Not to be trusted
The main driver for the audiology service at Boots Harrogate is to sell hearing aids. The facilities are, in direct comparison to the NHS very limited and fall far short of the NHS. IMHO if you are concerned about your hearing do not use this company.

£72 for increased tinnitus and hearing loss
I booked an appointment for a free hearing test in early October in Harrogate. The lady who saw me said my left ear had too much wax in it,fair enough, £6.50 later I had an olive oil spray and an appointment for the following week
I used the oil for a week(a few sprays everyday and don't put cotton wool in your ear where the instructions she gave me)went back the wax was not soft enough so another £5.50 on a bicarb spray(use this 4 days the oil 3 days then go back a week later.
I arrive for my appointment she looks in my ear sets up the equipment to remove the wax and she says to me "you do know it's £60 for this?" No I didn't! At no point in all my visits previously was this mentioned,I felt I had no choice but to go ahead so I did BIG MISTAKE!
she only removed some of it and it felt like she had pushed the remaining plug further into my ear.
As a consequence I had a very painful left ear for a week and a half and my tinnitus was much worse.
Why a week and a half you ask? Fortunately I work at the local hospital and a colleague suggested a visit to the ENT department. The doctor told me to flood my ear with normal olive oil and to jeep it in with cotton wool, something the boots "proffesional" told me not too
After 5 days I went back and they removed my wax quickly and painlessly.
I have told boots about my experience via email but they have never replied to me so I am £72 light paying for a service they never carried out.
My advice to anyone is to avoid these incompetent charlatans and go to specsavers or your local doctors, appalling customer service
