Don't trust website

Hopeless. Made the trip on a wet lousy day because the website says they have (garden) items in stock. Of course they don't stupid me! Experienced this before with Bunnings. Don't have a website with "in-stock" information if it's not going to be up-to-date. Untrustworthy.

I visited Bunnings Kahikatea Drive for…

I visited Bunnings Kahikatea Drive for a click and collect. I ordered 4 of an item at Te Rapa, but they could only supply 3 - so the 4th c&c was forwarded to the Hamilton south Branch. I don't often use c&c and neither do I shop at Kahikatea Dr normally - so I'm not familiar with the system here. I am also a disabled shopper. There were no dedicated checkout counters working, only "information" or "the tool counter". I queued in the information line, and then noticed a different and dedicated counter for c&c - so I moved to there. "Flynn" quite rudely told me to go to the Information counter for c&c - so to the back of the line I went. When "Flynn" served me thereafter, he said c&c is "over there" but customers are served at the info counter. There is no sign to indicate this. The sign says "collect your online purchase here" (at the c&c counter)?

So Bunnings, how about staff training in PR and better signage?

On a brighter note, the c&c was found by "Flynn" easily, so that part of the system worked well.

Went in to buy something a couple of weeks ago and waited ages for someone to help us out. We asked twice then the third time we ended up leaving.
Staff were rude and just mucking around. Some just look like they didn't want to be there.
We ended up going to Mitre 10 which was so much better. Staff were way more attentive and very friendly.

No service

No service, tradesperson who was available didn’t appear to even be able to say ‘ be with you in a minute’. After waiting and following him for 2 aisles I decided that Mitre 10 is a much more pleasurable experience and left.

In early June I went to Bunnings…

In early June I went to Bunnings Westgate as we were renovating our entire kitchen. The first time we went to Bunnings we were there for over an hour looking at all the different kitchen samples and bench tops. During this time not one staff member asked if we needed any help so we ended up walking out. A couple of weeks later we went back to the same store only to leave again after being advised that the only one who could help us was on her break. After waiting for 15 minutes we left. In early August we ended up going back for a third time where the same two female staff members were sitting at the desk. As we were walking around looking at a few samples we thought one of them would come and ask if we needed any help. However again no one asked, despite us being there for 20 minutes. I went to the desk to ask for help but the female staff member was more interested in helping her colleague on the computer. It was like she was purposely avoiding eye contact with me because she didn’t even acknowledge me standing there. After 5 minutes of waiting at the counter, we ended up walking out again. Supporting local businesses is important to us, as times are hard. But due to the lack of help and support, we were left with no choice but to buy our $12,000 Kaboodle kitchen at the Whangarei Branch instead.

Constellation Drive

Constellation Drive - asked for plumbing assistance, was told to go to plumbing desk. Went to plumbing and they have no desk. Went back to ask where desk was because I could not locate. Got a blank look, then asked for assistance, she called but no one came, called a second time and still no one. Another worker who could see I was not happy tried to help and looked for someone on the floor. She said a lady in PAINT can help after she finished with paint customer, I did show her the pipe and connection and she said she could help me. I waited, then she took me to the shelves to tell me she could not help. Another wasted trip to Bunnings.

15% Guarantee not worth anything

Tried to get bunnings to honour their 15% price guarantee by matching Noel Leeming for some Philips Hue lights. Wendy (customer service) refused to do honour the price promise, so now I have to take Bunnings to the disputes tribunal for a breach of the fair trading act, What a hassle.. and awful customer service.

Was on the phone for half hour while I…

Was on the phone for half hour while I listened to the usual patronising garbage about how they value their customers and still didn't get to anyone who would help. Now that phone call has made me angry and frustrated. KEEP THAT IN MIND AS YOU CONTINUE TO READ. But what really was interesting was how their recorded message requested 'respectful and considerate’ behaviour. Because of places like Bunnings is why there are so many young people who've had enough of their i.e. Bunnings ‘disrespectful and inconsiderate behaviour’. Along with banks, insurance and telecom companies, and the like, they are the ones who have caused this unpleasantness and nationwide change in human behaviour. They just won’t answer their phones cause that costs them time and money. This is done to force us to go to their website and waste more of our own time. My experience has shown their website is not reliable. Years of their clandestine aggression towards us has now back fired on them with the public becoming openly hostile towards them. Wake up to yourselves Bunnings - you are to blame not us, it’s you has caused this. What did you expect with your disrespectful attitude. They are so big and powerful they don't need to be 'respectful and considerate' and now they are taking this to the next step and trying manipulate our minds to believe, we the public are to blame. Go to hell Bunnings you and your kind are getting back what you dish out.

Posted an honest review of a product…

Posted an honest review of a product that only bunnings sell. This product was purchased by my customer. I ended up installing a better quality product that wasn't broken and cost the same. The bunnings review team rejected my review because it violated their terms and conditions. They did not tell me why it violated their terms and conditions and added this message,
"If you would like a follow up call related to your review, please reply with your phone number and one of our team members will get back to you."
So I responded to the email as advised and the email bounces back with a,
"Mail Delivery Subsystem Delivery Status Notification (Failure)".
Great job bunnings team, glad your team and systems are every bit as great as your crappy products.

Pathetic…

My partner and I went to Bunnings maddington to buy some tiles for our garden. My partner had a heart condition and walks with a cane. It was a lot on us to load up 12 tiles onto the trolley. Got to the till.., no bar code on the tiles. The woman on the till asked me to go all the way back to take a photo of the bar code which I did for her. We spent $500. After we paid my partner moved the car into the front of the garden section entrance to make it easier to load the car. A man starts yelling at us that we were blocking the entrance. I tried to say my man has a heart problem and bad back and we won’t be long. The same woman who served us then comes out and gives us a mouth full. No grace.. No kindness… she could see he was crippled… and I had just done her a favour. What a miserable excuse of a customer service operator. We won’t be back.

Faulty Lawn Mower

Faulty Lawn Mower
I took it back to Bunnings New Lynn on 28/01/2024 and said it has a problem starting.

I was informed it is the only Brand that is not refunded or replaced and it has to go to the supplier for repair and will be 4 weeks. If I had known,I would not purchase this brand and customer should be informed at time of purchase. After 6 weeks we still had not heard anything.

I went to the store who then called the supplier regarding the repair who informed the staff member it is not covered under warranty as we must of used it on an incline and it had oil in the carb, and there is a $90 fee. I didnt agree with this as our lawn is flat and when I brought it back to bunnings it was in my ute. I asked to have the report emailed to me and it has not been done. I was not informed of any inspection cost and even on your receipt it states customer will be informed of any costs, which we were not. We still have no mower and has been 2 months, it has cost me to get our lawns mowed while this is being sorted. If Bunnings can not refund me or return the lawn mower with out the fee I will take it further as you have breached consumer laws that protect us.
Bunnings had mower from dec 28th to April 14th gave it back to me same problem- now will go to commerce commission and lay complaint.

confused customer

asked for a sandpaper disc showing my old one to match, found it, then asked another girl for another item & she said "you can't walk around the store carrying that sandpaper, you will have to pay for it separately here or leave it here".
There were other people carrying things around the store & I was going to purchase several other items, so I walked out, complained to the guy at door & asked for my original disc back & he wouldn't. Went elsewhere. Won't be back.

Rude staff. Inaccurate website

Bought an Ozito jump starter/ power pack. Utterly ineffective. Returned it and was 'served' by a surly, rude young woman. Bunnings used to be a pleasant experience. Also, the website is very poor.
