Incredible documentary style wedding photography
I cannot recommend and thank Paul enough for the memories of our wedding that he has created.
We went with Paul because we loved his style of photography and we loved the glowing reviews that were left. One particular review mentioned that guests thought Paul was a family friend, not a photographer, and that was our experience. Paul seamlessly fit into our wedding days, becoming involved in the proceedings, the celebrations and the conversation throughout both days. He is so easy to get along with that it really is like speaking with a friend, and he made our guests feel comfortable in his interaction. He blended in just like a guest, except with a camera. Unlike other photographers, Paul was more than happy to eat and drink with us, not sit at a separate table as if we were just clients who were paying him. He treated us like we had been friends for years, not like customers he would forget about the next day.
My wife and I, along with her bridesmaids and my groomsmen had such a laugh with Paul at the start of our days, and it never felt like we were being intruded on, nor did Paul take any pictures that put us in awkward positions or put a pause on our preparations. We were able to just crack on, while Paul laughed with us and subtly took pictures without us even realising. Some of my friends asked, after the wedding, if Paul was a friend of ours prior to the wedding, simply because he had such a good laugh with them.
The pictures themselves are absolutely fantastic and are exactly what we wished for - non-intrusive documentary style photography, with no contrived or choreographed poses, just people living in the moment. Rather than having posed photographs which take ages to take and take the bride and groom away from their guests and the fun, Paul's photography just allows you and your guests to crack on with day while he cracks on with his photographs. He captured the love that everyone felt on the day, as well as the happy tears, the laughter, the dancing and the joy. On the dancing, Paul stayed at the wedding until almost midnight - he didn't go after the first dance like we've experienced at other people's weddings. He was there to capture some of the best moments of the wedding.
Finally, Paul was more than a photographer. He chipped in lugging things for us, all the while still managing to take fantastic photographs of these seemingly mundane moments, turning them into fantastic memories. Without Paul's help on the day, it wouldn't have gone as well as it did.
Paul, once again, thank you for everything you did for Emma and I. You have created some truly special photographs that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. It was a privilege to spend that small slice of time with you, and I wish you all the best in life.
