Amazing
Amazing! The day was perfect and Donna and our wedding coordinator couldn’t do more. I’m surprised this only has a few stars on trustpilot. I never usually leave reviews but I feel like this is not a true reflection of the venue and the staff if something isn’t right you just ask and they make it right thank you so much for making our day perfect Donna.
Forced us to pay despite being diagnosed with cancer
Please read before booking.
I was due to get married at Bourton Hall in February, but I was diagnosed with cancer recently which meant I’m unable to attend the wedding.
We asked to have the wedding rearranged out side of “wedding season” (Oct 2027) in which Bourton Hall refused and forced us to pay 75% of fee before the 21st of November.
Which caused stress and anxiety especially to my partner as we had to rush through insurance due to the short time provided.
We understand there’s Ts and Cs to follow but Bourton Hall was the only part of the wedding who refused to help us in some way.
P.S they delete google reviews
Thankful for wedding insurance!
Thankful for wedding insurance!
This is just caution to everyone when your life takes a turn!
Imagine taking your vows in this beautiful place!
This was a day we were all looking forward to being part of,my son and fiancées special day.
Sadly this was not to be.. not because they had split up, or simply not decided to get married… no my sons cancer diagnosis!
It was to be something happy after the horrible time they have had this year!
After the diagnosis all they wanted to do was rearrange the date .. but no they couldn’t do that, they had to cancel and pay 75%.
I understand things like contracts and you are bound by them, but something as traumatic as a diagnosis should have careful consideration, how heartless can companies be!
So not only have they had the stress of a diagnosis, they have alsoBourton Hall Wedding Venueing a wedding, and paying 75% for a day they won’t have.
I think that Bourton Hall Wedding Venue and I’m sure many more venues need to review contracts, and have a bit of heart for couples that go through these stressful times like this.. its unnecessary and callous.
A review from someone who actually got married here...
I wanted to leave a review as someone who actually got married here (late August 2025), rather than as someone led purely by the experience or YouTube videos of others.
Overall, we had a fantastic wedding experience here.
Positives:
The venue itself is beautiful and all of our guests were incredibly impressed. It is well maintained, classy, organised, and clearly run by people who know what they are doing. This includes the recently refurbished rooms, which were lovely. The honeymoon suite was breathtaking, the bathrooms were beautiful (especially the women’s), and the rose gardens were stunning. The exclusivity of the venue is also a huge plus — I certainly wouldn’t have appreciated a drone flying over my wedding!
It was very helpful to have a wide range of recommended vendors. We chose two of them, and both did a great job. The added bonus was that they understood the venue, had plenty of experience there, and were able to offer countless useful tips.
We ended up having three different wedding organisers over the roughly two years of planning. This wasn’t ideal, but we appreciate that maternity leave can’t be helped. The second organiser we were assigned was unfortunately awful — disorganised, unprofessional, seemingly inexperienced, and with no attention to detail. It was a relief to learn she would not be handling our wedding day, and it appeared she was later dismissed. Courtney, our third organiser, was fantastic. She very quickly understood our style, tailored her approach, and was extremely diligent. We also really appreciated her ability to be present and available on the day without ever getting in the way. She has quite a unique vibe — at first she came across as slightly nonchalant, but we soon realised that wasn’t the case at all. She was calm, reassuring, and exactly what you need when navigating wedding stress.
Negatives:
There were some inconsistencies in our experience with the staff. Most were absolutely fine, but a few really let Bourton Hall down. My maid of honour was refused a drink for the bride three times by a rude young blonde boy who repeatedly pushed back, until the situation was finally resolved by a lovely older blonde staff member. In another instance, a guest was abruptly told to “hurry up” when they needed to use the toilet.
DJ Harvey – I’ll start by saying that the music on the night was good and, for the most part, hit the mark. However, Harvey was not very responsive during the lead-up to the wedding and needed multiple chasers. His “I’ve done loads of weddings here and know what I’m doing” attitude wasn’t particularly enjoyable either. We had a very specific vision for our first dance, and this is why I pushed for a short preparation call, which I never got response to. We sent exact timings for the music — including when we wanted the confetti drop and when we wanted guests to join the dance — down to the second, weeks in advance (we had prepped our dance for 2 months). Unfortunately, Harvey either didn’t pay attention or decided he knew better. As a result, we did not get the confetti moment we planned, missed out on photo opportunities, and he chose his own timing for the announcement. In my opinion, this process would be much smoother if the wedding organiser coordinated and enforced the DJ planning on the couple’s behalf, ensuring responsiveness and adherence to the couple’s wishes. We also heard of others not having a great experience with the DJ during the taster day. if music is significant for you, I would recommend that if you go with Harvey as your DJ for the day that you insist on a prep call with him before the day and have very
The cottage – A lot of the technology did not work, which really isn’t acceptable considering the price. Hornets are also quite big and in large numbers during the summer! make sure you listen and keep the windows closed in the rooms on your day!
Price changes – We booked around 18 months before our wedding, and it was very frustrating to see a 10–15% price increase on extras compared to what we originally viewed (granted brochure fine print did say prices may change) Just be aware that the variation wasn’t small and applied across every single item, consider this when budgeting.
Overall I would recommend Bourton Hall, we had a magical day and the venue truly is a memorable one.
Perfect experience for a wedding -
Perfect experience for our family wedding.
Every detail was though about and the staff, accommodation, food and the venue are fantastic.
Myself & my best friend were looking at…
Myself & my best friend were looking at this venue for both of our weddings, after watching both the YouTube videos, the first one the caretaker with his vile self being aggressive and threatening everything possible to someone doing a lawful activity, and the second video (DJE media) of the manager condoning the caretakers behaviour and letting us know he’s still working there with the public. Myself and my best friend will be looking elsewhere to book wedding venues, that is £80,000 potentially that this company has lost.
I understand that things happen and people make mistakes but to keep the person working there after watching the video and clearly seeing it was totally unnecessary and unacceptable to behave that way.
Also Dan (DJE media) offered to do the photography for the wedding (would have been for free) and it would have been amazing, he is amazing at what he does. Photography isn’t a crime! It can be beautiful
Perfect wedding venue
I notice there are a load of reviews for Bourton Hall which are very negative and all are based on an apparent YouTube video of some random person flying a drone on private property . This is very unhelpful because none of the reviewers have actually been to Bourton Hall so I think Trustpilot should take them down. I am an actual recent customer of Bourton Hall. We held my daughter’s wedding there on 6th June 2025. My daughter and her new husband have said the entire event was perfect and it surpassed all our expectations. From the venue (stunning) to the staff (very professional and helpful ) to the food (amazing) we had the perfect day. Our wedding planner Lee made sure everything ran like clockwork. I honestly cannot think of a single thing they could have done to make it better. It was the perfect day. It was nerve racking selecting our venue and we honestly couldn’t have picked a better place.
The manager lied.
The manager here lied about a senior member of staff assaulting someone.
The incident happened on camera, a staff member assaulted a man for absolutely no reason at all, after which the person he assaulted called him a freak. The manager defended the assault, claiming that the staff member assaulted the person BECAUSE he had called him a freak.
Apparently time travel is real.
Also, even if it were true, a manager is prepared to defend the idea that his staff are allowed to assault customers because they felt insulted? Even if it were true the behavior of this manager is utterly contemptible. It's an indefensible position to take for a public facing company. Avoid this venue at all costs unless you want to put yourself and your family/friends in danger of assault.

Aggressive man
Aggressive man, very poor, would not recommend this place especially if that aggressive man Dominic is still there.
Disgusting behaviour from your…
Disgusting behaviour from your maintenance manager, aggressive,to the point of committing a criminal offence.for anyone thinking of using this venue I’d think very carefully……absolute disgusting behaviour this employee needs to be dismissed 😡😡😡😡😡
Dangerous Abusive Managment
Shocking behaviour of a senour manager eho thtetend to smash up a visitor. A VERY aggresive intimadating & unprofessional thug assulted an innocent visitor by physically touching him in an aggressive manner and threatening to break him up
Anger Management Urgently Needed
I don't like leaving negative views at all because as a business owner I know how it can affect your overall public view.
However.
Having just seen the video of your 'head of maintenance' Dominic being thoroughly rude and aggressive to the young lad who's primary concern on walking into the property, was that the alcohol she'd was left with a door open wide!
Like any other normal person would do, he reported it to the first member of staff he saw. He went back to the shed to be immediately accosted by this thug if a man who was bullying, rude & aggressive.
As for his behaviour when aerial footage was being taken with the drone, words fail me!
He needs anger management at the very least.
He should also be spoken to by the police as he actually went hands on, trying to grab the lad's chest camera.
Imagine just for one second, that the lad was actually scoping out the venue as he was considering it for his own wedding.
How much money would they have now lost through the actions of that one man!!!
Unprofessional staff
Rude, aggressive and unhinged maintenance manager. It's difficult to judge a place based off one individual's actions, but unfortunately his disgusting behaviour is condoned by the director of country house weddings so you can expect this behaviour again. Looked a lovely place based off the aerial view of the grounds, but who knows what could kick off with staff like that on site. Too much of a risk to take on your big day.
Lets not take an unruly staff member as…
Lets not take an unruly staff member as an example of the venue on YouTube.
I was going to ask for an appointment for a wedding for 2026/27. I did phone reception and I think the girl/woman who picked up my call was probably harassed due to the video. She was quite rude and hung up on me.
I phoned back 30 seconds later and the manager who took my call was very, very nice. Probably the best person I have talked to re a wedding venue so far. She couldn't have been nicer, when I explained the previous encounter.
This is a learning curve for everyone. It's a beautiful place (from the drone views) and I'm sure everyone is now is as beautiful and courteous as the manager I spoke to.
And no. I've no idea who I spoke to and do not know anyone who works there. Not that you'll believe me. You are welcome to contact.
Bullying staff
Bully boy maintenance, hopefully people avoid this place for wedding functions, imagine if something accidentally gets broken and they had to deal with this maintenance person, extremely aggressive and unprofessional he should be sacked.
