Terrible service

Terrible service. They pump out advertising for items they do not stock. Their on-line website a waste of time.

Beware, their store credits run out

I spent a lot of money in this shop. I had a $70 credit. I'm told you don't need to keep your receipt, it's all on computer. Well I just drove 3 hours to my closest Burnsco in Tauranga to be told it ran out 2 months ago. He gave me a $15 discount on a $150 purchase. Inot good enough. I would not of gone all the way to Tauranga if I knew my credit had been wiped. I wouldn't of gone to Burnsco if I didn't have a credit. I won't be going back. Thoroughly pissed.

Faulty product, no refund provided.

I purchased an RV table leg from Burnsco. Unfortunately, there is no sturdy connection between the pedestal post and the pedestal top due significant play. I provided a video as evidence that clearly shows the movement of the post inside the mount.

A customer service team leader gave me one excuse after the other eg the post not being fully inserted. Even after providing more evidence, they still insisted on me covering the return cost which is against the CGA.

I have not experienced this lack of customer service in a long time. If you sent faulty products to yours customers you should honour a fair transaction and either replace with a non-faulty item or fully refund.

Burnsco - good fishing gear

Pro:
Good product selection and decent prices. I've been picking up most of my fishing gear from here for a bit, and they have a good selection of softbait to choose from. Their reel selection is also good.
Con:
I wish they had more boats and other large offerings on display

Check your pricing before displaying

Went to Napier store on Taradale Road today, purchased a cargo carrier which works excellent. BUT in big A4 blue paper sign on the box says price $349.00. So we go to counter, he takes off sign and says that will be $369.00 that was advertised wrong. Should have argued the point but didn't. That's not good service at all, he should have given it to us at the advertised price. Disappointed in this transaction.

Not a good experience

Bought reels, rods, and lines in this store. The 2 rods broke while using them on fishing within 3 months after buying them. The rods were broken on the same day unfortunately, the 2nd rod was bought as a backup. The fish caught was around 2kg and seems not too heavy for any of the rod. When I brought them back to store hoping they can help fix or replace any of them so we can go back to fishing, they requested to leave the rod. After almost 1 month they called and told me to pick up. They just returned the broken rods telling me that the rods will not supposed to break when using in fishing accusing me that I might have seated on them or did something to them before using them for fishing so they broke. Not a good experience of a customer who has bought several products from them.

Rude & openly discriminate

They openly discriminate against those of us that are unable to wear a face mask for medical reasons. They refuse to accept exemptions and are very rude about it.

Complaints have been made to the Human rights commision and MBIE. Absolutely disgusting.

After reading other reviews here and on Facebook it seems they are losing a lot of business for being so discriminatory. I will never use them again.

Very dissapointing…

Ive got ashma very bad and i find it very hard to breath with a mask on ive got a medical exemption from my doctor as its so hard to breath ...but for some reason burnsco has now taken a health last stance on ppl with medical conditions and kicked me out of the shop , its very dissapointing that ive supported them for so many years for them to disregard what my doctor has advised and told me to do not to mention do they want sombody passing out into one of there shelves, These things exist for a reason and its is very uneducated to blatently go against doctors advice for a medical condition. Very disspointing indeed

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Been in to the Hamilton branch a few times and today will be the last. The service is always so bad. Went in at 12pm today Saturday 13 Nov. About 3 customers in shop and 4 staff all standing at the counter. 20min later still no movement just chatting to each other. Try to get their attention but no had to go to the front and ask can anyone of you help us pkease. This is the same averytime i go there.

Worst customer service ever

After sales customer care really poor.long story short I have a $1500 chart plotter 2 years old, which before they sent it for repairs were trying to sell me a replacement one, same model,no transducer,no sd map card.for $800.
The agents said it couldn't be repaired but offered me another model latest for 60% off.they said i could buy new one at burnsco plus freight of $20 so burnsco could receive a new one back in stock.burnsco told me no..they have to make money at least $200.The reason my plotter failed originally was probably due wrong map card being issued originally (this is from service agent)..3 times sent I for repairs.first 2 weeks from original purchase.i have never had such poor service from anyone before..and all they wanted to do is make more money out of me for their original mistake

Great customer experience 😃

Just visited the Mount Maunganui shop. Looking for life jackets, coast guard man was a wealth of information on the life jackets. James totaled our bill and since he had worked with surf life saving he educated us on how to do our own checks. So informative, thank you gentlemen. Great customer service and happy customers.

Great service, awesome products!

Great service from the Burnsco webstore. The team were very nice to deal with and very willing to help me out with each request that I have had. Delivery was overnight for each of my orders and packaged very well. Would recommend to everyone.
