterer Wendy) made everything so easy and a joyful experience!
First off, the response time to me submitting an application for a cat was very short. From then, we were easily able to meet the cat and ask any questions we had.
Wendy sent through tonnes of information, which made me feel reassured that there was nothing being withheld. When we met the cat she also showed some of the things she has been doing / trying with him (as he was a stray before).
Finally, when we adopted him, all the information was clear and the documents were sent to me quickly!

From the first contact, everyone was so helpful, caring and knowledgeable of the animals they care for.It was like visiting friends.
The centre was a lot bigger than I expected it to be ,so the team have a lot to do,but that didn't stop them from taking time to explain everything.
I would definitely recommend the Blue Cross ,Burford centre to anyone who was looking to adopt a pet.
