Great experience so far - especially Claire Graham who has been quick to respond and very helpful.

The whole selfbuild mortgage process is anything but straightforward. But from the initial conversation with my advisor through to my own personal underwriter at Buildloan I have been patiently guided through the whole process. At every step I felt assured that the advice and guidance was tailored specifically to my personal circumstances. All aspects were dealt with in a very time efficient manner despite the challenges of the COVID-19 situation. We chose Buildstore and then Buildloan to fund our self build. We’ve never done anything like this before. From first contact to the over the phone assessment to discuss our situation, and agreement of the funds required, we have felt the service has been personal, having the same point of contact during the application stage was so helpful. The process has been explained throughout. The interest rates are competitive and variable so have recently gone down. Moving on to the stage release, this has been the least stressful part of the whole build, there isn’t a lot of paperwork and the turnaround between sending the stage release form to having funds in our account have been 5 days or less (even during COVID-19 restrictions). Thank you to the stage release team, Claire has now explained the final retention payment process so we are looking forward to a couple of months time and having a completion certificate in our hands in order to get this. Big thanks to Buildstore/Buildloan.

Very good service, even though self build mortgages are much more challenging products. Nothing alike standard residential mortgages. Claire was great dealing with our case, we were supposed to have a valuation instructed just when the lock down started but with both our efforts found a way of getting funds released. Very pleased with the outcome.

In normal market Build Store would have been quick & efficient in looking after the stage release payments on our self build, but given they are dealing with this in the Lockdown it's really impressive. We have our site insurance and warranty through them, and all part of the business have been outstanding. Highly recommend
