Terrible company

This company is the worst insurance…

This company is the worst insurance company ever. I sent an email to there auto renewal address not to renew my policy. Thought that was the end of it, 2 months latter I get an email saying I owe the £380 for the cancellation of my policy, can’t get any answer back from them they just don’t respond after numerous complaints and emails. They took the money from my bank fraudulently which my bank refunded me, since then they have tried 3 times to take the money again, I am currently seeking legal advice over the matter.
Please do not use this company if you can help it there a bunch of SCAMMERS.

Fraudulent behaviour

I insured a car with them in 2022. The transaction was simple. However, they have tried to take various sums of money since. Someone there is recording credit card details and attempting additional debits from my credit card.

Had my car insured as a van with the wrong named driver. Cancelled my policy and they still took my money out.

Absolutely shocking experience reduced to tears!…

In over 30 years of driving I have never been dealt with the way I have today. The interaction with the customer services member Reginald Assur, reduced me to tears.
The questioning was patronising, belittling and very unfriendly. I wonder what training they receive if any.
I have purchased online insurance for years but never again after today. I have paid nearly £450 up front for the year. I then receive an email today saying my insurance will be cancelled, if I don't ring them to validate it.
My insurance is due in 48 hours at this point.
The whole quote was picked over with a fine tooth comb. May as well done a phone quote not online.
I will admit I didn't include a no fault incident where a lady damaged my car door 2 years ago. Not even excess was paid and I have protected no claims.
My quote then went up to nearly £800. Shocking! by this point the way I was spoken to made me just want to end the call and I asked for a refund of my premium, also the new quote was extortionate. Bare in mind the policy hasn't started yet, I am being charged a cancelation fee. I asked for this to be put in an email, to be told no it will just be a verbal exchange. The whole experience has left me upset and in utter shock at the abrupt way I have been dealt with. Please avoid this broker like the plague.
I have now declared my minor no fault incident and Tesco have quoted me £518 in comparison with all the extras that weren't included with Carline.
I now wait to see if I get my money back as told 7 to 10 days. I will now have to pay monthly this year.

DO NOT US THIS COMPANY

Do not use this company. They are a total con. I took out insurance and with 3 days of the agreed price they up it by £426 saying I'd been in a multi collision 💥 I have 9 years no claims....... they also tried taking money out of my account without my consent which has been confirmed by my old insurance LV

Miss selling, extortionate cancellation fees.

Stay away from this company. Partner took out insurance less than 24 hours later we were told that it would be three payments in one month, cancelled it at the earliest opportunity (less than 24 hours from purchase) and was told that there would be a £45 cancellation within 14 days AND a usage charge of £32. So for less that 24 hours of cover we were expected to be charged £77. Didn’t seem to care that we were told next and all payments would be taken out in the 1st as they put in their t and c its different. Kicked up a fuss and got half taken off the cancellation fee. Still not happy but after reading other reviews I just wanted rid.

Bought a policy recently

Bought a policy recently, downloaded the my portal app and validated the policy over the phone.

However this is when the nightmare begins. My policy does not appear on the app. I’ve rang them several times only for them to hang up. Can’t get help in the app. Just read all the reviews written here and don’t engage with them. I really wish I hadn’t.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Came up cheapest through a price comparison site which I often use with a low upfront payment.

Text me to contact urgently to verify, suddenly the payment had DOUBLED had to proceed as was in a rush to go out and had spent over an hour trying to get through, was worried I wouldn't have been insured etc. They tried advising price had gone up as I wasn't the owner of the car (my partner is)..

Having done further research, obviously the company has horrendous reviews, ended up with tesco for half the price. No disputes regarding the price, no problems at all.

Called to cancel within 14 days, charged for days used (which is fair enough) but also charged £45 cancellation fee despite being in the 14 day cooling off period.

Trying to cancel, awaited a callback from 9am, kept trying to call as couldn't cancel through their portal, nor via the online chat. Calls kept getting cut off after 30mins on hold.

But funnily enough sales answered within 5 mins, but they weren't authorised to deal with cancellations.

Just AVOID. Not worth the headache, endless hours on hold, or disgraceful prices.

Absolutely horrific service

Absolutely horrific service, I have been trying for two weeks to get to speak to someone in the company. I simply wanted to just change my policy over to a different vehicle. I haven't been able to drive for two weeks as no one will get back to me. They keep telling me on the live chat that someone will call me but they never do.
At this stage I'm in the process of cancelling the policy (If someone will get back to me).
AVOID this company if you value your time and money

HAPPY SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Nobody likes speaking to automated machines...... if you ever need to deal with this company, i can assure you they do ring back as promised using their portal. Thank you Carline Direct ....big thank you to Nash Dirks

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, unpleasant staff who intimidated my 87 year old mother when she was trying to sort out why the policy went from £340.00 to £600.00. She was told it was because she had an accident which was not correct. A man damaged her vehicle in a car park and he admitted total responsibility and paid all costs. When she tried to cancel the new policy they tried to ignore her request and talk over her! Eventually when she cancelled it she was charged £25.00. There are much better responsible companies available with nicer staff and more efficient and cheaper.

Please please save your time and money and don't use these guys. The most awful customer service experience I've ever had. If it wouldn't have taken so long to go through the cancelation process I'd have willingly paid the additional fee to cancel!

Absoloutely shocking company

Absoloutely shocking company - avoid like your life depends on it!

Like dealing with a bunch of monkeys at a circus how these morons are allowed to operate is beyond me .... a brick wall has more knowledge about car insurance

And the arrogance and rudeness from this morons is disgusting, paid a deposit of £45 to be told to phone and verify which I did which then proceeded to an argument, because of the monkeys that don’t understand how no claims discount works
After getting into a heated argument with the so called gentleman dealing with the verification who was gunning for an argument, goading customers
Absoloute disgrace of a company have people working for them like him shame I didn’t get his name

Then after telling him I wanted to deal with a supervisor or manager to be told there are no such people - what business operates without supervisors or managers?!

And to add the icing to the cake, when I told them to forget the policy, I want the deposit back to be told there will be a £25 cancellation fee for one hour!! Saying it’s because the policy is active yet I was told to activate the policy I had to phone to verify and activate the policy

There’s a reason this company has 2 stars

This company is beyond incompetent

This company is beyond incompetent. I have told them several times I did not want insurance with them as far too expensive. They don't take any notice. Today I recieved a letter from Close Bros. unexpectedly - saying I had agreed to pay 403.13 by instalments. I never agreed to this. They put me through to complain but of course you could not get through. AVOID AVOID AVOID !

BE WARNED,keep well away frpm this company, i got insured with them through a comparison site , i paid £53 deposit , after 5 days i decided to cancel through the 14 day cooling off period, not only did they keep my £53 but also charged me another £27 for using there insurance, in total it cost me £80 for 5 days insurance
they are the worst insurance company around they also trade under the name Van Line Direct.
