Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of the products, citing issues such as manufacturing defects, watches breaking down prematurely, and components like straps and bezels failing. Reviewers also frequently reported problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to access, particularly when seeking repairs or assistance. The high price of the watches was a common point of contention, especially when coupled with perceived poor quality and expensive repair costs. Some people were satisfied with the service they received, highlighting helpful and knowledgeable staff in boutiques, and positive experiences with watch servicing that left their timepieces "like new." However, a small portion of people felt that the company's approach to customer relations was disrespectful, with some feeling pressured to purchase new models instead of having existing issues resolved.

VERY PLEASED WITH BRIETLING AND THEIR REPAIR CENTRE

I recently sent an old Breitling for repair. The process was quick and efficient. Breitling have serviced it in the past and it was always returned in a like new condition. Sadly on this occasion the repair cost was well above it's worth but I've enjoyed 24 years of wearing it on an almost daily basis. Breitling returned the watch at no charge. I will almost certainly purchase another Breitling.

Review of Breitling customer service

I purchased gently used Breitling Avenger (B01 Chronograph 44 Night Mission). Great watch! I contacted Breitling customer service to re-register the watch in my name. It took a few weeks because of NFT process. Breitling had to contact the prior owner to arrange the transfer. Breitling customer service was great and consistently followed up to ensure the transfer (took longer than expected but they got it done!).

Endurance pro missing bezel screw

My wife bought me an endurance pro from Beaverbrooks, 60th birthday. wore it twice before noticing one ot the bezel screw fittings was missing. I took it back to beaverbooks who said they would had to send it for assessment! I was a bit miffed to say the least at spending nearly £3k on a watch one would expect qc to be impeccable. Clearly not the case! Beaverbrooks were ok about it in the end and refunded us. Lesson learned. Having read the reviews just now I am not surprised….. will breitling respond?

Don't buy a breitling

Don't buy a breitling.

Brought a super ocean that stopped working just before the 2 year warranty. Rusted from inside out because of an apparent knock. No markings on the watch to show impact but was enough for them to charge £1600 to fix it

When raised with breitling they just said there's nothing they can do to accommodate

Another thing to add, they don't make anything in house. Buying what you think is a Mercedes but is actually a Renault clio 1.2

Dont buy Breitling!

I would never buy anything from Breitling again and would advise anyone not to. Quality and service are non-existent the only thing that is premium is the price.

The first watch I bought, a Superocean Automatic 42, arrived and had no function whatsoever. Only after numerous emails and several proof videos did Breitlich take the watch back. I then bought an Avenger that was continuously tracking. I had to check it on my own boxes a month after I bought it, the rearatur estimate took three weeks! After further back and forth, the watch was then serviced free of charge, no, not just repaired. I had to wait 5 months for the necessary spare parts from Switzerland. No no apology, no extended warranty instead I got a new repaired watch. The bracelet falls apart after a year of use. no help here either. Breitling is just expensive garbage with an expensive name. If you want a reliable watch, buy Grand Seiko or Omega. Just keep your hands off Breitling

I bought my $5,000 Breitling from Ben…

I bought my $5,000 Breitling from Ben Bridge in Thousand Oaks two years ago. What a piece of crap! I just dropped it off at Ben Bridge for the third time for warrantee service because it can’t keep time (runs way too fast: 5 min fast in one month). My $65 bicycle gps device keeps much better time. I’ve owned one other Breitling and also a Rolex Submariner which both keep perfect time. This is a lemon and I feel so poorly of Breitling I will never again buy any of their products; nor should you. Stand behind your product! Give me a new watch and bury this dud! Your watches are suppose to be 99.99% accurate. Ha!!

Breitling nightmare

I purchased a woman's superocean 36mm for my wife at least 8 years ago. It started fogging up about 6 months ago.
We contacted Breitling service.
We sent it out, the estimate to service the watch for water damage was $1100.
We paid the $1100 up front, we waited 3 months, we received the watch back, it was a totally different watch.
We complained and emailed in pictures, we still do not have a reply. I would not buy another Breitling even if they were going for $300.
So sad. We paid $3800 for the watch $1100 for repair. I guess that's not enough money for Breitling.

Extortionists

I have a battery operated B1 Breitling that needed a new battery and so I contacted their UK offices using their website and opted for a basic service which included the battery replacement. They sent a transportation box and I sent the watch to them using their free mail service (which is a good service). They carried out a watch inspection and provided an online report. This report recommended a full service plus other parts - at a cost of over £1000. I opted to refuse and instead asked them to go ahead with the basic service at a cost of £140. They confirmed they would do this but stated that there would be no warranty on the battery or waterproof seals as I had refused the recommendations. I therefore asked them to return the watch which they are in the process of doing. This appears to be an attempt to extort money out of customers. I stated I accepted responsibility for any failure of the watch components, and yet they refused to give a warranty on a new battery and seals which I was prepared to pay for. This sums the watchmaker up - shame on you!!!
I have ended up replacing the battery and seal myself at a total cost of £37.24, which included polishing the watch strap. Most of this cost was for reusable items. When I opened the watch to replace the battery, the previous watch service (by Breitling)involved fitting the identical battery to what I purchased this time round. Appreciate I wouldn't be able to repair the watch if it developed a fault but given the workmanship, the watch should function for years to come. Those wanting to replace the watch battery themselves:
Battery: CR2320 (by Renata) - Amazon (£3.18)
Watch Back Tool (35mm): £7.68 E-bay
Cape Cod Tin Metal Polish: Amazon - £19.65
Watch Repair Grease (for rubber seal): £4.74 E-bay
35mm O/D 0.8mm O-Ring Gasket: £1.99 E-bay

Having purchased my Breitling watch…

Having purchased my Breitling watch just a couple of months ago I found a fault on it, one of the hands was faulty. I went back to Breitling Knightsbridge hoping for some amazing customer service, not to be!! I was told they would have to check out whether it was a manufacturing fault or a fault caused by me. They did find it was a manufacting fault. I requested a replacement or full refund, this has been refused, they want to repair it! I’m devastated, this was an expensive watch and they were less than sympathetic. I would never recommend Breitling to anyone, and wish I’d been patient enough to buy a Rolex, both parents have the trusted Rolex, with no issues at all. I understand the Consumer Rights Act 2015 entitles me to a full refund or replacement if the goods are faulty, Breitling seem to think they are above the law

Brand new watch was faulty!

I've lost £2600 in one year buying a brand new Breitling Super Ocean here which was faulty.

I bought my watch last summer having owned number of Breitlings.

Within weeks the watch had a fault. I took it back to the shop and was told that it had to be sent away for repair. Months later I got it back.

It then became apparent it had another fault with the automatic movement.

I took it back and asked for a refund. I was told I was not allowed a refund and that it would be sent back again to be fixed. It went away for a substantial amount of time and has now come back to me.

Since then, I have now been told my consumer rights have been breached. I should have been allowed a refund but was miss informed by them. They are now saying there is nothing they can do.

The watch no longer feels special so I don't wear it. I am also worried about the next thing to go wrong with it.

They have offered me £2300 to buy the watch back so I will have lost £2600 in one year due to being sold a faulty watch.

I will not be buying another watch from here and will be taking legal advice on the matter.

I can only warn to buy these watches

I can only warn to buy these watches. I was happy with mine - up to the point I wanted to get them services.
1. The fancy Breitling boutique, showing up on the homepage as service centre, told me they are not responsible for service and I should go to the watch centre ( I am living on the Philippines)
2. The watch centre did tell me they are not allowed or cannot repair the watch as I bought it in Switzerland. I should get it serviced in Singapore (again...I am living on the Philippines - you are sending me to a different country?)
3. The customer service did reply after three days, telling me they are looking at this...this is now 10 days ago, no further reaction.

Specifically for a premium brand a completely disappointment...shocking. Never again! And regret that I bought twice and the impression you get in the fancy shops is different. But having two 10.000 USD watches but cannot get them serviced....makes the complete purchase useless.

Appalling service.

Three months in and no contact from the service department, the standard of customer care is at a very low level, wish I had read these review prior to buying the Navitimer seems they are all bling and no substance.

Believe what you read on this site

Believe what you read here and don’t buy a Breitling watch. I’ve owned mine for ten years and I have spent more in repairs than the watch cost. Which I don’t mind because it’s a daily wear, my problem is the length of time it takes to get it repaired, after all the back and forth, ie; prepayment etc, found out it’ll take 5 months to get it back. Either there is a that many broken watches or nobody to fix them, either way stay away…

DO NOT BUY BREITLING - Extremely Disappointed with Breitling's Quality and Service

I purchased a Breitling Avenger Chronograph 43 in October 2022. From the start, the date adjustment never functioned correctly, but I chose to overlook this issue. On April 11th, 2024, one of the pushers came off. I returned the watch to a Breitling boutique on April 25th, 2024, as the watch was still under warranty. I informed them about the pusher coming off and mentioned the date adjustment issue.

Two weeks later, I received an invoice for £787 to correct the watch, which was less than two years old. I refuted this, insisting it should be covered under warranty, only to be told that the watch's warranty was never registered, and they wouldn't accept the receipt as proof of purchase. Left with no choice as they had my watch, I requested just the pusher to be repaired, which was quoted at £104 on the invoice. However, I then received a second invoice stating the pusher could not be fixed without a mini service costing £357.

I refused this on July 4th and asked for my watch to be returned as I had lost faith and trust in Breitling. The quality of the product does not match the price of the watch and certainly does not reflect in its customer satisfaction for such a prestigious brand. I am absolutely appalled at the level of service. Unless I pay nearly £800 to have my watch brought back to working condition, I have to accept a faulty watch that is less than two years old. Absolutely disgusting.

I have been trying to get this sorted since April 25th, 2024, and here we are, 11 weeks later, and Breitling will not return my watch!

Never Again!

I bought a Breitling Colt Chronograph in 1997. It worked fine and kept excellent time until I sent it in for routine service. When I got it back it would gain about 20 minutes every day. Breitling asked me to send it back for evaluation. They kept if for about a year and told me there was nothing wrong with it. I tried wearing it again and found it still ran fast. For the money I expected more. I put it back in its box and relegated it to the back of my safe. I replaced it with a Rolex Daytona which has worked perfectly for the last 25 years.

Purchase of Breitling Superocean

I recently added to my watch collection with a purchase of a 2022 pre-owned Breitling Superocean, from well known Glasgow Jewellers.
On trying to register watch on my Breitling account there was an issue due to previous owner still not having relinquished ownership on their account.
With a bit of to and fro correspondence with Breitling Customer Services (predominantly with an Egil Agli) issue now resolved and watch now registered to myself.
This should have been something the Jewellers should have ensured was done prior to sale to myself but Breitling managed to do for me, presumably by contacting previous owner.
Thank you Breitling for the support in resolving.😀
Delighted with this watch and my Breitling Colt which was purchased new in 2018.
Great watches that are very reliable and always get compliments from others.

Breitling watches last six to seven months before stop working poor quality uncommitted to precision.

About six months ago, I purchased a $12,000 Breitling, just after 6 months of use, and the watch just stopped working on my wrist, no drops, no water. Today, I brought the watch for warranty and was informed that it will take four months or more to fix... this is completely unacceptable, I currently own two Breitling watches. I was expecting more from the brand, so poor customer service (I waite 45 minutes for the sales person to cameback with this baloney explanation), I imagine they are manufactured in China like an iPhone, or maybe the quality is not there anymore, definitely not investing money on getting anything from this brand or from Mayors, get a Omega or a Hublot if you go with Breitling better get a Casio (believe any Casio or Citizen is probably quite superior to Breitling... remember they expected to last six to seven month!!!) the manager is supposed to call me and let me know when I will be getting the watch back... I hope so.
