The collar was too complicated for us…
The collar was too complicated for us and offered no advantage to walking our reactive Great Dane. It offered greater complexity with no increase in control of lunging at over the double the price of the Gentle Leader. The little piece of plastic piece below the throat was cheap and looked vulnerable to breakage. The idea of it being more ergonomic is nice but I’m not convinced it’s more or less punishing than a Halti or Gentle leader or even a prong collar. When I went to read the fine print on returning the collar (buyer pays for return-fair enough). But then I saw the seller created 2 opportunities to refund less by charging for restocking fees or if the collar was soiled to deduct a percentage as well. They are more generous with exchanges which we didn’t want. I returned it in pristine condition and will hope for the best.

Hi Debra - we're really sorry that the Canny did not work out for you and your Great Dane. The plastic piece you refer to is actually made from acetal, a thermoplastic used for the plastic components that sit next to the engine in cars. It is designed to withstand heat and pressure and so despite its appearance, it is in fact very strong. We do not used a metal piece here as some dogs experience and allergic reaction to metal. In terms of 'punishing', it cannot be compared to a prong collar whatsover, which tightens and forces prongs into the dog's neck. As with a regular collar, once you fit the Canny, it stays in one position around the dog's neck and does not tighten. A totally different concept. If your collar is in a new and resaleable condition as you say, we will happily refund you but we do not feel it is unreasonable that if a collar is dirty, smelly or otherwise not fit for resale, that we deduct a percentage. The customer still receives the majority of what they paid while we dispose of a collar unfit for resale. But the vast majority of customers that request a refund receive the full amount.
Sturdy but nose piece too long
I liked the sturdy construction, and love how it keeps the head upright, but feel the critical nose piece is too long for my Aussies. It seems to have too much length behind the head for proper control. I’m trying to figure out a way to cut it or shorten it and still have it be functional.
Updated: Both dogs’ high neck measured 15”. We ordered size 4 then exchanged them for size 3. Still seems to be too much ‘nose’ rope length. I could take off take the carabiners, but we *like* those carabiners so the dogs can wear it as a regular collar when not in training. Not sure how to adapt it to my needs.

Hi Terri - can you confirm please that you are not attaching the leash to the carabiners? These are only for off leash only. This could be making the nose band length too long for you also. Very Happy Canny Collar User!
I have been a professional dog walker for nearly 14 years. The Canny Collar is the absolute best collar I have ever used for training dogs not to pull while walking on a leash. For me & my dogs, it has been a game changer. I have recommended it to numerous clients & neighbors, and they are extremely happy with the results. I will continue to use the Canny Collar for years to come.

Well worth it for dogs that pull
This collar is a game changer and was a recommendation from our dog trainer. My dog used to pull quite often but he adjusted very quickly to the new canny collar and walks calmly by my side. In the past, I have only felt comfortable using harnesses because he is a shar-pei with a lot of wrinkles around his face. I never trusted a collar until this one.

when amazon failed to deliver,we made a direct call to florida and was helped by a real person to get our collar...which did arrive a little later than was told but not his fault and at least we got our dogs new collar

Good products
Quick delivery. I particularly liked the option to not have packaging. Nice products but our adult ( rescued) dog is taking time to get used to the collar and still gets stressed. Canny collar provided us with useful links to try to overcome this. Thanks

This one really does work!
Having tried a number of other anti-pull collars with my previous dogs over the years and always been left disappointed, I was sceptical about their performance. My current dog, however, weighs in at over 40kg and is inclined to pull badly on the lead in some situations, which prompted me to look again at the subject. After reading online reviews/information and speaking to several fellow dog walkers, I decided to try the Canny Collar and couldn’t be happier. Firstly it is well made and robust, giving me every confidence that it will last. More importantly though, the results from first use were genuinely incredible. After a handful of unsuccessful attempts to remove the muzzle loop by swiping with his paw or rubbing against my leg, he quickly settled in to wearing it and is now so easy to control. I can take him into shops/cafés etc without fear of embarrassment and leave my wife to hold him without coming back to find her flat on the floor! Highly recommended.

Exceeded expectations
I ordered a new Canny collar and lead for my Golden Retriever who ate the previous one. It was ordered on the 9/1/23 and I was delighted when it turned up this morning 10/1/23. I have used the collar before and it’s amazing and really help my dog walk without pulling. I recommend this family run company and the collar 💯

Thank you for your advice, i have tried what you advised and it is better with regard to dogs slipping nosebands.
I bought canny collars for both my rescue dogs and to be honest, I was disappointed. Although there was a small improvement in pulling they were both able to slip the noseband off really easily which made walking a frustrating experience, having to replace the band over their noses every so often. Extra complicated when walking two dogs because while your replacing one noseband, the other dog slips their noseband off!!
