Great people, better communication needed
The human factor was the highlight of my experience with Cadogan Tate, very nice people from the commercial agent and project manager to the guys who handled the heavy lifting. Yet, communication was not always easy, I had to chase many times to get information and the delivery date changed multiple times. I had to be very hands-on to get things moving in the right direction, not to mention I managed to get an earlier delivery by calling the driver myself (!). That being said, if you do not mind the stress of last-minute organisational changes, I also recommend the company for their care of my belongings which were meticulously packed and arrived safely.

One of my high-profile clients needed reassurance that his belongings at his London home in Kensington were in good hands to be delivered to Manchester. Without hesitation I recommended Cadogan Tate. Sam Gray was quick, efficient and only too happy to help. They did a great job and my client was delighted with their service, communication and friendliness. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks again to Sam and the team at Cadogan Tate.
Good experience
Good experience. Friendly, helpful guys who were super efficient and speedy. They took great care with our stuff. Would definitely use again.
Smoothest moving I could ever imagine
Amazing service! Guys arrived on time, look after all our stuff as it was theirs with no single item broken in the entire moving and in 3 hours we had all in place in the new house!
100% recommended and we will definitely use Cadogan Tate in our next move!

I have now used Cadogan Tate in many different occasion. They have done large move of 7-9 bedroom homes and have always been meticulously careful to never damage anything or scratch a wall. Even in very difficult setting they have proven their hability to do their job. The back office team is extremely nice and understanding.
They are always on time and their movers keep a smile and are very respectful. In stressful times of moving homes I could t think of anyone else but Cadogan Tate.
Also they are excellent for storage. I have kept my items with them for over 7 years and everything was delivered in perfect condition.
i strongly recommend.
**Cadogan Tate
**Cadogan Tate - June July 24
Our first experience with Tate in September 2023, during a domestic move, was a resounding success. Consequently, we chose to engage Tate for the second part of our move—this time, an international relocation. Unfortunately, this subsequent experience did not meet our expectations.
Phase 1 London :
We opted for the Grouping-Degrouping service. The preparation of our move in London was subpar. Here are the key issues we encountered:
- Despite clearly communicating that we had a substantial number of books, we were provided with boxes that were too large, the boxes became too heavy, necessitating repacking by the Cadogan team on the day of the move.
- We were informed by a member of the Tate Commercial Team that it was our responsibility to complete a line-by-line inventory with values, and that no assistance would be provided in determining these values. We diligently completed and submitted the inventory a day before collection, only to be told on the day of the move by a different Tate representative that Tate would handle the inventory and valuation—a complete waste of our time.
- Only two Tate staff members were assigned to the job, instead of the agreed-upon three. It quickly became apparent that they were overwhelmed. Despite calling many times for additional support, and being reassured that « help was on the way « nothing happened till late in the day .
The only similarity to our previous positive experience was the hard work and dedication of the team on the ground. They did their best to salvage the situation but were let down by the office.
Overall, there was poor planning, inadequate manpower, inconsistent communication, contradictory statements from the office, and too many people involved, leading to a dilution of responsibility. The timeline we were promised (9 am to 4 pm) was not respected, causing unnecessary stress and work for us.
**Phase 2 - France**
The second phase of the move was to take place in France, and it proved to be an ongoing challenge to determine when the shipment would arrive. We were informed on Thursday, July 25th, that the shipment would arrive during the week starting July 29th. We confirmed our availability, with the exception of July 31st—ironically, the only date that was offered to us. There was no flexibility provided.
It became a struggle to obtain the next possible delivery date. Fortunately, thanks to the persistent efforts of our Move Coordinator, we finally received a confirmed date August 12th .
The unloading, unpacking, and disposal of packaging materials were handled smoothly, and the team on the ground, led by Michel, was excellent.
In Summary:
- Poor commercial/sales preparation, marked by confusion and incoherence.
- Competent support from the Move Coordinatore
- Excellent team on the ground.

Issue with moving team in France
While CT service in London was impeccable, the French part of my move was handled by subcontractors who were substandard. This led to damage to furniture and a lot of confusion regarding the delivery of my piano. Eventually, the insurance covered the damage and the piano was sorted after a protracted insurance claim process. Check your contract for terms of delivery abroad.

Don’t use them, too big to care
Don’t use them. Very good customer service, we chose them for peace of mind, we trusted their reputation. Sadly the reality was very different - (boxes lost, damage, badly planned moving time, customer service became bullish and dismissive) and despite repeated requests to speak to a manager, three months later still no conversation.

We have used Cadogan Tate for many years and many moves there teams of experienced movers are always polite and respectful and helpful and honest. Highly recommended by us.
Thanks to you all.

Perfect service
We contracted Cadogan Tate to help us during filming at a sensitive private residential location with many high ticket art pieces and furniture. They cleared the property exactly to our instruction, taking extra care and time to package up the high ticket items for storage.
We then had them on standby on the shoot day to move any items required for shot. The team were patient, always on time and easy to get hold of whenever we needed help. They were proactive and always had a solution to any issues we had.
During the reinstatement process they took their time to reference photos to ensure items were put back as they were initially found.
The service overall was very professional and efficient, we had no breakages, no delays and no problems. I would highly recommend Cadogan Tate and will be using them again on future film productions.

Extremely helpful, everything went smoothly and we would definitely recommend Barry and team to friends.
Absolutely appalling service, do not use!
Absolutely appalling service! Never use this company unless you want to loose your furniture, waste thousands of pounds and deal with people that can't organise anything to save their lives!!
We have paid tens of thousands in storage fees and they can't organise a thing, they are utterly terrible in every single way!
Just to point a few things out so everyone is aware:
1. We had paid Cadogan Tate to remove a large volume of our furniture from their containers so our own removals company could collect. (The client was due to move back into their house the same week) However on the morning of the collection we had a call from our removal team saying CT couldn't locate half of the furniture. We did not receive a call from anyone not even a Manager in advance explaining the situation, apologising, or even to say they were going to do their best to sort this out ASAP. Instead we ended up having to pay thousands to rent furniture for my client as they were moving into their house that week.
If this wasn’t bad enough and having got no where for 6+ months and half of our furniture still missing, CT requested that I had to go to storage myself and sift through containers to find our items. After I had done this, 1 valuable piece of antique furniture was still missing and to this day still is. (Over a year down the line)
To add insult to injury CT cannot still provide me with an update with this claim or any answers to the missing item of furniture even though I have spent a huge amount of time chasing the situation. I have moved on now and am now speaking with a Manager yet incredibly still receiving the same appalling service and attitude.
2. On more occasions than not, our removal team have arrived and the items have not been ready for collection, resulting in the team having to wait for hours at our own personal cost or they have had to leave for another job, again unnecessarily costing us a considerable amount of money and still the job incomplete.
Our removal team whom we have always been able to rely upon and have a good relationship now understandably have refused to deal with Cadogan Tate as they have wasted so much of their time and had experienced such rudeness from their team when on site.
3. We have had items of high end furniture delivered to the house that weren’t ours! (From this, I am assuming our lost piece of furniture is most likely sat in someone else's home?!)
The above points are just to name a few, there are many more. I totally understand everyone makes mistakes, we are all human. However, to have this happen on so many occasions from a so called reputable company is beyond shocking.
After so many issues over such a long time I don't think it is wrong to have expected a call from someone in a higher position at CT to go through the service we have received and to try to sort this out for us from a customer relations perspective if nothing else.
We have used other storage companies over the years yet have never ever experienced such poor service and communication like this before.
If you are looking for a high end storage/removal company, Gander and White are worth every penny and can’t do enough for you! They put Cadogan Tate to shame.
Perfect removal experience
Perfect removal experience. All of our things were handled with great care (we have antiques, collections of eggshells, fossils, etc.). Vinnie, the team leader, was a great communicator (a critical element in a successful move). Steve the handyman helped us with a few extra things. The whole crew was friendly, fast, and very professional.
Very disappointing for such a reputable…
Very disappointing for such a reputable and expensive domestic removal company. They make you pay in advance so you have no way of sorting out issues after the move. My “move manager” was passive aggressive and took no responsibility for the items that have gone missing that was clearly their fault. My initial move 2 years ago my bed was put in storage - or so i thought. When bringing out of storage for the move which incidentally they forgot on my move day! The guys discovered that one of the main bed slats and all the screws were missing and not correctly tied together. Apparently they have searched everywhere in my containers and the warehouse and they are lost. However it is not their responsibility as apparently even though i took insurance out for that move when they went in to storage I didn’t take the insurance out for this current move so that makes the parts not insured!! Go figure. Bitterly disappointed haven’t offered any assistance to source the lost items just 40 pounds. so 3 weeks later and a lot of waiting around for them im still sleeping on a mattress on the floor all because of their negligence. For over £2500 for 2 half days of work I would expect and deserve much better competent service especially from Cadogan state

Leticia, Simon, Adam and Crew
Leticia, Simon, Adam, and the moving crew from Cadogan Tate made what was a stressful and daunting move into a quick, stress free experience. Without their prompt service, attention and skill, we would surely not have managed. Even in the face of several delays to delivery time, and difficult circumstances for moving, they loaded and unloaded in an hour tops.
Truly exceptional. Thank you!
Don’t consider using Cadogan Tate
Don’t consider using Cadogan Tate for removals.
They preport to do everything properly and they take 100% of the costs upfront, so I comment further !
In reality they do not do the things that they had agreed to do….as an example unpacking valuables etc. Nor do they actually fulfil their obligations. Our move was over three days and on the last day everything was rushed as the next day was Good Friday. As a result lots of items were not removed, nor were boxes unpacked as previously agreed. Any damage that occurred was only subsequently discovered and they totally avoid any explanation. Items that should be been delivered upright were actually delivered on their side and damage and leakages occurred. Some items were broken/missing and damage occurred to picture frames, furniture and computer equipment . I’ve emailed on several occasions and all I get is a response that “we will be in touch” but after seven weeks this is frankly a joke. I will have to revert to legal action.
Avoid them at all costs
Dealt professionally with all my daft queries
Excellent. I had 40 questions, many awkward, dealing with an auction, working out how to deliver within the US and they patiently & promptly dealt with everything. Got my antique in great time and perfectly packed. Thank you very much. Perfect.
Absolutely brilliant! Highly recommend
The whole Cadogan Tate team were absolutely brilliant and made our house move so seamless and stress free.
They coordinated the removal of some extremely heavy furniture without any complaints and were all a total pleasure to work with.
Highly recommend!
