Mum - Audiologist Experience
I recently took my elderly mum to Boots Hearing Care in Lewisham for her hearing review, and we were genuinely impressed with the level of care she received. Laura the audiologist was outstanding — warm, patient, professional and incredibly friendly. She explained everything clearly, made my mum feel completely at ease, and took the time to ensure every step of the assessment was comfortable and understood.
The whole experience felt supportive and reassuring, and my mum left feeling confident about her hearing and the options available to her. Thank you, Laura, for your kindness and expertise — it made a real difference. 🌟

Failure to plan is a plan for failure
Despite many negative comments on Lewisham Branch, I decided to test it myself while waiting for my GP referral for hearing test. I was 3 min prior my time, waited for 13 min with only one person taking history from a customer for eye test. then he called someone who asked me to go inside to be served. inside there was 4 ladies eating and chatting. No one asked me why you here or how can I help. I went back to the front desk and I informed them. The lady who asked me to go inside stated"We are opticians, the ear part with someone else". I said" You are Boots",right? she said no, we ( audiology/opticians) are external. I asked "who will see me", she answered "She is busy!
I decided to leave and she commented "have a nice day". This appaling branch must close, boots is a company that to survive, they must behave. No loyalty anymore for poor companies. they waited my time, but I am glad to confirm the previous negative reviews.

All the staff were messing about…
All the staff were messing about instead of serving customers. In front of me was a lad whom was trying to get an exchange due to a damaged product and held the line up because staff decided to make things difficult. I was furious as this made me extremely late to pick up my daughter. Black lady on the till said she wasn’t bothered and we should be patient. I think your staff need retraining. Lucky for your staff member myself & others had patience and not lashed back at her. Get better trained staff. Your staff should not be escalating situations and making customers anxious. Training is really needed here.
Edit due to your reply: I have phoned your customer service and was told someone will come back to me but no one has. The Lewisham store is an absolute mess & the staff need taking out & re-training inc. the sanctimonious fool of a manager.

Excellent service from all the staff at Boots opticians, especially Stella, the optometrist. Appointment made at short notice, following advice from 111 clinician to get my eye checked out based on symptoms. I was fitted in & given a range of tests which took up a significant amount of time. Throughout tests I was given clear information about test procedure & their purpose and treated in a very caring manner. My condition was diagnosed and fully explained by the optometrist and I was also given a booklet by her on the condition to take away for further reading. I left feeling both reassured and relieved that condition was not serious & did not require further treatment at present. I also felt very fortunate & grateful that I'd received such a prompt, caring & thorough service.

Reasonably pleasant experience but more time and choice would be better
The staff were all pleasant and helpful, as was our audiologist. She appeared to be knowledgeable and was courteous and charming. However, we felt that more time could have been spent on what our choices were and how the various hearing aids compared to each other. We felt we were steered towards a pricey one - it may be that it was the best for us but it would have been helpful to know more about our choices.

I didn't initially write a review because this was my first ever audiology appointment and I have since been to other specialists in the past 8 months. Whilst the tests were carried out in a professional manner I felt that the audiologist Naima lacked the soft skills needed for patients coming to a hearing test, she used only my surname when calling me to my appointment and didn't offer much of an explanation to my test results, it felt very much a tick box exercise for them. I think as some customers will be nervous or worried about their results it would improve the service by being kinder and better explanations. I have since been to Specsavers audiology and really appreciated the empathy and explanation of my hearing loss explained by the audiologist.
