My recent visit for Levingtons Compost was for sale with a saving of £ 5.48 if buying 2 bags. I also found a coat at a greatly reduced price so I had a most successful visit. Ending with a most personable friendly member of staff at the till. Many thanks and a recommendation for the staff member named Annie G.

I have been coming to this garden centre / nursery for over 38 years - now Tansley Barn in Matlock/ The restaurant has gone steadily down hill since being taken over by British Garden Centres. Today the Steak and Ale Pie (from the Specials Menu) was all but inedible. It was far, far too salty and the pastry was way below the usual standard. I have to say the vegetables were adequate and the carrots superb, but the rest was so salty it ruined the whole meal.

This Garden Centre was aquired from Wyevale when they sold all their garden centre's. We go into the Restaurant regularly to have lunch as a family. Facilities are good and dogs are allowed in a separate marquee extension. Food is constantly excellent. Staff are friendly. Good choice on the menu and specials including vegetarian. Food always comes out quickly. Prices are average but more than made up for by the service and menu choice. Afternoon tea is by appointment and excellent.

Bought plant online. BGC sent me wrong plant. They would not refund or send me appropriate packaging to return a live (now larger) plant. They expected me to return in perfect condition at my own cost.

Great service for a difficult customer! We live outside the UK so we weren't a straightforward transaction. However, everyone we dealt with was so helpful and we received our table and chairs with the minimum of fuss.

I received the gift card 2 days after I purchased it. This gift card is a Christmas present for my mum.

I revisited a garden centre that I used to visit on a regular basis. Hadn’t been for a few months and was very disappointed with what I was greeted with.
I ordered the brunch omlette and the size of this food item had halved in size. Very very disappointing especially when the price had increased.
Will not be returning.

Irton garden centre breakfast. Very disappointing, eaten here a few times before but the other day we called in and it was inedible. Sausage sandwich clearly micro-warmed up sausages horrible bread, way way too much margarine … so disappointed, the coffee was so weak it may as well have been milk an water, complete waste of money.

We ordered in store with a promised delivery within 2 weeks it’s now week 3 no delivery and no one seems to know where our order is or when it might be delivered. Call backs are promised when we ring the store but they don’t always happen.
£1300 of our money gone and nothing to show for it

We purchased what was described as trailing lobelia in blue and in white. Neither sorts were trailing, both sorts were short lived, and the "white" turned out to be pale mauve. In contrast, those we bought at the local pound shop were correctly described and are still going strong.

The staff are always friendly and there is always a good selection of plants

Hardly any of the many plants bought from last year have survived or reappeared. I have bought some of your plants this year for one more try.

HI
My last visit to your new aquisition Langlands garden centre was on the whole pretty good
My dislikes are you are to discontinue the sandwiches and cakes which are very popular in the walters snack bar and some of the main dishes in the main restaurant are not now offered
I have heard you are to start having to order from a board instead of going to the desk and looking at the food on offer
This sounds to me very like Macdonalds next door and I dont think it will bode well with your Langlands customers who have been loyal for years
Also why have you stopped the points system on my old Langlands card we used to mount them up until near Christmas and then cash them in
Otherwise so far nothing has changed a great deal but I hope it does not become like my local Whiteleys centre which is now a mere shadow of ots former self
Looks like big buisness is taking these family owned garden centres slowly but surely

Lovely morning at the garden centre got all we needed for a very reasonable price and best of all went to have a coffee then fancied a bacon sandwich but unfortunately we were to late the breakfasts had finished but the lovely chef said he would do one for us how great was that

It has revived a good but depleting existing company but gladly has kept its hard working and loyal staff except the original cook
This center was renowned for it quiches but sadly the new cook isn’t providing the same good quality but the cafe staff are so good and hard working like they always were
