Purchased a car from budget motors Caerphilly ! Car well within my budget, lots of history with the car! Well happy Kris was very helpful

Never written review before but I have to warn people of the upset this company has caused my daughter and her young family do not trust mot as one week
Later the brakes had to be changed so how on earth did it pass ??? Two weeks into purchase car undrivable , she has suffered verbal abuse and constant lies of owner being in prison another one is real owner someone off work to get turkey teeth another just returned after break up another mental health and that is just a snipet

I bought a Mercedes B180 off Budget cars it was given a brand new MOT with no advisories and the car was ready on time

They breached a signed agreement and now ignore our emails, calls and texts.
We paid a £100 refundable holding deposit for a car. After not receiving the information we had asked for, we decided to purchase a car from elsewhere. However, we are being refused the £100 refund.
Kris comes across as friendly and helpful at first but as soon as you decide to go elsewhere he becomes very rude and unprofessional.
If I could give less than one star I would!
We will be following the legal process to get our money back.
Please listen to the reviews for this place as we are clearly not the first people they have breached a signed agreement with.

As per my google review, cameron (new manager) has done an amazing job at helping me find my first car and sat with me to go through insurance companies and what works best for me, he went out of his way on his day off to deliver the car and has been so helpful throughout my experience here, the price was right and i couldnt of asked for anything better i love my car thankyou! Good luck in future.

We have purchased 2 vehicles between our family members this week and only had a small issue with one (which has been rectified already)!
I'm extremely happy about the service that's been provided by Cameron and he shows that genuine people are still out there! He has been a pleasure to deal with and really did go the extra mile, thanks again I'll be back for my next motor👍

BIGGEST REGRET. I was robbed of a happy experience of getting a first car after passing . Weve had so many issues with them it’s unbelievable we were charged a higher price then what was advertised on Auto Trader and refused a refund for it, the car was delayed after a failed MOT. They do not fulfil promises & they have the worst customer service , swearing and shouting. They also didn’t send the V5 !! The car broke down multiple times and there was multiple existing problems with the vehicle and it ultimately was not fit to drive after only 1month . We’ve asked for a full refund and they’re refusing and ignoring us….

In my opinion these people are a load of liars who wouldn't know the truth if it punched them on the nose. We bought a car from them on 2/3/23. We actually got the car 7 weeks later with some of the work still to be done. We had 7 weeks of you'll have it on Wednesday you'll have it on Saturday and I'll ring you tomorrow and lots of time didn't even answer our calls. In the end we got so fed up we demanded the car brought it home and booked it into a reputable garage to be fixed. My advice would be to avoid these peop!e at all costs

I would highly recommend Chris and this company. Purchased a vehicle online which is the first experience I’ve had,Chris was lovely and very helpful all the way through. The Car was delivered and lovely and clean. The car was well worth the asking price and I am well over the moon with it. Absolutely genuine honest guy that goes above and beyond for his customers also he kept me informed in every process and also helped me with the tax and paperwork. Thank you so much for such a pleasant experience

Avoid at all costs. Never sent the greenslip off to DVLA - I now have to pay £25 to have it registered in my name. They promised to have a new MOT waiting when I drove over 100 miles to pick up the car - it wasn't done, it them failed - and they had to deliver it to me the following week - with a windscreen with a chip in it, and electric wing mirrors not working, no log book as promised, no extra key as mentioned. One year on, despite me having it serviced regularly it needs a whole new engine.

Don't trust this company I was really ripped off with car I had it cost me more than the car was worth they a disgusting you got no help what so ever with them they will completely ignore you what ever you say so be very careful and be warned its to late when it happenes trust me

What can I say…AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Firstly, Google the owners name (You’ll find it on companies house if you search Company number 13748760) then decide if you want to shop here….then read the below…

The salesperson, Cameron seemed knowledgable about the car (Peugeot 207cc) and claimed it had a good MOT and service history.

IT DID NOT.

It turns out the car had inherent faults and had covered just 500 miles since 2018! It had failed pretty much every MOT since 2012.

None of this was mentioned any only pass certificates were shown.

The engine began running really rough due to an issue with the timing chain and the reverse sensors died.

Was back in for repair after a week as they had masked an Engine Management Light fault in order to pass the MOT along with the other faults.

They had the car a full week and I was left car less. Continually chasing.

I was informed it was taking longer as the engineer was doing the work ‘on the sly’ at Griffin Mill Peugeot.

Then they were waiting on a ‘part’.

Then this changed to being that the car was actually down in a garage in Rhoose in South Wales.

Finally the car was returned, all seemed well.

Drove 10 mins to put fuel in, but once fuelled, when starting up the fault reoccurred. This was after a £90 top up.

Got home and again all that had been done is the Engine Management Light had been switched off, no work had been completed.

I discovered this as I plugged in my OBD2 checker (bought from Amazon - very useful device) and the light had simply been reset.

I called to advise issue was back, and that evening they dropped off a ‘courtesy’ car to my home and took my car away for repair, running as Cameron agreed, very rough.

On further investigation around the vehicle, I rejected the car under Consumer Rights Act.

14 days passed and no money back.

After a visit to their premises as my calls and texts were being ignored, I was promised it would be refunded after the bank holiday.

A partial refund was received however they kept £200 back to cover the cost of the ‘courtesy’ car!!!

The only time I used the car was to drive back down after rejecting the Peugeot!

At no point did I agree to a charge for a ‘courtesy’ car (which defeats the purpose of something being ‘courtesy’) or signed anything to say I was actually hiring the car.

The ‘courtesy’ car was also faulty as the digital screen for all the driving aids and fuel level didn’t work, neither did the heating.

Trading Standards are involved, however just save yourself the hassle and avoid at all costs.

If anything happens, they’ll become more and more difficult to get hold of then stop replying.

And it’ll be you, the customer (should say VICTIM) who’ll be doing all the chasing.

THE MOST HORRENDOUS BUYING EXPERIENCE OF ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFETIME.

I beg to differ.

The only reason this gets one star is because of the lovely little dog the guy keeps in the office! They are full of BS! I told them the tracking needed adjusting & they kept saying “ring back & we’ll book it in”. I took it back & told them there was a problem with the clutch. The lad took it out with me & agreed there was, until we got back & the boss was there! He then went all soft & said ummm might be a bit soft. They tried to tell me it had had a new clutch 6 months ago! Rubbish! I had the paperwork & there was no evidence, so they said to ring back & they would book it in to be checked. After 7 or 8 calls & being told all kinds of stories, they stopped answering my calls! I took the car to a reputable garage & had to pay £36 to get the tracking done. Getting a bit suspicious now, I joined the RAC & booked it in for a 100 point check which found 3 problems at a cost of £255 and they told me it needed a new clutch! Another £600 later their promise of a “you get 3 months but I give a 6 month warranty, just come back to me” a is complete fairy tale! Complete waste of space! Now, I’m not saying I don’t like the car itself, I wouldn’t have bought it, but the BS, stories & runaround you get is disgraceful! If you don’t mind risking spending a lot more after you’ve paid for the vehicle, fine, but if you want after sales service, go somewhere else.
Oh and if anyone from HMRC wants a chat, the lad told me a few interesting things too

After viewing what looked to be a very pretty jeep online, I arranged an appointment to view and purchase the vehicles from the boys at budget motors, they went above and beyond to help me, the car was better in person than the photos, I since had an issue which i took the car back and it was resolved within hours, outstanding service and top top boys, won't go anywhere else to buy a car in the future!!

Terrible company .

Was given a courtesy car that had no mot or tax which meant the insurance was void.
It had also been in crash prior to me having it which resulted in structural damage.
Drove it for a week before becoming aware of the situation, i could had lost my license if stopped by the cops
They have stopped answering phone calls and texts once I asked for the car I purchased or my money back .
There's long list of customers that have been ripped off by budget motors.
I'm now in the process of taking them to the small claims court to try and get my money back on a vehicle that was never ready.
Trading standards are now involved along with the police .

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!
We visited Budget Motors Caerphilly after finding what we thought was our next family car, Monday 19th Aug 2021 We were dealt with by Nathan, who presented himself as "not being dodgy or a shark" we paid a £200 deposit for a navy blue Saab 9-3 which we agreed we would pick up on the Friday due to giving him time to have a new MOT and a full valet. Friday came and went with excuse after excuse, still no car and no actual date in sight. Having contacted him and the business owner on numerous occasions for the return of our deposit, we have now been blocked by them so we are unable to arrange for our deposit to be returned, we made the mistake of paying in cash, although we did make him produce a receipt as he was trying to blag us into paying without any proof. we have now consulted citizens advice, and trading standards to ensure that these fraudulent sharks get shut down. ( you will be told that Nathan and Christian or Tristan are trying to go independant from budget motors yet it is their number that is on the business page) please please please do not fall victim to these people. We also found out today that the saab is now back up for sale. Just for information and to protect yourself get an app that allows you to check the service and MOT history as this car failed and still hasnt been put through an new MOT, it has dodgy power steering issues and others. it also has existing HPI which they try to tell you takes a while to be wiped off.. This is untrue. They shouldn't be allowed to trade under any business name as they are as dodgy as the motors they try to sell to people... We got our deposit back after trading standards spoke to them.

Went to look at a jeep here and was told on my first visit by one sales guy it was only 2 owners from new.
On my second visit i was told it's 4 owners from new.
Once I had paid a deposit i was told it's 5 owners from new.
When I changed my mind about having the jeep I was told I will have my full deposit refunded with in 5 working days after 3 weeks of been messed around and told a load of old rubbish about how it was taken so long to give me my money back and given every excuse under the sun. I had to let the card company deal with it.
I would not recommend anyone to go to this very dodgy garage as customer satisfaction is not there policy.

Bought a car from them that was going to be delivered the next day paid 600 pounds deposit with Gareth, they then told me there was a fault !! I did not want to take it under (common law breach of contract) asked for deposit back 3 months later nothing so of to court.

I bought a Kia Ceed from this very dodgy company in July 2017. Initially the two people that run this farce of a company were very nice, but after I bought the car they lost all interest in looking after me. The owner took the car for an MOT which incidentally took TWO WEEKS and it had to have some gearbox work done, plus they led me to believe that it also had a new clutch fitted. The owner then promised me that he would send me the paperwork to keep the cars history up to date, this never happened. They also did not bother to valet the car and all they were interested in was my money. Give this company a wide berth as they are just not worth bothering with, they are disgusting!
