From Trusted Local Garage to Unacceptable Negligence & Intimidation
After two very positive experiences with this business in Autumn 2025, I am bitterly disappointed and shocked by my recent experience. I am sharing this factual account to ensure local residents are aware of the risks and the treatment I received when a safety-critical issue was raised.
The Initial Fault:
I attended for a window washer fault. I paid a £144 diagnostic fee, was told it was an unidentified electrical issue, and was sent elsewhere. In reality, it was a simple 10-amp blown fuse, which a specialist I went to identified immediately. More alarmingly, my car was returned to me with a torn wheel arch liner catching on the suspension and a leaking reservoir—damage that was not present before the car was in their care.
Resolution & Invoicing Issues:
Although I was eventually refunded the diagnostic fee after presenting evidence from a specialist, the process was fraught with discrepancies. My Invoice (#16573) stated they had "fit new washer motor," yet I was told my original had been refitted. When I questioned this, the manager was confrontational and used profanity.
Intimidation & Misrepresentation:
After I initially attempted to share this feedback on another platform, the owner (Sal) subjected me to sustained email harassment in an attempt to have the feedback removed.
Corporate Confusion: The owner repeatedly claims that Brighton Road Motors Ltd only sells vans and is separate from the garage. I have the physical Invoice (#16573) clearly branded with this company name and featuring their specific payment instructions, which I am ready to provide to this platform for verification.
Aggressive Tactics: Rather than addressing the mechanical failings, the owner has resorted to personal slurs—calling me a "scumbag," "low life," and a "scam"—and threatened legal action to force the removal of my feedback.
Review Suppression: This account was previously removed from another platform following reports from the owner. I have retained timestamped screenshots of the company website explicitly advertising "MOT & Repairs" to prove that this is a verified, factual account of a repair service that the owner is now attempting to deny.
Conclusion:
It is a shame that a business I once trusted has resorted to intimidation to hide a failure in "reasonable care and skill." I have reported these aggressive commercial practices to the authorities. I strongly advise customers to keep all paperwork and verify that work matches their invoice.
