In-stock and next day delivery - a joke.....

You have rated CameraBox.co.uk "Unsatisfactory" with the following comment:
"Ordered an in-stock Panasonic FZ100 on Sunday - expected Tuesday. Didn't arrive (no Emails about any issues....) Contacted Tuesday and was told a busy weekend and delay in shipping - was shipping out that night. Wednesday - didn't arrive (no contact from the company). Phoned and was told "Should get it by the weekend"!!! So much for in-stock and next day delivery...Have now cancelled the order - hate to think what their after sales would be like given they can't even ship an item....Hope they refund as quick as they were to take the order...."

    OK but...

I bought a Nikon 80-200 f/2.8D from Camerabox. I must admit I was a bit worried, having read many reviews about the company and its services; but the price was too good to miss. BTW: ProVisualDirect's price was even lower, much lower in fact, but according to web search results the company is too dubious to trust your money with. I'm glad to report that Camerabox has delivered as promised - after a security check over the phone. I'm happy with the lens, but rather disappointed by the bundled lens filter. There was no info about the filter on their website. But since Camerabox claims to be a supplier for the professionals, I thought they would know: one does not pair a sub-standard lens filter with a first class lens. Alas, that's exactly what they have done! The Camlink UV filter bundled with the lens eats half a stop, and even on the camera's small monitor you can tell the difference in image quality (when shooting text on a flat monitor) with and without the filter. Another thing, the lens comes with its own case, but two of Camerabox's bundles for this particular product contain a third-party lens case - it made me wonder if I would get the real thing or not before it was delivered. Final comment is that Camerabox discourage you to register the product with the manufacturer, stating they would do it for you. I don't know if it will be registered in my name, if not what's the implication for household insurance etc.

    Satisfactory

The company did not have the camera I wanted in stock, but sais it woul be in on the Friday of that week. I ordered but then each week, the delivery date kept being put back a week. I would prefer to have known when it was coming into the store as it is disappointing to be delayed on a weekly basis.
Once in stock, I was told it would leave Camerabox on Monday and arrive Tuesday. This all happened a day late.
    Otherwise, good price and quality.

    Excellent service & great product

Thanks for the Olympus lens. It's a great performer @ a bargain price. I did have a little difficulty with City Link's delivery - they missed me, then they sent it out when I turned up to collect from their warehouse & I had to go back.... but this was nothing set against the value of the deal I got. Thanks Alan Reeves

The Worst Online Experience Of My Life!!

I normally buy from Amazon but, as the Canon A3100 I wanted in blue was out of stock, I looked elsewhere. I came across Camerabox and all looked well. I decided on a bundle of that camera with a samsonite case and SD card. The website showed 3 of those bundles in stock. I ordered this at 11.30pm on Thursday 14/10. The price included £7.99 for same day despatch and next day delivery. Being late on Thursday I didn't expect it to arrive until Monday the 18th. It hadn't arrived by close of play Tuesday so I rang. I was told that the stock figures on the website aren't accurate and it was in fact out of stock. Great! I was told they were coming in within the next 48hrs and I would get mine by Friday 22nd. No sign Friday so I rang only to be told that Canon had held the delivery back and I would definitely get mine by Tuesday the following week (26th). No sign Tuesday so I rang and was told that the instructions had arrived in Scandanavian and they were waiting for English instructions to arrive. I was told I would get my order, which had been 'prioritised', by Wednesday. Yes you guessed it, no sign Wednesday. I rang and was told that back orders were being sent out first. I finally received it on Friday the 29th but I wasn't happy to find the samsonite case wasn't there. I emailed the sales team that night and got a reply on the following Monday saying very sorry and will get the case sent out shortly. No sign of it by Thursday the 4th November so I rang only to be told that it had been sent out that day by Royal Mail. It's now Tuesday the 9th November and I'm still waiting for it. I'd rather crawl face down naked from Lands End to John 'O Groats over broken glass than buy from this company again.
How I wish I'd waited for Amazon to get it in stock!

    Pathetic

Ordered a Canon SX30 on the 8th of November, phoned them to check the order went through and was assured that it would be sent out for next day delivery. They promise an email on dispatch and an SMS. Neither of which were sent. Called them at 9am the next day and spoke to Phillip, who was worse than useless, he promised to call me back within the hour with an update and again they failed to do even that.
So I called them and cancelled the order, the person I spoke to was not even suprised at the cancellation. Guess they are used to it.
Now I'll see if they refund within 14 days as promised, but won't bet on it
In all useless, disorganised and makes me sad that people like this are still out there. Avoid them like the plague.
Reordered the camera from Buyacamera, guess what they called me to confirm the order, sent out a dispatch email and linked to Parcel Force.
Plus they were £20.00 cheaper and confirm delivery in the morning.

Failed to send out for next day delivery as promised by Patrick after his security check and then camerabox stalled my refund for 30 days

Totally unacceptable, they claim 30 days to provide a refund is the industry standard, which of course it is not, I have always received refunds within 3 working days from every other company I have dealt with. Thomas also failed to respond to my cancellation email even though he verbally told me he would. I only learnt about their 30 day refund policy when the money had not been returned to my account several weeks later and I phoned customer services to find out where it was.

This was my second purchase from camerabox as the first purchase went ahead without a hitch. As a result of their banking my money for 30 days and poor customer service I have now purchased my next camera from elsewhere.

    Buyers beware!

After hearing good things from a friend I made my order with Camerabox. Everything was in stock online, money was taken from my account and the next day delivery came and went.

After contacting customer services a new delivery date was made but this also came and went.

I swiftly contacted customer services again and was offered a new delivery date which I turned down and requested a full refund. Was assured this would take 2 to 3 days, time passes and no refund. I contact customer services once again and was told in not such a polite manner to wait for 14 days for my refund so I requested a manager call back….I’m still waiting for that and my money.

I’m now out of pocket to the tune of over a grand and have an entire Honours year at uni in the balance.

So Camerabox if you are reading this please do the decent thing and return my money sooner than later. I implore you.

(update) Surprise surprise it took over 30 days for my refund. People avoid this joke of a company.

    Poorest service ever.

Ordered the Canon EOS 550 body only and asked twice if they had stock and was assured 3 available. Ordered for next day delivery and received email camera on way. After a couple of days rang to ask for tracking details as not arrived. Was told they did not have it, which seemed odd. After 4.5 days and no camera I was told lost by courier and I could await new one coming in or cancel order and get my money back. I cancelled by email and had return email stating monies back in 2-10 days. when asked why it took so long I was told they had 30 days in which to pay me back. After nearly 10 days I again rang and asked to speak to an adviser. Spoke to Patrick who was not only quite abrupt and rude he basically hinted I would not get my money back for 30 (working) days, He also stated any interest on my credit card due to payment delay would have to be paid by me. I wouldnt have minded if I had received a camera and sent it back but as they could not give me a tracking number I doubt it was ever sent. It took so long to get the money back i would have had to pay interest on my mastercard if I had not paid it out of my own pocket in time. DON'T TOUCH THIS COMPANY. I should have read previous reviews and I would have saved a lot of hassle as I would not have gone to them. BE WARNED!!!

    Overal......not too bad

I cant complain about their customer serice as it was impecable, but i did orginally order a tx5 in red, but was sent out a black one. Phoned camerabox straight away to address the issue, and spoke to a helpful member of staff, who gave me the address to send the wrong colour back to, which i did that day, and 2 days later i recieved my tx5 in red, with a very nice apology note inside, and my postage back was refunded, so was a good experience, but just a shame the wrong colour was sent in the first place.

    My experience of Camerabox

It seems there is an alarming number of negativity on here regarding Camerabox.

Infact if someone looked on here to decide whether to deal with them or not may very well not bother.

I can't speak for all you guys on here, but it seems the main complaint is a worry of not getting the items or the live stock being inaccurate and then having to wait longer than the advertised "order today get it tomorrow"

I wouldn't count on the live stock as or the next day delivery I would just think am getting the camera or whatever at a price lower than the high street, i mean why else buy online?

I would count on the items being delivered witihin a reasonable time i.e. 2 weeks max and am sure most things are delivered much sooner than this, the trouble withe livestock as far as I have found out is its not really live as in realtime its upated peridoically at various times of the day.

I bought a camera last november 09 and it arrived can't remember if it was the next day or not but it wasn't long ...fast forward to this October 2010 and I bought another camera, it was advertised as in stock , but unfortunatley it wasn't and the subsequent batch arrived at a lower price than the camera I thought i was gonna get the next day or hoped to get reasonbly soon, I mentioned this to camerabox not heavy handedly as its always best to be nice first isn't it? and hey presto they desposited the difference into my account within 3 days so hats of to them for that.

My camera I have to say did only arrive about a week later not next day but in total about 6 / 7 days but they are after all selling this much lower than the shops namely a Canon 7d.

I got the camea out and noticed that it didn't come with a manual and quickly reallised that this was in fact a Japanese marked camera ala grey import and this particular edition doesn't come with a manual as standard. Now a lesson here can be learned if the camera your interested in is advertised as UK stock it will be if there is no mention of this then it WILL be a grey import , easy to test go into your languages menu on your particular camera if you can only select Japanese or English its a Jap grey import and also if you look at the "whats in the box/ included accessories" there will be no mention of a manual only a software anual on CD , this could be seen misleadingly to mean the manual is on a CD but it is actually the manual for the software on a separate CD , if you want a manual for your camera you will have to download one from Canon's japanese website, not if this applies to other makes of camera's but its important to bear in mind that you might not get a manual especially if your getting a beast like the Canon 7d.

Unfortunatley my camera had a fault lots of error 1's and error 40's and i couldn't deal with that especially on a camera at this price and level, so i sent it back, i must stress tho that this is in no way camerabox's fault, it's Canon's fault for allowing it out of the factory.

Within the month Camerabox refunded the full amount plus the postage i initially paid to have it in the first place.

So all in all I have to say that for me Camerabox have been pretty stellar to deal with, sure the camera wasn't delivered next day despite the "livestock" sayso and what not. but as for peoples concerns about not getting their respective goods and claims of fraud I say nonsense, sure they could improve the" livestock" or even better get rid of it altogether because it seems to generate the bulk of complaints.

I say shop with Camerabox BUT just concentrate on the fact your getting a good price rather than nextday delivery , this is not to say you won't do just see it as a bonus on top of getting a good deal and maybe also it could be a grey import , which is no big deal.

As for reports of rudeness well thats a shame really. they have been fine with me and only last night at the Trafford Centre I stormed out of Jessops as I was about to make a substantial purchase but one of the salesmen's attitude was soo infuriatingly rude it cost's the nice guys salesman the sale. So it's not just Camerabox that could have the odd bad apple as it were.

Hope this helps, would of given 5 out of 5 if wasn't for the livestock and not next day delivery BUT i would definately deal with them again.

    Peace and happy shopping.

read the terms of the warranty before you buy

sent to my work address as requested but the name on the package was that of another employee who had previously bought from camerabox! unhappy with the terms of the 5 year warranty, if i had read the terms before the purchase then i would have looked elsewhere. it was the five year warranty that made me buy from camerabox

    Horrible Experience

I did not receive the goods despite promises on four occasions and the online promise of next day delivery. When I queried the delay the staff was very impolite and threatened to delay my refund for over a month. Two weeks later and I still await the refund. When I followed up this morning I was told that it was pointless to complain and that a refund will take 30 days and that was all they can do about it. Be ware of dealing with this company, customer services is nothing more than empty promises

    Superb Service!

Superb service once again from Camerabox. This is the second order I have now placed with Camerabox, and I must say they have lived up to the next day delivery both times. To be honest I used to buy alot of my equipment off the highstreet, but now I've discovered how readily available and cheap you can buy equipment off the internet, actually I'm quite annoyed at how much I could of saved! I probably could of bought a 5d mkII with the amount I could of saved!!

I definitely recommend this company to anyone wanting to but SLR equipment.
