If you are used to Norton it's a…

If you are used to Norton it's a completely different experience..
A lot of the times you get annoying popups, the interface is not so handy..
You can't send downloads on your computer with email, you need to log in on your account on an infected computer,if you want to install Bullguard there.
The 24h contact for support is a farce, because i have an active licence and 1 of my computers is 20 days short on protection,so i have a comp who is not protected and i can't do anything with it at the moment and no one to help me.

Dear Frank,

I am sorry to hear about your infected device. I can understand your frustration.

Our support is available 24/7 in English, but there are times when we have a lot of requests and you need to wait. We apologize if this was the case.

We generally do not recommend installing BullGuard on an already infected computer. Even if it succeeds in removing the infection, the corruption on the system is likely too deep to be fully repaired. My honest advice is to save your data from the infected computer on an external drive, restore the PC to factory settings, install BullGuard and you will finally be confident you will never become infected again.

Locks your PC up if you do not renew, No Anti Spam

Used this product for many years and whilst it did a good job, the 2019 and 2020 versions removed anti spam protection and it locks your PC up if you dont renew !!

Many sites claim anti spam is still available but I checked with Bullguard and its not in 2020 products.

Worse though when my renewal ran out, I was DISGUSTED by the complete lockdown of my PC by Bullguard. It locks your screen with a Blue Screen of Death informing you to either UNINSTALL or RENEW with no other options.

If you even try alt control delete it wont work. So i clicked uninstall and surprise surprise it didnt uninstall so it forces you to renew at their high prices. Its worse than getting a virus when they lock your PC like this so why pay for this service and unbelievable abuse of customers trust !!!

If you do decide to renew anyway goto google shopping as the prices are a fraction of what bullguard direct charge you.

YOUR REPLY
with regards to Windows locking my screen not bullguard. Im not convinced this is the case since Windows already has its own anti virus installed running as standard so this should not apply.

It strikes me more as a marketing feature for Bullguard to constantly spam you and force you to renew. Either way im sure as a virus company you could find a solution to the problem.

With regards to the support ticket, it was actually raised through chat in the end and i requested the person passed the feedback on so there should be a record.

Dear Oliver,

Thank you for your feedback.

The email protection has grown significantly and the effort to filter spam out at the level of user devices has moved to the email providers instead. It's easy to configure a spam filter in your email directly as most email provides have easy to follow guides for this specific purpose.

BullGuard has always provided free upgrades to the latest version of the program and while the spam filter was removed indeed, new features were added in it's stead, which are more inline with our products main purpose, which is to provide you with the best possible security.

The blue screen you refer to is a Microsoft Windows feature, which is designed to ensure that you do not surf the web unprotected. It's not something BullGuard can control.

I will kindly ask you to email complaints@bullguard.com with your ticket number for the support session in which you requested assistance and we did not help. I would be happy to fully investigate.

Update:
Dear Oliver, you can easily search for this blue screen from Microsoft on your preferred search engine and find out it's true.

We offer 30 days money back guarantee on any purchase or renewal through our shop and we extend this to 60 days for automatic renewals, specifically to allow customers the right to change their mind about out product. We do not employ any marketing schemes, as our product is speaking for itself in reviews and we have users which have been with us as long as 14 years and more.
I believe this uninstall issue caused the entire unfortunate incident and I will try to look for your ticket, but it would greatly help if you could drop a simple mail to complaints@bullguard.com.

Do not buy

Do not buy! Even with the paid version it will constantly pop up promotional offers onto the screen! I would personally rather have a virus than this trash af software. Oh also the game booster function will delete your games valuble files and end processes that are crucial for games to run as it tries to boost them. I have to make sure game booster is off at all times to play any games, also it thinks oculus software is a virus and will delete it. Steer clear of this one fellas

Dear Chris,

BullGuard Antivirus features two different methods of threat detection, including detection based on the behaviour of the software file when it is run, as well as detection of particular ‘signatures’ within the software that will typically indicate that it might be malware or infected.

Unfortunately, there are rare occasions on which BullGuard Antivirus blocks or suspends a legitimate file. As a matter of public interest, and to ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our customers, BullGuard must act on the results of its threat detection, even though this will unfortunately and inevitably lead to legitimate files being caught.

When notified of the detection of potential malware by BullGuard Antivirus, customers are usually given the option to 'Report False Positive'. BullGuard will take prompt action to remedy such situations so as to keep ill-effects caused to a minimum.

We provide 24/7 free support by chat or email, to ensure we provide users the means to immediately reach us, so we can help.

Our Marketing team has implemented a loyalty program that runs automatically, to ensure that loyal customers receive a discount for their renewal purchase. Occasionally, we also have campaigns that are designed to attract new customers which, sometimes, include better discounts (Black Friday is a good example). Our partners may also sell BullGuard with offers of their own, or in bundles with other products.

All offers can be permanently disabled and information about how to do this is also posted online in our FAQ section and guides, but you can also contact our free 24/7 English Support Team at any time to guide you through the steps.

I will kindly ask you to email complaints@bullguard.com with your ticket number for the support session in which you requested assistance and we did not help. I would be happy to fully investigate.

You tell customer service about the problem and their answer is to re install office. It was a downloaded version and will not install because your crap Bullguard reckons it's a virus!
Keep away from this rubbish!

Outrstanding Software, Outstanding Support

After a rebuild of my laptop I struggled to re-install BullGuard Premium Protection - completely down to my stupidity.

Using the on line support chat facility, a very helpful (and patient) Mihai G took me through things - voila - All good.

I have used BullGuard for several years now, the software protection is second to none and their support is outstanding - I do not see myself using any other Internet security product (I used to use Norton for years). Thank you BullGuard, Thank you Mihai G

Very Good Firewall Protection

Bullguard Firewall is compatible with Windows Firewall (Windows 8.1 and 10). You can run both at the same time after installation. If your computer is unable to connect using a VPN, for example, just leave Bullguard Firewall active and it will do all the work for you.
