Message for Vanessa. Don't give up.

Message for Vanessa. Please read all my reviews. Contact Companies House, contact Citizens Advice, contact the Police fraud team, contact the Ombudsman, contact Watchdog and Rip off Britain. It is very time consuming and you may well then get threatening phone calls from either Billy or Edward, but it must be worth it. We haven't had any money back yet, but they have promised that we will get it back, which so far is a lie. Good luck. It is seriously upsetting. We are pensioners too.

This company has defrauded my 84 year old mother who has cancer. I am beyond angry and shocked. Please can I ask those who have had the same experience to please share with me details of what they’re doing to get their money back and /or to put this company and it’s director out of business. Thank you, Vanessa

BTM installations are SCAMMERS

BTM installations are SCAMMERS, they are taking people’s money and giving them nothing in return, my elderly mother was tricked into signing up for a 15 year maintenance contract that she didn’t want or need, the representative that visited her convinced her she had a problem with her solar system & it would cost thousands to repair & her best bet was to sign up for the maintenance contract at a cost of nearly £3500, when I found out I called to cancel & backed it up with an email confirming we were exercising our right to cancel within the cooling off period, we were told 7 to 10 working days and our money would be refunded, nearly 3 months later & we’ve received nothing, BTM installations have stopped all communication & we never get any further than a remote receptionist who takes a message with a promise of a call back that never comes, Billy Thomas McNamara is a liar & a thief who will disappear with your money, steer clear- you have been warned.

Edit: to this date BTM Installations have not submitted any company accounts, they are already 2 months late with this, also the so called director Billy Thomas McNamara has already registered a new business with companies house called Star Solar Ltd so I’d give them a very wide berth too.

Edit 2: we have successfully managed to get my mothers money back via a chargeback through her bank despite her having originally paid with a debit card, there were lots of forms to fill in & hoops to jump through but we did it eventually, to anyone else in the same situation it’s definitely worth a try, just contact your bank & request a chargeback & they will send you the necessary forms to complete with all the information you have, then they will conduct their own investigation into these scumbags & attempt to retrieve your money for you.
Message for Billy as you aren’t man enough to to respond to us, you caused months of worry to my mother by taking her much needed money & refusing to give it back, what goes around comes around!

BTM Installations Ltd - good start, deteriorating rapidly.

We purchased a battery system for our existing Solar installation and all went smoothly. We were then offered an add-on battery as a special manufacturer promotion. This was when our problems started. We ordered and paid for an extra battery and then after further consideration changed our minds and cancelled our order. WE were told our Credit card payment would be refunded and it would take 7 to 10 working days. Three months have now passed and we have still not seen the refund. Is this fraud or theft? I have contacted the company regularly and they have made many promises but none have been fulfilled. Contacting anyone in authority in BTM seems to be impossible. If you call their listed number you get a receptionist who can never put you through to anyone. This is because the receptionist is a temp working remotely and has no way of transferring a call. BTM's way dealing with clients, except when want to close a sale, is to ignore them and hope they go away. Their customer services appear to be non-existent. Furthermore their prices seem to be on the high side. I discovered that a 2.4kwh pylontech battery can be bought from a UK distributor for £820.00 inc. VAT
I would not advise anyone to deal with BTM which is a shame because they started off so well.

BTM has made many promises to us but not carried them out.

Two charming reps inspected our PV Solar system, suggested action, drew up a 3 point contract on 04/01/23 (1. New inverter under warranty. 2. Install voltage optimiser. 3. Install new inverter; remove and wire complete system in a better location in the loft.) We paid £5,102.40.
Item 2 was carried out the next day. BUT nothing else. We have phoned, emailed and written. There were pleasant phone answers but never anyone with authority to speak to. There were about three phone calls to us promising a visit, but no one came. One call promised a full refund if the work was not completed by the end of the next week. But no such thing happened.
It has been a disappointing, stressful and depressing experience.
We would advise: keep away from this company.

I want to put 0 stars but it seems…

I want to put 0 stars but it seems there is no option. Do not touch this company as you can read with the later reviews. Sadly a salesman contacted my elderly vulnerable parents and drew them into the 2 faulty panels and 15 year maintenance package thing on 22nd May 2023. My mother cancelled the contract within the 14 days cooling off period in an official email to the cancellation email address on 1st June 2023. Why would you sell a 15 year package to an 82 and 91 year old? So totally mis-sold. What is the chance of the company being still in business after 15 years? Many companies go bust in this area. Derek Underwood from Solar Edge phoned back the same day after I requested a call 1st June as I wanted to discuss what my mother had paid for and we wanted to know more about it and whether to cancel. My brother
took the call and said my parents wanted a full refund as they didn't understand what they had bought. Derek Underwood said the refund would be issued 7 to 10 working days after that. We are still waiting after emails to their accounts team and phone calls to the call centre who are now flagging the company up to their management. I explained to the call centre and told them they only have to look at these reviews to have some major concerns here. Do they really want to be working for them? I have taken the refund to my mother's credit card company and have raised a dispute as BTM installations are holding the money illegally now and mis-selling plays a major part. Obviously BTM installations are a case for BBC watchdog and Trading Standards. It causes a huge amount of stress and anxiety to all those waiting for refunds. I know how you all feel. We dealt with Solar Edge who seem to work under BTM installations so be warned with both operating names.

Poor customer service

I was contacted by this company and was persuaded to install extra storage batteries to my existing system with a rebate of half the cost of £3800 to be returned to me within 30/60 days, this was on 19th May 2023. On the 22nd May 2023 I was called again and offered 2 more storage batteries for the same price but with all the money to be refunded in 14 days, I accepted this at the time but after considering this overnight I thought this was to good to be true, I therefore cancelled the whole order on the 23rd May 2023. The second payment was paid by debit card. I have rang a number of times each time I am told someone will call me back, no one has. As a number of other reviews show this is not a one off, I therefore will take further action with my bank and credit card company.

Unsatisfactory work and communication

We were told by BTM that our previously installed solar and battery system (not installed by this company) required a regulator. They came and installed it over 2 visits as well as 2 no shows. The first time they didnt even connect it to the inverter. Within 2 days of installation our solar generation and export dropped to virtually nothing.
Following numerous phone calls, both answered and unanswered, and emails the promised engineer visits did not materialise nor did promised refund of payment to our bank account. Matter was only resolved when Lloyds Bank pursued a Section 75 claim as paid part by credit card.
We spoke with Dave at Nottingham and a couple of men who said they were directors and all their promises came to nothing.
We found another electrician to disconnect their work who informed us that the unit installed was never designed to work on our system.

Unhappy client continued

Following on from my previous review, this is what has happened since then.

In accordance with the recommendation of the Citizens Advice, I sent a ‘Signed For’ “letter before action” letter to BTM Installations Ltd giving them 14 days to respond to the letter.

Yesterday, 14 days after they officially signed for and received the letter, I received back my opened letter with their address blocked out and RTS written on the envelope, with no other comments.

Not surprisingly, I’ve not heard anything else from the company and I will be contacting Citizens Advice to ask what is my next action to take.

In the mean time, I’ve sent details of my issues with the company to the BBC programs “Rough Traders” and “Rip Off Britain” and I’ve also contacted “Action Fraud” who have asked me to submit a report on the case to them, which is work in progress at the moment.

I would recommend anyone considering contacting BTM Installations Ltd. to read this report, and my previous report, and the 6 other 1 star reports before they pay the company any money. I certainly regret not reading the other negative reports before I put pen to paper and payed them the money direct from my bank account.

I’ve now submitted a report to Action Fraud giving them full details of the failure of BTM Installations Ltd to refund my outstanding remainder of the money I paid the company.

I’m now waiting to speak to Citizens Advice as to my next action for my claim.

The Citizens Advice have said that my next step is to make a claim through the Small Claims Court.

Once again BTM contacted me and promised me my refund payment was imminent. When the payment wasn’t made as promised, and just what I expected, I contacted them and twice they said they would ring me, but as usual no call was received.

They are experts at breaking their promises, they obviously don’t have any regard to the fact they have obtained money from clients fraudulently.

I will be contacting Action Fraud once again to update them of the latest situation.

I have written a report and submitted the report to Action Fraud and they are investigating the contents of the report. I have also sent a report to Watchdog and Rip Off Britain.

I would advise all those customers who’ve not had their money returned to them by BTM to send a report outlining their case to Action Fraud so that they can create a case on the fraud the company are committing. The more evidence they receive, the stronger the case can be developed.

We must put up an untitled front to challenge the fraudulent way BTM operate.

Please can all those who have been victims of BTM refusing to pay back their clients money, write reports of how much BTM owe them and their experiences with BTM and submit the report to the BBC’s Watchdog & Rip Off Britain programmes so hopefully they will name and shame BTM on TV, that way we may get BTM to refund the money they have not refunded to its clients.

The company status is reported as “Active proposal to strike off” with effect from the 4th August 2023.

On the 4th April this year, Billy Thomas McNamara, the only director named with regards to BTM Installations Ltd., launched Star Solar Ltd., and is now trading with the new company.

Beware of BTM Installations

in August of 2022 BTM Installations installed PV panels and battery storage at my property. After numerous requests and broken promises they have not issued an MCS certificate. I find they are not authorised to do so. Accordingly I am unable to apply for feed in to the grid recompense. I have investigated an alternatve to the MCS and supplied BTM by recorded delivery with the method of doing so. No reply or relevant documents have come to hand. So far I have fed to the grid over 1350 Kwh and because of BTM am unable to obtain any recompense. Further, when I come to sell my property will likely have to take less because of inabiity to be paid for PV feed in to the grid.
Beware of doing business with BTM Installations.

BTM Installations pyramid scheme

This company was set up during Covid and has never issued any annual accounts.

TrustPilot is the only site BTM Installations take any notice of so here we go again with a third review having taken down the previous 2 as requested after repayment promises broken.

The case that started in March was still not settle by late May as per yet another promise to make a refund passed so will continue with Nationwide BS Section 75 Chargeback claim to recover unpaid debt for work not even started.

Only pay by Credit Card so you can reclaim anything owed. via the CC Company BTM are effectively running a pyramid scheme using new money to pay off old debts and will eventually collapse in the same way all such schemes do.
