Loving Luna......
Loving Luna......
Travelling is a lost art. We spent many hours, over several days looking for the right campervan for our trip to Dumfries and Galloway. We knew that what we wanted was not just a vehicle. We were looking for a companion.
Too often in our busy lives the race to arrive at your destination comes at the expense of the many pleasures that can be found from the journey itself.
And then, after almost giving up, we found Luna. She is a well thought out, and obviously well loved van. Just looking at the selection of OS maps on board lets you know that she has seen some wonderful places. The kind of places that most just simply pass by. Quiet, beautiful spots to catch your breath and recharge.
Luna is equally at home on a site with electric hook-up but is kitted out with a 12volt system and diesel heater. Perfect for days out, or longer trips off grid.
A 3-way fridge, 4 burner hobgrilloven combo help take care of meals. There is a surprisingly easy pull-out sofa bed and two more seats in the living area and a wind-out awning to create outdoor space wherever you end up.
Her owners have clearly learned what is needed on campervan trips. There was everything we would expect and quite a few items that you simply know were added as they have been needed along the way.
Luna is your ideal companion if you are looking for a friend to help you unwind Wherever you decide to take her, she is well prepared. The rest is up to you.

Vinnie
We absolutely loved our time using Vinnie on the North Coast 500. The van came with everything as described with some added surprises we were celebrating our honeymoon we got a bottle of Prosecco, along with lots of treats for the trip. We originally booked the van through another Camperbug page. The new owners were more than accommodating to honour our booking to make sure pick up drop off suited us. If anyone is thinking about hiring a van, I would throughly recommend this one.

Lovely little campervan
automatic on hilly country lanes is a big plus. More than that was the help and support we received from the owner, not only hiring to us at very short notice when another rental fell through but the information and guidance he gave was invaluable. Would highly recommend bit the van and the renter to anyone looking for a good camper van experience.

Terrible website
Terrible website. The calender shows availability so you message the owner and they say they don't! Complete waste of time contacting 5/6 owners when they said they had availability when in fact they didn't.

As an owner of a campervan
As an owner of a campervan, this has to be by far the worst website I've used. Terrible navigation and clumpy website, messages from hirers just dissappear! Go elsewhere would be my advice.
DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE. They do not check the safety condition of the campervans and do not respond to any complaints or queries. Avoid at all costs.

As a campervan owner
As a campervan owner, Camperbug are not that customer focussed compared to other similar sites, such as Camplify and Camptoo. They also charge more for the little they do, to the point where they do not even check the basic levels of safety and roadworthiness of the vans that they have on their books. Things like checking current MoTs and insurance, gas safety certificates etc is not part of the Camperbug responsibility. Of late they have also become dictatorial in their approach. If you want good van owner service then go to other sites such as Camptoo and Camplify. These companies are streets ahead.
This website is real - but better options exist - far better!
This website is real, but is terrible! they have cornered the market so have huge numbers of users - but take advantage of this by treating renters and hirers alike badly. The system is horrendous meaning as a hirer you cannot see messages from renters until more recent inbound queries have been cleared.
Camplify is far more modern (it handles card payments direct, CB requires you to transact with them and separately with the hirer), their insurance is included and competitive and their customer service works well. The issue is the have few users! so please please use them not campberbug.
(I have not been asked to write this but list on both)
No transparency or customer service
We added our lovely camper to it. Had three enquiries and third time around we decided to take all our information out as it was impossible to actually help the people with their booking or respond their questions when we ourselves had no answers, guarantees or knew where the money was going! Definetely earned our full distrust!!
Very poor - suggest you stay away
What an interesting company, no contact number, they don't take any emails seriously and offer appalling customer service. I'm not sure if that many people actually book, it's almost impossible to find any reviews - apart from ones on their own website which of course are all excellent (and probably made up). There website is very confusing for people and very hard to book and hire a van out using them. There are suggestions it's actually a scam site. One to avoid I think.
