Horrible experience with carpet right, you deserve the bankruptcy!

Every time my partner and I went to the Botley Store, it was closed when on the website it said it was open in late afternoon and evening. Only once was it open, but we were unable to get what we wanted, as we were not given enough time to select what we needed. We were trying to purchase vinyl flooring for our bathroom and eventually sourced it from the Carpetright branch in Swindon. I complained to Carpetright, but got absolutely nowhere. Only allowed to complain about the service if I had a contract with them, so they kept on asking for an order number, which I didn't have and explained why. Then they turned round and said they could not investigate my complaints and provide feedback, citing Data Protection Regulations as it they claimed it was an internal investigation and so couldn't reveal details of outcome. I told them that revealing the outcome of the investigation was in the public interest, but they refused to budge and stopped answering my E-Mails. Perhaps under TAPI the service will be better, although staff at the Abingdon branch could have been more polite (22/07/24). The earlier brush with Carpet right was last year.

Carpet Right is the most annoying vendor I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I placed an order last July and I still haven't received it. Despite my order being placed online, it took constant chasing on my part to ensure it went through, as no one bothered to follow up or ensure their system was functioning. After months of frustrating calls and emails, the order was finally confirmed.

The processing took an eternity. I was even instructed by Luke at the local store to cut my carpet into pieces, or they wouldn’t deliver. After 11 months of waiting, they canceled the entire order, forcing me to start all over again. (Thanks to M Kay for his help) Today, I was supposed to receive my order, but after waiting all day, I called to check the status only to be told it hadn't arrived. The communication is nonexistent, the customer service is abysmal, and their attitude shows a complete lack of care.

We visited the Oxford branch this evening to have a look at the wool carpets and the team was so nice and helpful.

I recently visited carpet right in Templar square to enquire about vinyl flooring and I have to so say Luke was very helpful and polite, he was very detailed with all the different types of flooring and really gave us a good insight of what we wanted, if you are planning on visiting I would definitely recommend to go to luke.

I had very good experience. I wanted to gain more clarity about whole process and manager that served me was very helpful. She was very polite, patient and has explained everything in very calm and clear manner, and hasn’t mind my numerous questions and clarifications. For me, choosing such things as the right flooring are always stressful, but she helped me to map out whole process and offered good advice regarding durability of different carpets, so I am really grateful.

My visit today in store was really nice the team eas brilliant.

The Oxford Botley store is about to close down and offers huge discounts. Picked the carpets that we like and paid deposit in store, measurement did quickly as planned and went well. I do not know the fitting date when they came for measurement and I said I will schedule it later. Agreed the total payment during measurement, received the payment link. Tried to pay online with the link within the said time in the email but the link didn't work, tried to call Botley store and waited for 30 mins on the line, no one picked up the call. Waited for around 2 weeks, no one contacted me. Paid a visit to the Cowley store on a Sunday afternoon and try to make the balance payment. The same guy from the Botley store is in Cowley store, I remember him and he remembers me. Tried to make balance payment in store, system doesn't work. Time wasted. He promoised to follow up on Monday and call me. No call received on Monday. I call again on Tuesday, another person (not sure if he is the store manager) checked the order and told me the carpets that they promised to hold under my order is gone and they cannot locate where the carpets are.

Very few choices remaining in Cowley store. We only wanted to sort this out quickly. We select the carpets again. The guy in Cowley store did not allow us to choose the carpet that I like and we went into a heated discussion. He said I must choose a 4x 2.7m size for the hallway and stairs but the one I like is 4 x 4m. I told him that I understand what he meant, but the default is on the part of Carpetright.It is not our fault and I think he should handle this as a special situation. I told him if I cannot choose the carpet that I like, then I request a refund. Obviously, he doesn't want me to seek refund.

At the end, we've chosen something that is not our first choice, he used a pen to write down the fitting date at the back of the receipt and I didn't even get an email confirmation the fitting session (not sure if this is the usual practice for Carpetright, first time using it). I asked him what time approximately they will come on the scheduled fitting date and he didn't even want to answer my question.

Overall, a terrible experience in Oxford Botley and Cowley stores except the lady came for measurement was friendly and professional.
