I have been a customer of Bluehost for over a year, mainly for student projects, but I am absolutely appalled by their recent billing practices.
I was hit with a surprise invoice of over €110 for just two domain renewals. They charged nearly €90 for a single .com domain renewal. This is over 500% above the market average. This is nothing short of predatory pricing, clearly designed to trap customers who don't expect such an extreme hike after the initial period.
Furthermore, they charged me for a domain for which I had explicitly disabled the auto-renewal setting. They ignored my manual cancellation and processed the payment anyway. This is a textbook example of "Dark Nudging", making it easy to sign up but intentionally difficult to opt-out.

New website logins & experiences are good—fast and smooth experience. However, the chat support is extremely disappointing (2/10) and far too slow to be useful in critical situations.
Please introduce reliable customer support via calls. The current delays are unacceptable—especially when dealing with production issues where every minute matters. Earlier, Bluehost India support was quick, responsive, and transparent—we always knew what was happening.
Waiting 24–72 hours for resolution is simply not practical. This directly impacts business operations, increases downtime, and creates unnecessary stress. If this continues, it will lead to serious customer dissatisfaction and eventual loss of customers.
Strongly recommend prioritizing faster response times, real-time support (calls), and better communication to match industry expectations.

I had the please of having a representative who knew what was needed and she helped me with finding a voucher that I couldn't find to use towards my selection of a domain. She was also helpful by asking if I would like her to set it up. Every request that I asked for she was on point with it and this process took away a lot of frustration from. So appreciative of this type of customer service.

The customer service was terrible. I was told that I have limited tech support because I only have a domain and not a hosting plan to be able to get full tech support. I asked to see where it states that on the website and no one would give me such info. They just kept telling me that I have to reach out to tech via the website. I've never had such poor service from Bluehost before, but after today I know I will be transferring my services to someone else.

I am a novice user and have been a client of Blue Host for a number of years. As a novice, occasionally I run into issues that I cannot resolve. The support at Blue Host is expeditious, knowledgeable, understandable and friendly. They have been wonderful to work with.

Dreadful experience.
I chased an issue regarding a confirmed refund multiple times via live chat and email and got absolutely nowhere. I contacted them through several different emails, none of which received any response. On three separate occasions, agents told me the issue had been “escalated to a manager” and that they would personally follow up to ensure resolution. Each time, nothing happened. Eventually, the case was simply closed without resolution and without my consent.
No meaningful responses, no accountability — just empty assurances.
What makes this worse is that Bluehost themselves confirmed a refund was due and even issued a partial payment. I have written confirmation of all of this. Despite that, they failed to complete the refund and ignored all further attempts to resolve it.
To make matters worse, my original three-year hosting plan has effectively been reduced to two years following this, meaning I am now paying more for less service.
I’ve been a customer for over 10 years, which makes the way this has been handled even more disappointing. I’ve now escalated this formally with my bank and am prepared to take it further if necessary. This has turned into a completely unnecessary and time-consuming process over something that should have been straightforward.
They acknowledged the refund, partially paid it, and then ignored the rest — along with the customer — seemingly hoping the issue would just go away.
I have completely lost trust in Bluehost as a hosting provider. Avoid at all costs.

I would give it less than 1 star if I could. Absolutely horrible customer service and no care or consideration for the customers that use their services. After realizing I had encountered an affiliate marketer of theirs scamming their customers, I reported all the information to their customer service and affiliate department. I did a bunch of searching for information on the affiliate to realize they had been scamming people and getting access to their credentials in their account for almost 5 years. This information presented to both departments didn’t even make them care as to how many people have possibly been affected over that time period or possibly had identity theft happen to them. I was told it would get escalated to a higher up manager. I never heard from either department ever again. I tried to cancel my plan but was told that I couldn’t be refunded the domain even though my personal information was now jeopardized. I ate the cost of it for the year and will never go back or recommend anyone to use them ever. If anyone is reading this, beware - they prioritize revenue over customer safety/ satisfaction. 0 stars if I could
