I attended a 3 day online live classroom IOSH Managing Safely Training course through British Safety Council with trainer Brian Prout.
The online access to the course was very straight forward and despite a minor issue with getting access to the online portal/learning materials this was rectified quickly and efficiently by Gemma Quealy ahead of the first day of the course.
Brian led the course in a very appropriate manner balancing information, training, delegate input and banter excellently and tailoring examples to the individuals/individual sectors on the course making it all the more relevant.
Regular breaks were given during each day as the majority of people were working from home giving the ability to get a top of water/tea/coffee etc and Brian was on hand throughout to answer any questions or point people in the right direction of what to look for.
Brian was also fantastic at managing technical gremlins for individuals on the course never letting any issues become a sticking point during the training and used Zoom very effectively using breakout rooms and polls which were very cool features.
The online knowledge check modules were very useful and the online test was challenging but tested the information given during the training very well.
I have just to complete the Work Based Project aspect of the course which has 2 weeks after the final training day submission date and good guidance/information is also provided with this.
Highly recommend British Safety Council as a provider and Brian as a trainer!

The course was very useful and gave me guidance on how to deal with stress at work.

The course was great especially due to the help I recieved from the tutor Adrian Van Loon who went out of his way to help each person in his class. He raised our confidence for the final exam and made the course engaging and interactive for everyone involved.

Just finished the IOSH Managing Safety course and managed a pass so very happy, but would not have been able to achieve this without the expert tutoring I received from Adrian Van Loom. Excellent course and would recommend to all as an insight into Health and Safety.

I've just completed the IOSH Managing Safely course with Adrian Van Loon. I was dreading this course, due to it being 'Health & Safety' but Adrian was really engaging and made it fun. He allowed people to speak and also allowed people to use the chat which personally, i found very helpful as it suited all the participants personalities whether they were confident interacting. I have learnt a lot in the last 3 days and thankful for his time. :)

I will be taking more time for myself to complete jobs at work
And i will do more DIY at home
I attended an online 'virtual' course. The course was interactive and engaging. (This was something I had worried might not be as achievable with it not being classroom based/face to face) However you were always kept engaged with a lot of group work and discussions. I found the course very insightful and not only made me think about the environmental impacts in the workplace but also in my personal life!!

I recently completed the IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management via the online classroom platform. Attending a full course via Zoom was a totally new experience and the tutor Keith used the available technology to full advantage and it was a great mix of learning and interaction. It was such an interesting course but highlighted how vast the subject area is. Definitely made me want to progress further and will be looking to undertake more training in this area.

I attended the online Zoom NG1 training course led by Gavin. I thought it was a very positive and engaging session, going through content that I was a little unsure of. Being an online candidate, some topics were a struggle to go through alone, but Gavin made the topics straightforward and easy to follow. It was exactly as I had hoped the revision session would be. Many thanks.

The advice from Phil at BSC was excellent and really tailored to our needs. The interactive session really helped us get our advice right, and with confidence.

I work for a large global organisation in the health insurance space. I'm leading on the roll-out of Mental Health Awareness training for People Managers. We partnered with the British Safety Council to develop a 'managing the conversation' course for our managers. So far we've used BSC's internal facilitators to deliver to two of our sites. We are now in the next phase, where we'll be internally accredited and supported to deliver in-house.
Working with the British Safety Council has been a wonderful experience. They are clearly passionate and committed to helping organisations achieve the best outcomes in relation to the safety and well-being of people and customers.
The facilitators we've worked with are both highly experienced in the field of mental health and well-being, bringing to life the subject in a compassionate and authentic way.
The account managers and SMEs I've worked with to shape the proposition have been so responsive and engaging, regularly checking in on progress and being on the end of an email/Teams call when needed.
Overall a fantastic experience that has left a lasting impression within my well-known organisaiton.
Thank you!

I attended the virtual online course in place of the face to face sessions that would have run. It was a great course, well structured with a good balance of teaching, workshops and individual work. The tutor was really good as he was able to add real experiences as examples of scenarios we discussed.

I have just received my Pass certificate for my Level 5 Diploma.
The support I was given by both my assessor and my BSC account manager has been excellent, I couldn't thank them enough.
Upkaar and Jamie McDonald. Great people! Thank you so so much for all your support.

Sigma have a been a long time user of the British Safety Council, in both its online platform based courses and classroom based, we have also recently started to uses the online certificate courses with good results and feed back.
The online platform I would recommend very highy, the training is very good and easy to control, and this simplicity makes it very useful in creating a H+S KPIs on training.
The safety awards are also one of the best ways for an organisation to rewards staff who have contributed to the safety effort throughout the year.
The account manager we use "Niraj" is again top drawer and works with Sigma to ensure our training offering is upto date and at the best value possible.
From my point I would reccomend getting involved with British Safety Council on numerous fronts.

We undertook a 5 star Audit with the British Safety Council and the service and experience could not have been better.
The audit started just as the first lockdown to force this reduced the opportunities to conduct the audit process traditionally, it was therefore conducted a a remote audit process. this presented unique challenges as we are in the shipping business but through excellent communications and partnership with the auditors from the BSC this was completed in time to submit for the Sword of Honour. The flexibility shown by the auditors and the British Safety Council, as a whole, was one of the main reason the audit could be completed on time.
I would thoroughly recommend the British safety councils approach, commitment and professionalism in conducting and completing this audit.

Do not go with the British safety Council for online coarses waste of time, when you ring for advise its like ur being a burden they take your money then if you want help they say someone will ring you back they never do, if you have a problem with an exam they say someone will get back to you they never do and when your talking about the coarse you have paid for they haven't a clue what your talking about,if things change prior what you have been told about the course when you have signed up and paid for they don't notify you and when they are fed up with you they hang up on you, health and safety is not their priority

I have been running an external test centre for the BSC. The staff where always friendly and have been more than helpful especially now with the Corvid Restrictions. They went out of their way many times to facilitate the testing of students in a safe and timely manner. The processes and interaction have improved so much to make it user friendly. I even received a remote audit which was carried out with understanding and care with the restrictions and limitations in place. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all concerned especially to Maria Lopez and Zack Cheek and I wish them well in the future.
