Just had Android fitted to 2013 F30 with reversing camera and Apple play. These guys could not have been more professional! They were fantastic- I had lots of questions and needed advice on how to operate the system. They were patient and genuinely really good guys. Their workmanship and care in doing the installation was exceptional treating my car and trim if it were theirs. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Excellent! Bought an android screen for my f21 m140 and it was fantastically priced, fits and looks amazing, just wish I bought one sooner.
Communication was spot on, answered all my questions before purchasing and was contacted just after purchase to confirm my delivery address to make sure it got to me without issue. And the item was delivered in a matter of days, much sooner then I expected.
Fitting was simple enough in my car for me to do it myself, but can not comment on other models.
And required no coding just as advertised and there was no issues, but I know if there was I would have been helped straight away!
The service and products from these guys are great, if you are thinking of buying from Bayern Mods, just go for it you won’t regret it!

Great product and fantastic customer service. The initial install took a while but we were working blind. However I think we'd be able to do it again in under an hour. If you've got big hands you might want to pay the guys at BMods to do the install for you!

I have no complaint regarding the quality of the product or, for that matter, the after sales service.

However, I am astounded that there are no written instructions for the main unit, and in my case, the additional CarPlay dongle to aid installation, setup and fault finding. With no branding available on the product it is not even possible to find support from the manufacturers online.

For any business to charge just shy of £500 for the main unit and CarPlay dongle without any instruction manual is simply outrageous. Even if the manufacturer hasn’t provided instructions any self-respecting reseller would understand the need to provide a comprehensive manual.

As an aftermarket installation this unit can hardly be called ‘intuitive’ nor would I expect it to be. Hence the need for a set of clear instructions.

I am sure these guys mean well and want to provide high levels of support, but if they can’t get the basics right, then perhaps they should stop selling these units until they have invested some time in producing instruction manuals. I have bought products for £10 or less which still have instruction manuals.

Opted for the self install, arrived within 48 hours and mega easy to install.
Had a few questions that the guys replied to within a few mins and even happy to help with a few user errors along the way so great support.

Was a bit worried about retaining full idrive access and being able to use the idrive controller and steering wheel controls.
However the integration is very slick and you can switch between the original idrive and the android apps with ease and all controls work fine.

In terms of the unit, it's a 4gb/64gb snapdragon 8 core.
I've messed around with mid range tablets in the past, being a software engineer myself, which have struggled and find the bayen unit very responsive and no lag.

Having had the unit in place for about a week it's been spot on and does everything I need it too, no issues, no crashes or slowdowns

Have an ee sim installed and getting great connection

I'm terms of firmware, it's running ksw-q v1.3.0 , while the latest firmware is v1.6 reading the forums and discord channel v4 and v6 are a hit buggy and can't have Netflix on so happy sticking with v3 for now but upgrades are really straight forward.

The only other bit of advice I would give would be to those getting the GPS splitter, the splitter cable comes up short so you'll also need an small extention (search for Fakra extention in ebay there about £5)

Best service ever, I wish Bayern Mods every success because they deserve it! First, I had purchased wrong model ( CIC instead of NBT - entirely my fault) and that was solved instantly by Bmods, I got sent the right one within 48 hrs ☆☆☆☆☆. I also had problem with my reverse camera due to installing it myself ( I have screwed one of the cables), straight away I have been offered a fix by Bmods - provided me with new cable AND camera absolutely FREE of charge. Once again, amazing service do not hesitate to purchase any of their products. Keep it this way !!!
