If I could give a zero

If I could give a zero, I most certainly would. For more than one month, I have been in a struggle with this bank and their damnable customer service to resolve an ever-growing set of problems. I live where there are with no brick and mortar branches, so of course, I must rely on the phone and I am shuffled from one no-nothing department to another. My longest wait time (and I am almost ashamed to admit it) has been 4.5 hrs!!! This is the worst experience ever. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Avoid at all cost and bank with a reputable US Bank!

Worst customer service ever! Bank of the West had excellent service. BMO has a bunch of attitude incompetent people from the ghetto who have no clue what is customer service. They talk down to customers like the customers are serving them, and not vice versa. This bank should have stayed in Canadia, they don't belong to the USA! This bank deserves to everyone to abandon them and to go bankrupt! Avoid at all cost and bank with a reputable US Bank!

This bank is horrible

This bank is horrible. It has been very untrusting and they are liars! I have been locked out of my account for no reason other than for their personal suspicion rather than concrete evidence. My funds are being held without cause and I have been put through a lot of trouble after many years of being their customer. This bank has no consideration or respect for their customers. DON'T EVER BANK WITH BMO!!

Holds, holds, holds....

Ive never experienced so many ridiculous holds before at Scotiabank. They hold funds way longer and more often than any bank Ive ever heard of. Even online purchases take forever to process. I even had funds held for a week even though the vendor didnt end up charging me for the purchase. I had no access to the money. Absolutely horrible. Will be switching banks.

Useless bank/customer service

Handed in my cheque and stated it was all held from me due to NSFs from a while ago on another account. I told them they will continue if you decide to keep holding my cheque's and they said they don't care that's their policy. I have never had this issue with RBC. I think I will switch back. Useless bank

Transfer a loan

Very disappointed with their system. After 8 years being a BMO customer with a good credit, never missed a payment, Very complicated procedures, unprofessional and uneducated advisors, you are not able to transfer your existing mortgage from one province to another one.

Worst bank ever

Worst bank ever! Never help you with fraud issues, just tell you the transactions were you and close the case, randomly lock you out of your own account and from your own money for no reason, tonight they all of a sudden are not able to accept e-transfers into BMO accounts…. Like what is wrong with the owners of this company? Are they brain dead?

Third class bank-STAY AWAYY

Third class bank-STAY AWAY. They take hours to talk to an agent over phone, you navigate and listen to extremely long recorded messages, select choices. Then the agent ask you million questions to tell you at the end that the service you are looking for requires you to go to the branch.
Give me break guys, go to branch with id to close chequing account. Am I dealing with a third world government department?

“BMO took a perfectly good bank and destroyed it”

I was with Bank of the West for 25 years and they were excellent. Then BMO took it over and turned it into a dumpster of service, utility, and quality. Half the time I tried to log into my account online I received an error message. The times I am able to log in, I am immediately logged back out. The user interface of their website is shallow at best. There is no way to access the information/details of your accounts, such as required minimum balances or service fees. (And on that note, they migrated one of my free checking accounts and changed it to a $25,000 minimum balance without telling me and then charged a service fee when I didn’t have it, also without notifying me.) There is also no information on transactions and the abbreviations aren’t always clear (which is how the first monthly service charge was mistaken for something else).

Calling the customer service line is also poor quality. I’ve been given vague answers for things, and when I request confirmation numbers for my issues that needed resolved, I was told I’d receive one by email later and never did. One time the phone representative said BMO preferred if we handled our issues via the website, which as I said, is barely functional. They also replaced the Bank of the West staff at the local branch with tellers who, I kid you not, did not know how to count change when exchanging a $100 bill for tens and twenties and quarters.

Do NOT open an account with BMO.

The worst bank in Canada

Well, I gotta say that hopefully I have never been a BMO customer, but I worked as Customer service representative for this fraudulent company. I just gonna say I’m from El Salvador, and trust me, BMO management is one of the most terrify company ever in history, they can’t give its customers their money back just because “company policies”. Bmo got that weird thing called “voice ID” and believe me, you might be the account owner but if that thing displays “suspected fraudster” then you gotta go to any branch to present your ID. As a BMO ex-representative I always recommend avoid that bank, They are stealing your money without any consent.

This is the worst bank I have ever…

This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. They took over my loan from bank west and now makes me jump through hoops to access my information, can not get a pay off, will not confirm my last payment. Had to send my license and a notory form and because I didn't call back in 24 hours to tell them I sent it, they are expecting me to get another notorized form.

I would like to recommend Mehran at your oak bay branch in Saanich for going over and beyond her days work I am an elder senior citizen and not good on computers and Mehran did everything I needed and put it on my iPad for me to make my life so much easier thank you so much for your help.

They so money hungry, my account has been under verification for three weeks now and they have locked me over al my funds, I went to the bank already show my ids, passport, prove of address, gas bill and nothing! They refuse to help me and costumer service hangs on me,

Poor customer service reps all around

Dealing with customer service in english or in french is a mess now. The french line used to be better but not anymore.
The english line is outsourced and frankly, they are doing a poor job, so i used to call the french line to get better service and its getting gradually worse and worse. Reps not understanding questions, reps thinking they can just cut you off and ask if you have another question. It happened twice today, once when i called about my debit card and another time when i called about my credit card. BMO is no longer what it used to be and i have been with them for 20 years. Might look into changing.

I have been able to put money into my…

I have been able to put money into my tax free savings account from my checking a with my overdraft protection but suddenly I can't they say then a guy from India said we can't do that but I've been able to until he came into the picture then another guy from India put a block on my password when I called into check on my banking and when I asked how much was in in my savings a guy from India said 108 cents which should have said 108 dollars since people from India have been working more with bank of Montreal they are bringing a very lazy work ethic with them they are not professional and are trying to make life as miserable as possible for the clients of the bank of Montreal this has to change in so unhappy with this service
