We purchased a house with an Annex, 3 Months ago, shortly after moving in we received a letter from Bolton Reed offering to help us get monies back for overpayment of Stamp Duty, as we purchased our property for over 1.5ml we thought we had nothing to lose. It turned out we got a large proportion of our money back. Bolton Reed we’re so professional and extremely (Denise) helpful, it was a breeze

Our local solicitor let us down badly regarding our Stamp Duty Refund leaving us very short of time before the deadline expired. These guys pulled out all the stops and submitted our claim with only a couple of days before the deadline expired! Refund obtained in full. A great experience!

We were contacted, by post, in April 2022 with regards a possible overpayment of LTT (Land Transaction Tax) although we were sceptical as to whether it was a scam.

We called the office and were advised of a tax relief scheme known as Multiple Dwellings Relief. We instructed Bolton Reed to lodge a claim, and within a week, received just shy of twenty thousand pounds.

Needless to say, we were overjoyed!

Stamp Duty Refund
At first when the company contacted me I thought it might be a scam. I researched all I could on the web and it seemed genuine. I contacted my bank to reassure myself they could do nothing on my accounts without my permission and a note was left on file to that effect. With this in mind I spoke with with Denise Banks from Bolton Reed who was incredibly helpful and informative and who put me at ease straight away. She did all the hard work and all I did was give a couple of permissions by scanned PDF. Just under 7 weeks later the money was in my bank. Great service, very efficient and pain free. Would highly recommend this company.

I was skeptical when I first received the letter, so I thought I’d look into it and found I had overpaid. I tried to sort this out myself but the tax office make things difficult as they contradict themselves. Received exceptional service from Denise Banks

After initially being sceptical about the unsolicited approach from Bolton Reed, and ignoring a couple of their letters, I finally contacted them and am so glad I did. Denise was fantastic to deal with and within 2 days of submitting my claim i had received my refund direct into my account. Cannot recommend Bolton Reed highly enough.

When we received a letter from Bolton reed saying we’d paid too much stamp duty for our property we were very sceptical and didn’t believe we were owed any money. After a number of months we did reach out to Denise at Bolton reed to discuss if we had a case or not. Denise who we dealt with is really lovely and was great to work with. She needed very little input from us to proceed with making a claim to HMRC. Within a couple of months we received the money from HMRC straight into our bank account . I was deeply suspicious when I received an unsolicited approach from Bolton Reed.
However, they are a very professional company, and anyone contacted by them should listen to what they have to say. I benefitted from the recovery of a five figure sum - something I would otherwise have been unaware of.
Denise was diligent and patient, holding my hand at every stage.

Sends unsolicited letters offering to 'reclaim overpaid Stamp Duty (SDLT)' on the basis that Multiple Dwelling Relief (MDR) is due. Appears to be unregulated by any recognised professional services regulator. If MDR relief was due, but not claimed by your conveyancer, then you have a clear claim against their PI insurers and do not need to pay fees (not specified in the unsolicited letters) to a third party.
