Brickhouse Farm Cottages Reviews 

An excellent holiday place - the people, the cottages, the surroundings all brilliant. Had two family holidays here now and planning a third!

We came to Brickhouse Farm for our Honeymoon and we had a fantastic time! We are both full time wheelchair users and have complex medical needs. It was wonderful to be able to go somewhere so peaceful with modern and comfortable accommodation, that also met our physical and medical needs in a discrete way. The outdoor hot tub with overhead tracking hoist was fantastic and really made our honeymoon special. The staff were very helpful, both before, during and after the holiday. We funded our holiday through charitable grants and Brickhouse staff were able to help us by giving us the information we needed regarding the different costings. Brickhouse Farm has a real family feel to it. We would recommend it to anyone, especially anyone who has additional needs. We are excited to see the development of the new café, shop and hydro pool.

We would like to suggest a few ways Brickhouse Farm could improve even further. The controls for the profiling beds have buttons that are very difficult to press. My partner found that he could not press these buttons and this greatly impacted on his week. It would be great if you could either look at updating some of your beds to beds with controls with low resistance buttons, or look into providing alternative access switches for bed control.
We hired a reclining shower chair for the week but unfortunately this did not go over the toilet. For the sake of dignity we prefer to avoid using commode pans wherever possible so we also used one of the standard commodes that goes over the toilet. However, we found this difficult to use without a headrest. It would be great if you invested in an interim solution, a shower chair/commode that goes over the toilet, that also has a high back and head rest. I would suggest something like a Freeway T80 with headrest.

Finally, I appreciate this is a difficult to fix issue and something you are probably aware of, but the road surface coming in and out of the complex needs addressing asap. In our large wheelchair accessible vehicles the dips in the road cause us to get thrown around significantly. This caused significant issues relating to our medical conditions.

Other than these small fixable issues we found Brickhouse Farm to be a peaceful, therapeutic and friendly place and we hope to return in the future. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful Honeymoon experience.

We had a lovely family holiday in Maple cottage which suited our needs. The children loved feeding the ducks and made friends with another child staying nearby. Our grandson was looking forward to the football nets which seemed to have disappeared due to building works. Our disabled daughter loved the hydrotherapy pool and had her first swim for some time, just a bit of a squash in the shower room. The wet room floor seemed very slippery and the wheelchair or shower chair seemed to move at times even with the brakes on. We really needed one more grab rail beside the loo in the wet room to ensure our daughter was stable and balanced when transferring from her chair to the loo. The children loved the hot tub but unfortunately timing meant that our disabled daughter was not able to use this following our lesson with the hoist in the pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we had a query which was not often as everything worked well. It was also very relaxing to have such a lovely countrified setting away from the bright lights of Blackpool. Thank you very much!

Love this place. It's so peaceful. It's like home from home. All the equipment you need and also you can add extras if there's something that you haven't got in the cottage but need something else like shower trolley or shower chair. It's lovely to go somewhere that has got everything you need and you dont have to make do with make shift beds and things. Staff are friendly and helpful. This has been our second year and I would go again.

What a lovely cottage, and lovely surrounding, bedrooms and wet room worked well for the girls and it was great to have ensuite for all the other bedrooms. It was good that we hired the shower bed and not having to transport our own.Wide doors open plan living which worked for both girls in chairs and straight out the patio to look at the ducks on the lake. A very restful week. Cannot wait to return.

Cannot praise Brickhouse Cottages and staff enough. This was our third holiday and just as wonderful as the other 2 with an added bonus of wonderful weather. Our landlord/management team have a lot to learn and should visit Brickhouse for some well needed advice. As the disabled person in the group I cannot praise the adaptations enough. Well done to all concerned.

Another fabulous holiday ! Luxury self catering cottages in a fantastic setting . All the staff and the owners are so helpful and nothing is too much bother.
we have already booked to return for our 3rd visit.

4th year staying at these wonderful holiday cottages for the disabled. Couldn't wish for better facilities and staff. Can't recommend it enough.

We visited Brick House Cottages 29th June - 6th June. We stayed at Chestnut Cottage during our stay. My son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and we havent been able to get away on holiday in a while now My Sons words the moment we arrived were Its So Peaceful and Quiet here. It was great that we had an overhead Hoist and profiling bed like we do at home. Tylers loved using the hot tub which he did almost every night. We all loved our stay here and didnt want to leave. Thank You Very Much for having us and we would really like to visit again sometime xx

It was so wonderful being able to holiday here. With all adaptions in place.
As a family whom has had holidays in the past. We found this the perfect place and stress free. We will definatinatley be returning.
We loved the accessibility to the hot tube using the overhead hoist.

A superb place to have a tranquil holiday.
The cottages are stunning and modern, with excellent disabled facilities.
The staff and owners are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Fantastic cottage, beautiful setting, and lovely people. Everyone was so caring and kind, nothing was a problem. Fantastic place and fantastic people. We would recommend brickhouse cottages to anybody reliant on a wheelchair and their families/carers. Facilities could not have been better. We left an item behind and they posted this out to us without any problems. Central location to nearby coastal resorts.

First time here and guess what ~ we enjoyed it that much we have booked for next year!!!!!
All staff excellent and very helpfull.We stayed in Birch ~ just right for us.
If you want a chilled out week away with somebody who is really disabled ~ this is the place to be!!!
If you go fishing and find it hard to find Holidays for the Disabled again THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO.

Brickhouse Cottages provide an amazing holiday experience for everyone, but especially for those with mobility difficulties. The facilities are discreet but very functional, you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the development if the site. The location is peaceful, but within easy access of the motorway and tourist attractions. The team are welcoming, friendly and make you feel at home away from home. The hydrotherapy pool and access to hot tubs is great and both promote muscle stimulation and relaxation which provides health benefits.

Pine cottage has excellent facilities for wheelchair users.It was lovely and clean and had been tastefully decorated throughout.We would love to return in the near future it was a very peaceful ,relaxing place to stay and would highly recommend it .Thank you

Support staff have taken a lady here 5 x now, its such a good location, nice and peaceful, not too far away from Blackpool. Amazing facilities for people in wheelchairs and need hoisting staff are excellent and cannot help enough. Would 100% recommend. See you in September!
