I paid a deposit on a car with Carbase on Friday 20th March and was told that I’ll have to wait a week or so until the car is ready to test drive and the three day rule on deposits wouldn’t apply to me, I was happy to go along with this as I wanted the car.
Due to work commitments, I informed carbase I wasn’t available be to test drive the car until Wed.1st April, I still haven’t been told, at this point, if the car was even ready to view.
I then had a phone call off William who explained they weren’t prepared to wait until Wednesday as it would be in breach of the company’s deposit policy??, Carbase would send my deposit back and put the car back on sale.
This is not very customer focused a would have expected better from Carbase considering I’ve been patient waiting to see the car for over a week.

Senior managers definitely owe me an apology and offer to pay my travelling expenses. I was totally misled.
After travelling the best part of 100 miles from London to Bristol to view a £30,000
Mercedes 21 reg C43 convertible which Carbase were selling with Service History through Autotrader I arrived to find the car had only had one service documented since New no other services existed so I was very disappointed, especially after a 200 mile round-trip senior managers could not even be bothered to to get up from behind their desk! to reach out to me ! and apologise. Instead they left it up to the polite salesman Mirgen who understood my frustration but said his hands were tied. And was left to apologise himself.
One service record in five years of a Car‘s life for a £30,000 car it’s really poor show to put it mildly.
The only positive experience was I loved the car but not taking into Acount absolutely no service history to speak of.

Carbase Bristol were fantastic because they have a great choice of cars and friendly staff, thrre warrenty packages have you covered from every angle if your prepared to invest in them which i do. I have just bought my third car from a carbase branch and as it stands its the best car i have owned near enough the quality of a brand new car. Highly reccomend! Will be going back in the futute for my forth.

We were able to view the vehicle on the day. We were also able to put a reserve on the vehicle will the knowledge of getting a full refund back. Quick to book for a follow up test drive (following day) . No pressure to buy. No pressure to have all the add on products. All info explained clearly. Able to take vehicle home on same day. Salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you very much!

Excellent smooth, honest and professional service. We were helped with our purchase from Carbase by Danny Port. He was friendly, polite and very helpful. Danny guided through the whole process which included part exchanging our existing car, changing the tax with the DVLA and providing 3 days insurance so we were able to purchase on the spot and drive home fully legal. The whole process was seamless and left us very confident that we had purchased from a reliable source. Would definitely recommend. Vey pleased with our new car. Thank you

All fine with this company until you're vehicle brakes down , you can't get through to anyone and the rac cover they have sold you isn't worth the paper it's written , the whole experience was a complete nightmare, got rid of the van within 12 months with a huge financial loss,

Very helpful and friendly staff, the sales process was explained well, a bit frustrating being passed to so many staff, and waiting a while (it was busy). the test drive was fine, the only negative I would say applies in my case going from a fossil fuel car to a high tech EV, the hand over was not really helpful, we should have been assisted with registration for manufacturers specific charge tools, on departure we had quite a journey but the car was minimally charged (I guess they do not have a rapid charger on site) so a simple pointer to the closest rapid charge station would have been very useful. All in all a pleasant process

I am currently in an ongoing dispute with Car Base Bristol regarding a vehicle purchased on 13 March 2026.
Within the first 24 hours of ownership, a fault became apparent whereby the boot was opening randomly. This issue was also observed during the test drive, indicating it was present at the point of sale. Due to safety and security concerns, the vehicle was returned to the dealer the following day.
Since then, communication has been inconsistent and, at times, contradictory. Various explanations have been given regarding the fault, and despite requests, clear written confirmation of the diagnosis or repair plan has not been provided.
I was informed the vehicle may require several weeks for repair, but no courtesy car has been offered. In addition, the vehicle was supplied with minimal fuel and returned with approximately £80 of fuel added, which has not been reimbursed.
I have now formally exercised my right to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and am awaiting resolution. At the time of writing, I remain without a vehicle or refund.
I would strongly encourage anyone purchasing a vehicle to ensure all assurances and fault diagnoses are confirmed in writing.

Horrendous experience at Bristol Carbase, started off with a gentleman who helped us purchase our car, he then passed us over to his colleague to go through the paperwork and financial side of things. The male colleague, Shina, bullied us into paying an extra £70 a month for a warranty, he took the payment then conveniently told us the rest of the information regarding the warranty and that it doesn’t actually include a lot of things he said it would. We asked to cancel the warranty and he told us this wouldn’t be possible as they’d already set up the direct debit. We’ve had nothing but issues with both cars we bought from here. Staff will be nice to get you in and get you hooked on a car, bully you into paying for all of these added extras, then there will be zero support or help when everything goes wrong. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Every single person I’ve spoken to who has bought a car from Carbase have also had nothing but trouble.

I had a really awful experience with Carbase Lympsham where they delayed the sales process so much due to miscommunication amongst themselves that I almost lost out on buying a car. Now it seems although I can file a complaint, I’m getting no recognition that it has been filed or acknowledged and it has been over a week without any reply.

Absolutely terrible experience with Carbase Bristol.
I purchased a 73 plate 10,000mile car from them on 15th March and within days it developed a serious issue with the cooling system, the car is over heating and filled with water instead of coolant! Which could possibly be contaminated coolant. Possibly leading to full engine failure. This clearly shows the vehicle was not properly checked before sale, despite being told it had undergone a “full RAC inspection.”
I was also misled about features and pushed into buying warranty which I want to cancel! I was told the car had a front camera, which it does not, and it has a chipped windscreen that was not properly addressed.
Trying to get this resolved has been even worse. Emails have been ignored and follow-up promised calls off the appropriate managers not returned. I was told to pay for diagnostics myself, which is completely unacceptable given the fault occurred immediately after purchase.
This has left me without a reliable car, affecting my ability to work and attend important medical appointments.
Very disappointing experience. would not recommend.
