We send 1000's of parcels internationally every year via multiple carriers. We enjoyed a period of sending some items via boxtal without issue and increased our use of the company but then had multiple issues. A good company can be judged by how it handles issues and Boxtal customer service has been abysmal. I have had to explain things multiple times, provide information multiple times and spoon feed the customer service department who have done everything possible to avoid paying insurance for lost parcels or even refunding just the cost of postage. XJ080034535JF via Chronopost was sent, received at the Post Office and shows on the tracking but lost. Boxtal claim they cannot pursue a claim as it never entered the postal system... See for yourself. XJ083913175JF via Chronopost is being returned without any explanation. I'm told I cannot get any compensation. Another parcel was "lost" on drop off. I was only entitled to a refund of the shipping fee minus Boxtal's hefty fee despite it never "officially" entering the postal system! Work directly with the main couriers is my advice. Pay a little extra.
I will update this review with any additional action taken on Boxtal's part.
Update 6/5/21 - In response to Boxtal's reply. This is the third time I have pointed out that the picture supplied was not the actual parcel but one just like it. It seems that my communications are not being read or understood. When supplying the picture I pointed out that it was not the actual item but a parcel exactly the same in wrapping style. When Boxtal failed to convey that information to the courier I again explained in detail that it was not the actual item. Again I am explaining that it was not the actual package but one just like it. We wrap all our parcels the same way. We have been shipping internationally for twenty years and have shipped tens of thousands of parcels in that time. We do not leave old labels attached. If Boxtal are going to offer an English version of their website in France perhaps it would be an idea to get some customer service agents who can read, understand and respond to English communications. If not perhaps take the English option away.
Boxtal's somewhat condescending reply below perhaps reveals the arrogance and lack of attention to detail of their agents. No research has been done into the case. Threads not read. Apology incoming perhaps.
Further update 6/5/21 - Refund has been issued for postage charge. I am still waiting for insurance action for the vanishing parcel. The item shows as dropped off at the PO and then stops tracking. As I said above the parcel was not the one in the photo, but one just like it. Clearly the parcel has been lost/stolen (we had another go missing on the same day that did not even get tracked and did receive a refund of postage costs for that one). There is no reason for not paying out on the insurance for this item no matter how hard Boxtal try and wriggle out of it and/or don't even try to pursue it. I will continue to update accordingly.
I would advise others to publically detail issues on sites like Trustpilot to hold these companies to account and get some action as it seems the only time that they act is when the issue goes public.

Had an expensive shipment sent from France 1st April that Boxtal put to UPS to U.K. parcel still not here, import taxes paid 5th, UPS returned parcel back to Boxtal 16th & still sitting there 27th! The shipper in France nor I can get anything out of Boxtal or UPS - complete joke. They say “Save time, optimize your shipping and boost your business” I totally disagree. I’m considering cancelling my order so Boxtal will have cost this person shipping a lot of money that they need in their business. Shambles with no ability to resolve issues. Avoid & ship direct as they add an unnecessary complexity that could hinder your business & lose customers.

Terrible service. I paid extra for a 48 hour delivery and it took 9 days to arrive, each day saying it would be delivered on that day and someone waiting all day for it to arrive for 9 days!. I asked for a refund and they said apologies for the late delivery but you will not be compensated.
Updating review - Boxtal very kindly called me to discuss the problem and they have agreed to refund me.

This is the first time I have used Boxtal and I am very disappointed. I sent a parcel from France to Spain, I measured and weighed it carefully. It was sent from my local post office and then nothing was heard for five weeks when the addressee complained that they hadn't received it. I sent it on 6 December 2020 and it finally arrived on 13 January 2021. Now I have received a bill for supplementary charge of 41,75 euros because it is claimed that the parcel was a small amount larger than I had stated. I have never had this problem before with other shipping companies and it seems a huge charge for an alleged small size difference (which I dispute) and the slowness of the delivery was unacceptable. It's even possible that in the delay the package was damaged or deformed as a consequence the dimensions altered . I am really unhappy with this extra charge and the slow delivery and feel that I should be receiving compensation in fact, not being charged extra! I would not recommend this service.

Boxtal in general are very good, but Ive been hit with an invoice, ( 2 months after the delivery), of 45 euros, its for an unspecified " government agency", there were no taxes to be paid on the parcels, and no special clearing. I don't see why I should pay this invoice ( l cannot reclaim from the customer), until one of my 6 emails to Boxtal gets a satisfactory answer to the question, "what agency has charged me 45 euros ,and why".

Sent many parcels with Boxtal over the last 2 years, I always take out the insurance but click wrong button, needless to say this parcel packed as per there website rules gets smashed to pieces, do not know how as it was a well packed cast iron pan!!!!!.
Opened a case to get the minimum 25 euro refund and refund of postage, today after 3 months of waiting they finally came back to me and have refused any refund at all, saying the package was not packed well enough. I thick 10cm of bubble wrap and strong box should be good enough to protect a metal pan.
Probably standard practice to refuse all claims.

I have had the most frustrating experience with Boxtal, and it is still on going. I sent a parcel through them on the 13th November, their partner failed to deliver it and it was returned to their partner's hub in Paris. Boxtal told me that to have the parcel returned to me I would have to pay again, reluctantly I did on 7th December, it is now the 22nd December and still not a sign, each time I phone or email or message I am told to be patient and returns are not a priority, I think as I have had to pay twice I am not being unreasonable to expect a better service. I am a small business and this is a customer's valued possession that needs to be returned immediately as all this inefficiency is reflecting on me, though no fault of mine.
Website states full trackability throughout delivery, joke, my package was picked up in France on the 3rd May and then nothing after 4th May. I contacted them asking who in the UK was making the delivery and where my package was on the 9th, they respond by saying the system would be updated shortly, 2 days later no update, got back to them again asking who their UK contact was....they won't tell me and I am still waiting for the package!!!!
Never using them again it would have been faster going to France and picking up my package.
THEY SHOULD ADVERTISE THEMSELVES AS BEING SNAIL MAIL.
Collected 3 May delivered 14 May, I stand by my earlier statement, this company should have been able to make delivery under a week they are after all just across the pond from the UK.
