The staff were friendly and helpful. . My husband and I enjoyed our afternoon tea. I thought it very thoughtful that my vegetarian food was on a separate plate. Felt very comfortable.

We have used Buyagift for several years now, but owing to illness and a death we have bee unable to realistically purchase anything. As a result we have not been able to use many of the vouchers. Fortunately we were able to contact them and eventually they were able to extend the voucher FOC, which was a great help in these difficult times.

I would make it lower if I could. The site is confusing. Customer service impossible. Never again

I have been a loyal buyagift customer, favouring them over other gift experience providers for many years, until today. I will never use buyagift again.
Last year I purchased a Money gift Voucher for a relative (a voucher directly for buy a gift that is bought at the value I want the voucher to be for, idea behind it was as it was a big birthday multiple people could buy money vouchers to be grouped together to pay for a more extravagant experience), fast forward to today and trying to redeem said voucher. I was helping my family member to choose the experience they wanted and redeem the gift voucher. We first searched on buyagift website to see which experiences took their fancy. A few options were selected. We then followed the instructions to log in and redeem the voucher, it was added to the session and showed the redeemable amount. Some of the experiences picked as options were cheaper than the amount, some were more expensive. Either way; they was happy to pay the balance. However, once logged into the my voucher session, finding the chosen experience the additional payment that was being requested after the redeemable amount was the FULL cost of the experience. So despite the voucher being redeemed buyagift was then trying to charge the full amount of what the experience costs on their website (bearing in mind on their website you can also use a code to get it even cheaper! 20% off).
So for instance. Experience cost £50 directly on their site; there’s a £50 redeemable voucher to use, the amount you pay on top was then £50 meaning in total £100 would have been paid.
We checked multiple different experiences and all of them were trying to charge the full price on top of taking the cost of the money voucher.
We started a live chat. The person was rude and insinuated we was doing it wrong; which I know 100% we wasn’t. They could not explain why they was charging the full amount. We advised them to not insult me by suggesting we was not competent in following instructions (which I have used buyagift multiple times before so I know how to do it).
In my opinion Buyagift are operating in an unethical manner; had we not checked their website to find the experiences up front we may have thought the cost was as stated and ended up paying the additional cost, which realistically means they are being paid twice for that sum of money. This would actually be classed as fraud. (How many other people have just paid it not realising they are being robbed?)
The person we spoke to could offer no explanation. We asked for a manager and was told that wasn’t possible.
I also believe it is unethical to not allow people to use discount codes that are available as standard on their website when redeeming a voucher. The voucher could not have been purchased using a code before as this is not possible when buying money vouchers so realistically you are penalising people for receiving a gift. If you walked into a shop and they were offering a product on sale price; you wouldn’t be charged full price just because you are paying with a gift card.
Unethical. Fraudulent company.
My suggestion do not use them, but definitely not to gift a monetary voucher.
Not to mention their poor and rude customer service.
