DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!

If I could give it an even more of a negitive review, I would . I order a gift and the website gave me a fit . It allowed me to buy the item but refused to express shipment . So I was forced to use standard shipment. 5 days later , the order was in que still and emailed them. The website is awful. No help. Now 8 days has passed and finally told me that the money was refunded . If the item is no longer on sale at the store or on websites, Why allow this product to be sold . Now, I have to order it from another place because of this misrepresentation . Todays date is 6-14-2024

I just had HUMILIATING EXPERIENCE in…

I just had HUMILIATING EXPERIENCE at BAM store Hot Springs. Despite my voluntarily showing the young lady my bibles when I came in the door and letting her know I was searching for Bible book covers. I was treated as a theif.
I ended up with one employee acting like she was helping while she was going through my cart" scanning for sales". I informed her I had already made them aware when I came in that I had two bibles with me, ( She pulls them out and looks at them anyways) A different employee/ lady came back to the aisle appearing frustrated the covers were disorganized and hovering around reorganizing them while I was still trying to "fit" my bibles in the proper cover.(Both ladies now on aisle with me) Other lady employee who was scanning stuff in my cart under the pretense of being helpful / trying to see if any of my choices were one sale. Picked out a cover for me and seemed disgruntled when I told her I wasnt paying 35 dollars for that one bc I didnt like it or the fit. Then I noticed a third employee/ lady was hovering at end of aisle watching me while she pretened to be busy Id say they in total spent about 20 minutes hovering, trying to check the bibles I brought in with me, stepping between myself and the covers I was exploring , Oh and I also showed the one woman EVERYTHING IN MY BUGGY and explained more than once that I had four covers of different sizes and two additional bibles I was shopping for as Christmas gifts for grandchildren. They were so BLATANTLY and pitifully trying to catch me stealing . ALL of these women fled the aisle as soon as I stepped away to go pay for my items and began to tell them off.
What should have been an enjoyable experience shopping , was absolutely nerve wrecking and infuriating. didn’t even finish my shopping. I just, , I told the lady I appear to be a distraction from everyone who works in this store and I proceeded to check out, presented my MEMBERSHIP CARD and proceeded to pay for 145i,00 worth of bibles and covers . And then I told them ALL how humiliated I felt due to the way I was treated and that I won’t ever shop there again. Four of them acting like they did nothing wrong,. And the lady had to gall to ask to look in my original bag to check the two bibles I came in with for a THIRD time and used that as her excuse. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I sure wish they’d have called the cops cause I would have sued their bitts off. Last time they’ll ever get my money. Wouldn’t have spent my money there this time if I hadn’t spent over an hour trying to find what I needed. Grrrrrff. DO NOT THINK YOU CAN FEEL FREE TO LINGER and BE SELECTIVE on what you spend money on at BOOKs-A-ZERO)~ CRappy crappy customer service and PR skills demonstrated by the employees. They need training or fired.
To the owners of the Books-A-Million store in Hot Springs Arkansas. I do not know how many employees you have at this one time while I was there but I can tell you it seemed EVERY EMPLOYEE was hanging out on that aisle with me and that left the ENTIRE REMAINDER of the store OPEN TO THEFT@! LOL. Good job ladies!

It’s the last 145$ I plan on spending in the Hot Springs booksamillion store. Guess I took too long being selective on what I spent my money on. I have very little to spend so over a 100.00 in purchases from BAM should have been enjoyable experience. But employees Totally ruined my shopping experience. Not to mention while all four ladies were SO VERY FOCUSED on making sure I wasnt stealing , who exactly was minding the very busy store? Wow. I wont be back. Staff needs further training. PS I am a retired pediatric special needs nurse with alot of experience establishing rapport with complete strangers.

Crap Customer Service

I placed an order online and 2 days later the order was still "Processing". I contacted customer support and they were rude and not helpful at all. The next morning I go on their site to check the order status and it shows the customer service rep CANCELED my order without my request. They haven't even sent any type of notification to my email to tell me they canceled it. Very bad company to deal with.

Millionare Club review

Millionare Club review: had the millionaire club for a year which went fine until renewal. I knew I signed up for the automatic renewal so that part was fine. What wasn’t fine, was the fact they charged me two months in a row for said renewal. Obviously I did a credit card charge back on the second knowing it was a mistake. Fast forward a month for some Christmas shopping and the cashier can’t find my membership. After showing my renewal email and credit charge they honored my 10% membership savings. But when I called the help line the next day, they said that they cancelled my membership since I did the charge back. Mind you, they charged my card TWICE, so I only charged back the duplicate charge. They said their records said it was an issue with my bank and to call them. Wouldn’t help out whatsoever. So what did I do? I cancelled the original charge, got my refund and have now sworn off book-a-million for crappy customer service and an even crappier membership program.

Poor Customer Service & Wrong Items

They really messed up my order, which I drove out of my way to place because the customer service agent at the 800 number told me I had to go in-store to use my coupons. That turned out to be false, so I wasted an hour and a half for nothing. They promised $100 worth of coupons, but they don’t tell you it’s for in-store use only, and they hardly carry the books I read.

When I placed an order at the store, the associate ordered the completely wrong book and then ordered the young readers edition of another book on the same order. They will do nothing to fix these mistakes. Just use Amazon and don’t shop here. Calling the 800 number gets you nowhere, and they give incorrect information. The store associate I worked with had a very smart attitude. No wonder they are a failing business.

Books A Million vs Amazon

I have a gift card for books a million that I’ve been trying to use since Christmas, but the books are so expensive. The books that I’ve been needing for my book club have been double the price than Amazon. So I’ve been purchasing my books on Amazon.
Looks like I’m just going to have to find something on clearance just to use my gift card.

Our local store in Wilmington, NC took out the coffee shop and seating around their store. Not going back. It's pretty clear from the parking lot their demise is on the horizon.

BEWARE

BEWARE! They are definitely a scam op - I was searching for a very rare book to find and they happened have it coincidentally- for the price it was going for when it was first published in 2007 -around $45.00- it’s in really high demand and I see it going for second hand on eBay $180 - $200 used so yeah -huge 🚩 red flag- that’s why I came here to see if they were legit of not- comments saying a lot so thank you Trust Pilot for saving me money - nearly jumped into that one!

Deceptive company

Deceptive company. They promised 5-7 days shipping but failed to mention on their order page that that would be once they had it in stock. (That little snippet was a footnote on their invoice after they gobbled your money.) No sign of the book yet. Avoid.

Worst customer service

Worse customer service. Received a very damaged book. I won't get a replacement until they receive the damaged book. I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for a book I pre-ordered. So I asked for a partial refund. I sent pictures of the damage. How Long does it take to get a refund? No communication. Makes me not order from them anymore. And they're shipping takes forever.
