Terrible customer service!!

Terrible customer service!!! We ordered the wrong seat, realised very quickly and emailed them asking them to change the order. They then replied to say it was too late to change the order but we could send it back. This is also proving very difficult as my husband didn’t receive the email with the QR code and we are again struggling to get through to them. We have tried to phone several times. Each time we were just played music with no indication of where we were in the queue. Each time after holding on for between 15/20 minutes the line went dead. Also their customer service line is only open from 10-12!!!!

I wish we’d read the reviews before buying the seat but assumed they were a premium brand. We will never buy from Britax again.

Car seat broke after only 4 months

I purchased a Kidfix Pro that broke after 4 months. The fabric came away, exposing polystyrene parts that then broke off. Britax acknowledge the polystyrene is very fragile and that the safety of the car seat is now compromised, but say it is not covered by their warranty. Replacement parts are out of stock. There is literally no solution except to buy a brand new car seat, 4 months after buying a Britax. This car seat is meant to last until age 12. The fabric should never have been able to just come off on its own to expose the polystyrene in the first place. The Side impact piece also falls off almost daily. This is an extremely flimsy product.

I now have a newborn who will need a series of car seats over her life. I will never buy Britax again.

Britax Romer booster seat

The SIPS system broke in the first week. They fix in place with very weak plastic clips, my son simply bumping past them while climbing in and out of the chair was enough to snap them. Same for the polystyrene padding around the seat. It sticks proud of the plastic body and quickly crumbled as my son climbed in and out of the seat. If you alter the headrest it very easily lifts out of its proper slot and you have to partially dismantle the seat to slot it back in. Fitting the soft parts of the chair back on after this, or after cleaning is incredibly fiddly. Very poor design decisions throughout. We tried several times to contact both supplier and manufacturer about our concerns and were met with total radio silence.

Critical safety failure – handle came loose while carrying baby, avoid Britax at all costs

I had a deeply disturbing experience with a Britax baby car seat. While carrying my baby in it, the handle suddenly came loose. Had I lost my grip or reacted just a second too late, my baby could have been seriously injured – or worse.

This seat was not old or misused. It simply should not happen. A baby car seat must be designed with absolute safety and reliability in mind. A handle failure is a critical design flaw, and I cannot believe this was even possible in a product from such a well-known brand.

I will never trust Britax again, and I strongly advise other parents to avoid their products. You only realize how important these things are when something goes wrong – and by then, it may be too late.

This could have ended in tragedy. I’m sharing this to warn others. Safety must always come first – and Britax failed on that most basic responsibility.

So many errors, so little decency!

Oh, my! I ordered (& paid for) a very expensive car seat from a baby registry through Britax. I received 2 (?) order confirmations & 1 shipping confirmation which detailed my specs correctly.

12 days later, the seat arrived at MY house (different address & state from mom-to-be) in the WRONG color from the registry link.

I tried to email Britax, they have no email address (RED FLAG). I called them, but they were closed at 1:48 pm PST. I waited until the next morning & called again between 7 & 8 — waited on hold for over a half hour, then was prompted to leave a vm. I did. Nobody returned my call. Because of course they didn’t

I called again. Waited on hold. Nobody answered.

I called a FOURTH time, but then I hit the key for “SALES,” got through in 5 seconds. Because of course I did.

I was connected to someone who has NO AUTHORITY to fix ANYTHING. But it took a very long time for her to admit that.

I explained how EVERYTHING was incorrect in the facilitation of my order. She demanded that I PROVE to HER that the color & delivery were wrong. Huh? She could see ALL of the transactions between her company & me. Still she required me to email her images of the emails THEY sent to ME. I am now livid.

I asked that we move onto the remedy:

This gal said “well, you’ll need to take the package to UPS to be returned to us….”

Um, NO. I was floored. I explained that I had had “no part whatsoever in the mix-up” and that Britax needed to send a UPS pick-up.

“We don’t do that,” she said. “You have to take it to UPS & drop it off. But we WILL help you out by sending a pre-paid label for the return.”

Help ME out?

I stated that this was NOT a ME thing, but a THEM thing. And that I simply WOULD NOT be schlepping a 40lb box to UPS. They needed to pick it up, obviously. She said she could not authorize ANYTHING I was asking for. And she did not appear to fathom WHY I was angry. Not ever.

I then asked to speak to someone who had the authority to actually remedy this problem. “So you are saying you want this escalated?” AFTER THIS WHOLE CONVERSATION.

“YES! Of effing course I do! Are you KIDDING? Transfer me now.”

“I am NOT ALLOWED TO TRANSFER CALLS.” I s you not.

I asked to have my complaint escalated. Who knows what she did.

Waiting for a reply. Just don’t bother w this company. I think they probably have a good product but they are TERRIBLE & INFURIATING when it comes to responsibility, care, decency & integrity.

I will NEVER AGAIN order from Britax.

Avoid. Fault product, bad customer service.

Purchased a pushchair 2022 for it to break within 2 years, a replacement pushchair was sent out immediately, fantastic customer service. The 2nd pushchair failed within 6 months, unable to speak to anyone on the phone, emailed customer service only to be told I have no warranty and basically goodbye. Replacement pushchair was clearly faulty beforehand yet no responsibility held by the company. Now I have no pushchair a 1 year old to carry around.

I bought the full smile set with car…

I bought the full smile set with car seat and a time of extras.
When the high adjustment on the stroller broke I contacted customer service just to ask for tips on fixing it (it’s held together by a piece of wire and plastic.

They ignored my email.
I sent a follow up asking if it had got lost.
They ignored my email.

Until this broke I was very happy with the stroller, after this I realized how many parts are made of cheep materials or simply just badly constructed.

Recommending to all my friends to go for other strollers now.

Really disappointed in the customer service

I originally bought the baby safe 5z which was recalled for faulty handle meaning it could fall off, this was then replaced with britax baby safe 5z2 which has also been recalled with the exact same issue. I understand recalls happen but the fact this has happened again with the same exact issue and how the customer services have dealt with this is shocking. Every email is responded to by a different person and none seem to actually read what's been said and just send a generic response that doesn't even make sense to what's been sent to them. Really disappointed as I thought this was a good brand.

Absolutely shocking customer service.
Car seat has lasted just over 2 years when it should last 7 years. I’ve paid premium prices for a specialist seat and it’s unusable in less than half the time it should’ve lasted. Terrible customer service. Will 100% be avoiding this company and will be telling friends and family to steer clear!

Terrible quality

Bought a britax max way plus 2 years ago which should last until around 6 years old (25kg). Had no end of problems with the clip twisting on the belt so having to take entire belt apart to put the clip straight again, and seat always feeling loose on the cars internal chairs after every journey.
Final nail in the coffin - Took the cover off to wash again and the polystyrene around the base of the straps is disintegrating on both sides.
Emailed customer services who state they no longer have spare parts as the seat is discontinued and also can’t recommend any other supplier or correct grade of polystyrene to replace this as it isn’t tested by them! So my barely 2 year old seat is now rendered useless and unsafe. Absolutely no attempt to rectify the issue. Will not be paying out for a britax again, will go back to maxi cosi.

Terrible product

Terrible product.
The seating angle is 45 degrees making the child legs go up.
Also, nearly impossible to get the cover off to clean. Took me half an hour and i literally got blood on my fingers.

I will not buy a Britax product again

Bought a Britax Romer KIDFIX S about 18 months ago.
It has not had much use as it is just for when we look after our grandson. One of the isofix clamps has jammed and does not clamp shut to hold the seat in position. I contacted Britax customer services and explained that I could not find my receipt, but sent a photograph of the fault and of the barcoded label on the back of the car seat which had a date of manufacture of 17/07/2021, whish showed that the seat must have been purchased less that 2 years ago. I was told to take it back with the receipt to the shop. Did anyone actually read my email? I emailed again to point this out. I have had no reply.
I also offered to change the clamp if an alternative was supplied, but apparently no spares are supplied.
This was one of the most expensive car seats in the shop, but I thought I was buying a reliable quality item. I wont by anything from Britax again.

"Just buy a new one"

I purchased a rotating Britax seat a couple years ago. Unfortunately the straps developed mould after being stored in my pick up truck.

I contacted Britax to purchase a replacement set. I was informed that they don't sell them as they are built into the seat. This was after I've already removed the old ones as it just requires removing a dozen or so screws.

Told that i needed to buy a completely brand new seat instead. Well that won't be happening and there's no chance I will ever be giving them anymore of my money. Terribly to deal with and no regard for the plastic waste and environmental impact of chucking out a perfectly good seat. Disgraceful behaviour.

Smile 3

bought smile 3 and unfortunately the basket underneath is so high that you have to pull out with force what ever is stored there if you have the carrycot, which has resulted in the fabric breaking.
And we have bought the carchair primo and it should work until 13kg. My son is now 7.5kg and won't fit in it anymore as he is a little wider.

Britax UNSAFE seat lasted less than two years

Bought a Britax car seat from here two years and three weeks ago - a seat that's supposed to be usable from 3-12 years. Yet after only minimal wear, the polystyrene inside has snapped in half. I've been told it's not a manufacturing fault, so I've been asked to PAY to replace the polystyrene. This is not recommended for safety reasons as it's the polystyrene that absorbs the shock in a car accident. Britax are allegedly one of safest seats on the market. Not true! I certainly won't be putting my son in their chair again. Very annoying to be out of pocket £200++ as a result.

Smile 3: Manufacturing fault in all trollers

Smile 3 trollers have manufacturing fault and Britax can't send a new troller to replace the fault one, so if you can't afford to buy 2 trollers (while waiting for replacement), then you're stuck with the faulty one. Terrible customer service.

Over 1 hour wait on the phone line

Awful company. I waited over 1 hour to ask a simple but important question on product compatibility. Annoying automated message that tells you queue progress every 15 seconds to rub salt into your wait. Sort it out and invest in your customer services team. Your charging £170 for a car seat and customer service is done on the cheap.
