No help whatsoever. There's no need for me to even explain my review, there are so many others who have already said the same thing I'm going through with my so-called warranty. Very sad.

Here is my number, I would like to discuss the issue you were having and see if I can assist. I would also be interested in reaching out to the dealership you are referring to. I look forward to discussing this with you. - John - 888-335-6838 ext. 1281

Say NO to cars protection plus plans period

I purchased a ram 3500 the rearend went out so they paid for a used rearend. That rearend went out in less than a year. No I need another rearend and they only willing to pay 1100 out of 4000. This has to be the worst company ever. It has been in the shop since June 23 2020 and still not out so to them not wanting to pay. Is there a way that they can be investigated cause my warranty says they supposed to pay everything besides all of the labor rate?

It is not often that I leave reviews

It is not often that I leave reviews. Especially negative ones however, I am completely dissatisfied with the warranty coverage and all the minuscule fine print that is in the lightest of grey... had I been able to leave 0 stars, that is exactly what you would have received.
I have a vehicle that has a dry clutch (inside the transmission) and not a (Haha, here’s the catch) “lubricated part”.... That was NOT covered under warranty. Now I’m sorry, but when that goes out... YOUR VEHICLE DOES NOT DRIVE! So please explain to me why and how that should not have been covered. Perhaps you should list the vehicles that this warranty is useless on. As a single parent and out of work due to covid-19, I was forced to chose between holding on to the money I had to make it through this and paying for the repairs.

Dont waste your money!

I brought my car into Brahman Honda in the beginning of March. They screwed me around and nickle and dimed me for more money and more work than I went in for. The dealship forced my hand at the work because the warranty company wouldnt take their world that the mechanic had diagnosed the issue and wanted proof first. They didn't want to pay for all the labor cost that were required for their "covered work". Then wanted to ship the parts to the dealer to save on costs which would have taken several weeks. All of this happening amidst the covid pandemic which would have caused an even further delay. The lack if coverage leaves me wondering why I'm paying an extra 6k for my loan to have this warranty if I'm going to be paying almost 2k every time I bring my van in for their "covered services". I have 5 kids and got this van and this warranty so if something went wrong it would be covered and I wouldnt be spending an arm and a leg. Well thats not the case with this warranty. Not to mention they don't cover a rental vehicle so all that time your vehicle is being serviced you are also being charged for the rental while you wait for their slowwwww process to take place. I had to take a loan out to pay for the remaining repairs just to get my vehicle back. They will cover the tiny little parts on the very inside at the bottom of the motor but not the work required to actually get to said part. I let my friends all know about this terrible warranty and how much I am being ripped off for.. so they don't make the same mistake! All the money I had set aside to move got blown out with this crap tastic warranty. Oh and not to mention they didnt even fix the issue! 5k dollars later...unhappy! Makes it pretty hard to make payments and fix a car when the economy has tanked and you use your car to work from! Oh and lastly they said if I took my van from their shop and brought it somewhere else the warranty wouldn't cover my work. So I was forced to accept a higher rate from a company I didn't want to do business with because my van was basically being held hostage or else my work wouldnt be covered. I could have had my private certified mechanic do the work for a fraction of the cost.

Used toilet paper has 10 times more…

Used toilet paper has 10 times more value than this warranty This company only warrantees things that don't break down. Don't waste your money. Read what others have said and ignore the fake reviews the company posts for themselves. I bought a used car that came with a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty. The AWD failed 500 miles after I purchased the car. They put my mechanic through the wringer, won't answer phones, and when they do, it takes them 3 to 5 days to call back to tell them the repair isn't covered. My car was laid up for 6 weeks before I just went ahead and had the car repaired on my own dime. . Just keep the money you would spend on this warranty for future repairs.

Helped me out with repair cost

Helped me out with repair cost, and I greatly appreciate the people there who made my life better. This is the first time I ever had to utilize a warranty, and I am 100 percent satisfied!

Overall the warranty was great

Overall the warranty was great. The first dealership that I went to did not even take the time to call or even find out how the warranty works. So make sure you have the information about your warranty before hand when going to any local authorized dealership.

I really should have known better

I really should have known better. I almost never buy the extended warranties. I did this time. Mistake. The most recent repairs they are paying about 260 on a bill of well over $1000. They only pay the lowes price for parts (Rock Auto) . Definitely not worth it.

Complete scam! Do NOT buy from those crooks!

C.A.R.S Protection Plus is a complete scam for money. The people in this “company” are nothing but rude crooks who will try everything they can to avoid paying for repairs covered by the plans they sell. The crazy amount of complaints made against them via the Better Business Bureau says it all, I wonder how they can still be in business. My personal experience with them started when I purchased a Subaru Outback in the year range of the well-known Subaru head gasket issue. At the time of the purchase, the car had 80k miles, so close to when this head gasket issue is supposed to happen. The dealership I bought the car from sold me this C.A.R.S Protection Plus Unlimited Mileage Value Plus warranty insisting head gasket replacement, as well as many other parts, were fully covered. Long story short, a few extra thousand miles later, the head gasket started to leak (external leak). I went to my local Subaru dealership and they strictly refused to deal with C.A.R.S mentioning they had many troubles with them in the past. That and the fact it took us more than to weeks to find a Subaru Approved mechanic willing to deal with them in a 35 miles radius should have been my first clue. The mechanic diagnosed a leak in the head gasket as well as a rack and pinion leak, both covered under my plan. Before starting any repairs, the mechanic followed protocol and contacted C.A.R.S to advise them of the issue and give them an estimate for parts and labour as well as sending them pictures. He was told that in order for the head gasket repair to be authorized he would need to completely tear down the engine, something he said was totally unnecessary as there was a significant and visible leak. When he tried to speak to the C.A.R.S stating this was not needed and would add exponential cost to me to what would already be an expensive repair, he was only met with grief and the C.A.R.S representative hung up on him several times. I personally contacted C.A.R.S after the mechanic told me about his experience with them only to have someone hang up on me too and when I tried calling back, I was put straight to the voicemail, although they were still supposed to be open for another 25 minutes. I called back on the next Monday and after a long wait on the phone, I finally spoke to the receptionist who was clueless and transferred me to George (no last name, he refused to give it) who agreed he wasn't the one who dealt with this claim (Ed was the one, but again no last name and no one within C.A.R.S was willing to give me his last name). George told me the mechanic gave them no estimate. When I asked why the mechanic told me he told C.A.R.S the repairs would cost $2741 and Ed *no last name* told him C.A.R.S would pay up to $1161 after the $100 deductible, he said that was a lie. George was adamant that they would never give any payment estimate without the faults being clearly diagnosed even though they told the mechanic another story and gave him numbers. I said the rack and pinion fault was clearly diagnosed and George simply told me to forget about it and focus on the head gasket issue. He explained C.A.R.S might cover up to five hours of labour for tear down depending on proof of diagnosis from the mechanic. When I asked what happen if they decide that the teardown does not demonstrate definitive proof of a head gasket leak, I was informed that they would cover nothing I would be responsible for the full cost of tear down and re-assembly. At this point, I ended the call and contacted the mechanic to authorize him to officially open the claim for the rack and pinion repair. The mechanic wasted three days on fruitless talks on the phone with C.A.R.S that ended up nowhere as they kept hanging up at him. All this resulted in him no longer willing to deal with them as he lost a lot of time due to all this nonsense. He also called the car dealership and advised them of the trouble he had with C.A.R.S (and it was not his first time) and consequently, they are no longer selling C.A.R.S as their aftermarket warranty. I now find myself in a position of needing two significant repairs but cannot find any mechanic willing to deal with this company, not even a single garage in 50 miles radius. I feel like I've been sold a product that is absolutely useless and have wasted my money on what is a total scam. I have now started a formal complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau! These crooks should have been made to go out of business a long time ago! Do not buy any warranty from them, they will try anything to avoid honouring their part of the contract!

I would not from purchase this warranty…

I would not from purchase this warranty company. Terrible costumer service, would not pay full amount said they would pay, and costumer representatives never constant on what they would tell me and my mechanic. The supervisor hung the phone up on my while trying to resolve the problem of them not filing a claim after 2 weeks of my car being in the shop. Do not purchase from this company. Such a disappointment.

This company is a scam

First of all, I am not the person who purchased this warranty. I am the mechanic that is caught in the middle of what is going to be a very costly repair. Let me start by saying this company is a scam.

1. The representative that I am dealing with (not going to name names) J_M, is the rudest most condescending person I have had to deal with in recent history.

2. The company requires the mechanic to tear down the engine and tell them what failed and why. This is done at the car owners expense. So 20 hours x $110 per hour, you do the math. Right from the start, the car owner is paying for half of the repair. It's not good enough to tell them the crankshaft is black and the rod bearings spun. J_M wants us to tell them WHY it happened.

3. They only pay $75 per hour labor. I don't know any shops that are under $100 per hour so the customer is on the hook for the difference. Not to mention all of the other items they do not pay for that are part of the job and trust me there's a long list.

After jumping through hoops for these people I am afraid our customer is going to end up paying more for this repair than the warranty company will. This is the worst warranty company I have ever dealt with please do not deal with them or you will be sorry.

I will be sure to tell all of the used car dealerships we work with not to offer this warranty.

DO NOT BUY THEIR WARRANTY

Terrible customer service and communication. Paid $1,400 for the warranty and they don't want to pay for the services needed. Made the mechanic tear down my entire engine and send photos before they would approve anything and 3 weeks later, my car is still at the shop and they only want to pay $1,000 towards the $3,300. I definitely would not buy a warranty from this place, you'll get screwed.
