I spent several hours and numerous calls this morning trying to register my online banking account. After I finally established it, I conducted my business and logged out. In the afternoon, I tried to... See more

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Extremely long deposit holds even when you see your current balance has updated. I reached out about it and still have not been helped even though a customer advocacy person contacted me one time. Still have not been helped and I reached out to that person twice. Do not bank here! I’m saving you from a mistake and headache
Fraud Department Woes
Even though I've signed up for mobile "suspected fraud" alerts on more than one occasion, they don't contact me. By the time something gets declined and I figure it out, there are multiple problems to fix. The latest was an Amazona "Subscribe and Save" of the same, exact things I've been getting every month for nearly a year now. Then, when I call in the wait time is usually over thirty minutes. I have to call on something stupid more than once a month. They screw it up and then they do not have the personnel to assist.
Total grifters
Total grifters. They will sneak fees into your banking services and never tell you about them. You have to be on constant guard and go through hours and hours of escalations in order to get anything done. Not worth the stress and anxiety of knowing your money could be stolen at any time.
went into the bank BMO
Went to the Bank this morning to get back online and the bank officer was wonderful. she worked for the bank of the west before BMO took over and she was respectful and patient. The people who actually work in the bank had worked for Bank of the west and they are wonderful.
THE TRUTH ABOUT BMO
dogwater bank, my mom worked for over 40+ years and she constantly said they screwed people over before they hit retirement they cut you short so you dont get your full pention.. thankfully she knew their dirty tricks and left two years prior so they couldnt do it to her. After she left she saw 2 of her old colleagues get the boot right before their full pention... disgusting practice. Also they constantly up their quotas year by year to the point where their workers are having to basically panhandle unwanted "products" down your throat to keep their job
If I had a negative 10 i would put it
If I had a negative 10 i would put it. Sent a 50k cheque that has not delivered and they are not calling me back. The worst bank that exists by a mile. I have no idea what a joke customer service they have.
Highly recommend that you not deal with BMO
I held a mortgage with BMO. All was in good standing and the mortgage was paid off (with a huge penalty taken by BMO) when the property was sold. I have two credit cards in good standing. Without any notification whatsoever, my credit limit dropped from 39k to $500. No reason given. Their credit card support is all off shore and offer poor service. Highly recommend staying away from BMO.
AWFUL AND UNCARING
These losers sent us a bill clearly indicating our account is paid, nothing outstanding etc. Due in WEEKS. yet they keep freaking calling. I just got out of the hospital and this ridiculous company keeps waking me up at 0800 because they're too stupid to check their own paperwork. I deserve to be able to heal without a bank HARASSING ME FOR NO REASON WHEN IVE ALREADY PAID MY MINIMUM PAYMENT. This should be illegal. As soon as we're done paying we're leaving and encouraging people not to use BMO. this is not the first problem we've had. They don't even pretend to care about their clients.
They need to be shut down at this point...
I was supposed to receive my paycheck from work the other day. Time hit for the money to arrive and I open my BMO app to see no money hit my account. Went to the bank to see what was the issue, they tell me that my bank account was closed?!? for NO reason, I was using the bank account perfectly fine then poof! my account is gone and they say my money will be returned to my work. WHEN?! Everyday I have anxiety seeing my money being eaten out my account everyday over One transaction, saying I "used up all my transactions", when i have UNLIMITED transactions! I have never seen another bank do this nonsense. My sister just opened a account the other day with BMO, they already shut down her account today! again for NO REASON and we called and they dont seem to know the reason either. Customer service over the phone is no help either with anything, they act like youre being a burden on them just for asking questions about YOUR MONEY! After today im shutting down any accounts with BMO and moving all my business somewhere. I suggest anyone else with BMO do the same too.
Tried cashing my paycheque for the…
Tried cashing my paycheque for the second time, this time using the app, tell me why they wanted to hold the funds for (14 days) said I'd have to go into a branch to have the money released. I did the next day. Two days later the app isn't allowing me to use the remainder of my money. Called Customer service and the were rude and completely useless. Kept saying I have to go back into the bank again, second time in less than a week and couldn't tell me why and rudely hung up the call. Almost 10 years with TD n never such petty non sense. Never again! When I go back I'm cleaning out the account and closing it down.
Bmo does not care about their customers…
Bmo does not care about their customers I had a charge on my account that a company didn't give me service for they switched me to their escalation team Marissa was rude and condescending they told me I have to wait up to 45 days. For 25.00 so Ridiculous the banker that switched me to their escalation team gave me wrong information said they could override it then also said it would only 10 days I will be going to another bank that cares about my business
Have unauthorized amounts being taken…
Have unauthorized amounts being taken out of my account and are fraudulent. Called 3 times and been hung up on. That's what you get when you hand over your call center customer service to another country that don't care about a company's reputation. Cutting corners with customer service to save a few bucks and possibly put your customers privacy security at risk.
They'll close your account for no reason
They'll close your account without giving you any reason.
You could bank with them for 20+ years, have excellent credit, have multiple credit cards and personal lines of credit with a combined available credit of over $100k, no defaults, nothing owing, used sparingly and responsibly, and none of this history matters.
Just a letter in the mail saying you have to close your account by a specific date.
BMO will never match the bigger competition. They don't know how to keep good clients.
I would not recommend them to anyone, and in fact warn anybody considering banking with them.
Worst banking experience
Worst banking experience. I am international student waiting for my first GIC installment it's more than 10 days since I opened my account still waiting for money. When you call them then they can't talk to customer, customer has to leave a message in their voice mail which is just annoying.
Phone banking will not give my money…
Phone banking will not give my money that's available
They will not transfer to supervisor the phone banking is terrible and closes my accounts TD .. RBC .... Scotiabank are better banks and have never had this
Security for your money this bank workers are the reason for fraud and identity theft don't trust
I would NEVER in my life ever recommend…
I would NEVER in my life ever recommend this bank to anyone even to my worst enemy. Having money in your account is more a liability more than anything
Wouldn't trust them with kids toys let…
Wouldn't trust them with kids toys let alone 1 penny.
promenade mall branch
At promenade mall branch.
My pregnant wife was treated very poorly and badly. They refused to make her an withdrawal, coming up with useless and pointless excuses. I had o leave work to get there, and end up missing half day due to the incompetence of the manager, which was parroting the same thing over and over... I'm about to close all my business with bmo.
I Love BMO
I Love BMO. Excellent Service and great products. Keep up the good work.
Weird practices
They offered me a line of credit, which I accepted. Then I get these cheques in the mail, without any notification or access to the account beyond that. After I call them, they tell me they do not offer any way for me to see transactions on my line of credit beyond a mailed copy of my statement sent to me monthly. Also no way to change address, view status etc.
This would be okay 20 years ago, but not in 2024!
