The head of maintenance

The head of maintenance, Dominick, is a very angry man.
threatening to assault a member of the public and damage a camera and drone being flown from public property
He needs years of anger management. He is a total liability to the public and the guests.

My son and daughter-in-law got married…

My son and daughter-in-law got married at Bourton Hall on Saturday 15 Feb 25.
What an amazing day from start to finish.
The staff, rooms, chapel, food and entertainment was fabulous all day long. The organisation of the day was amazing.
I would recommend any couple to get married here and have the proudest parents ever.
Nothing was too much trouble, even helping us take all the bags to the bedrooms.
We purchased all 21 rooms for the guests to stay overnight and was so great to be able to pop in an out of the room, as needed.
Fabulous food, entertainment and lots of space for guests to chill, dance and enjoy the day.

A Fairytale come true!

Originally after getting engaged July 2024 I had planned on a rustic barn spring wedding. However a deal popped up on social media for Bourton Hall, “book any of there remaining dates for 2024 and only pay £7995 plus if your the first 10 couples you win the sparkle package.” We thought this is too good to be true but of-course went to check it out! We have been together 9 years and have 2 children and an intimate family Christmas wedding started to sound ideal! As we walked through the doors at Bourton and sat in the main hall by the fireplace we just fell in love with its cosy, homely feel. We booked it there and then! After that it was extremely plain sailing! I was assigned the fantastic Emily our wedding coordinator who couldn’t do enough for us! I thoroughly enjoyed the lead up to the wedding, Bourton Hall completely took the stress away from wedding planning! It was needed, being self employed I worked full time up until the day before as I couldn’t afford not too! Emily was able to work round this and meet with us when convenient for us too! They were also willing to cater to any food requirements for my guests too. We wanted two meat options but had one veggie guest and chef was willing to do a bigger portion of the vegetarian starter for us. My autistic brother only eats beige food and chef was willing to do him chicken nuggets and chips. I opted to stay in the lodge the night before with my bridesmaids, this was one of my favourite parts on the whole day! Definitely worth booking! Lodge is so cosy and warm, and beautifully done, pictures don’t do it justice! Jacuzzi’ing in the rain with umbrellas was so much fun too! We watched Bridget Jones diary on Netflix - the perfect girly evening! Emily was able to check us into the Honeymoon suite early the next morning, this was fantastic as the time from checking in to the ceremony went by in a flash! The breakfast pastries were delicious and we had Prosecco bought to the room. The honeymoon suite is stunning! Spacious enough for my very large dress 😂! Lots of room for everyone to get ready. The grooms getting ready room was equally as nice! Emily did everything! I dropped off decorations the day before and she sorted it all out, no one had to lift a finger! I don’t know how she does it, she’s superwomen! The ceremony was just how I had dreamed it would be! The chapel is a Magical space. They really know what they are doing, the running order is so detailed and they’ve got it down to a T! The whole day went off without a single hitch! It was really like a fairy tale come true! The food was absolutely delicious, portion sizes big! The welcome drinks were yummy and the gin cart was worth its weight in gold! The staff were all incredible, seemless and professional. The bar staff, especially Dan (I think) looked after me all night with double gins! I kept trying to pay not realising I had a tab and I kept being told it’s on the house! I felt like the Queen 😂! The first dance was just so beautiful by the stairs with the confetti showering down on us. All the little details, the hot chocolate station, candy canes, Christmas decor, it was all just fabulous! The evening buffet was the best one we’ve ever had at a wedding, those fish and chips were exactly what was needed! Our guests were all so well catered for and comfortable. The rooms were all cosy and very warm! Breakfast the next day was also beautifully done and delicious! We didn’t feel rushed in the morning, Emily had gathered all my stuff into one room so packing it all into cars was easy! I was dreading this bit but Emily took all the stress away! The kids were also very happy with there playroom and running about the place, I arranged for Santa to visit them, fully expecting it to go to pot by that time in the evening, but Emily made sure it happened even though gathering the kids was like herding cats! One of my favourite parts was seeing there little faces as they walked in and saw Santa! So many special memories made! We are so grateful to Bourton Hall for giving us that time in such a beautiful space to spend with our loved ones! We feel so lucky and wish we could do it all over again! We will be coming back for our anniversary to the Winter Ball! We cannot wait! 😍 Love Jenny, Joe and the boys x

A super day

A super day, a super venue, but even the wedding breakfast was hot, so tasty and plentiful. All staff were helpful and with a smile helping with the most trivial enquiry. The rooms I visited were beautiful. Mine was nice a toasty especially on a cold February day once again breakfast was plentiful everything from cereal pastries, to a full English.
Over all, a super place to give the bride and groom a memorable wedding.

Beautiful grounds care if intending to stay the night

Beautiful grounds, attentive staff, lovely food and the wedding was well organized.
However think twice if you intend to stay the night. The rooms are advertised as luxurious. For £170 a night I expect tea and coffee making facilities and was horrified to find that none were available. One of the staff reluctantly gave me a kettle and 2 cups but no tea/coffee /milk so we had to find a shop.
No tissues, and a very dangerously slippery shower.
Travelodge down the road is better value for overnight.
Nice breakfast.,

WOW what a wedding venue

WOW what a wedding venue! Bourton Hall is absolutely beautiful and so special! My husband and I got married at Bourton Hall back in March this year and we had the BEST DAY EVER. Not only is the venue truly stunning, and special, but what made the day sooo perfect was the staff - they looked after our every need. Everything looked perfect and the food was incredible. A HUGE thank you to our Personal Wedding Planner Michaela, who was truly amazing - listening to our every need and bringing our dreams to fruition. Michaela really did go above and beyond and we cannot thank you enough. Michaela was always on hand to answer any questions and made sure the day went exactly to plan with no hiccups. We really would recommend Bourton Hall to any couple getting married. Our Wedding day certainly will be a day we will never forget. Thank you so much Bourton Hall we cannot wait to return for a dinner date in the future!

Pressured in to booking

Pressured in to booking, took 5 weeks for paperwork to be posted. Cancelled a week after paperwork received and told they are keeping the deposit. When we asked why, they advised it’s their terms and it’s to cover the cost of the initial enquiry and building maintenance. Be extremely wary when booking. Disgusted with Bourton Hall, especially when we are in a coat of living crisis.

As wedding photographers

As wedding photographers, we were incredibly impressed by the stunning beauty of Bourton Hall. This historic venue, located on a ridge overlooking Draycote Water in Warwickshire, offers a unique and unforgettable wedding experience. The couple we worked with had exclusive use of the house and grounds, which allowed us to take advantage of the expansive views and gorgeous backdrops for their photos.

One of the highlights of the day was the ceremony, held in the former Catholic Chapel. The ornate wood and gold leaf ceiling created an enchanting atmosphere, and the Italianate Gallery made for a grand entrance for the bride. For outdoor ceremonies, the Portico adjoining the front terrace was an idyllic setting.

The reception was held in the Banqueting Hall, where guests dined and danced the night away. The hall's striking views of the valley made for a memorable evening, and the Draycote Bar provided a fun and relaxed atmosphere for guests to continue celebrating.

At the end of the night, the couple and their guests retired to the 21 luxurious on-site rooms, including the Lady Bourton Honeymoon Suite. With a dressing room and en-suite bathroom and shower, the suite was the perfect place for the couple to start their married life. The option to stay at Bourton Hall the night before the wedding also made the day much more convenient and stress-free.

In conclusion, we were incredibly impressed by Bourton Hall and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a historic and luxurious wedding venue. The friendly staff made the day run smoothly and we look forward to photographing future weddings there.

Kindest regards
The Kensington Photographers
