Underhand behaviour

Cash My Fone advertised my phone at £19 in good condition and working order. My phone worked perfectly, it had had a screensaver film on the screen which i removed to send resulting in an unmarked and unscratched screen and i also swapped the back for a brand new one (it came with a choice of 2 black or blue). When they received my phone I got a received e-mail and at the exact time another e-mail stating there were signs of wear and tear or minor technical issues. They reduced the offer to £16.15? why bother to offer a higher price when they do not intend to pay that price? It is hardly a fortune! The cheque did come in a couple of days though.

Scammers, the lot of them!

I used Cash My Fone to recycle my Blackberry Touch 9900 which was in perfect working order yet they emailed me to say they had to slash its value from £127.00 to £63.50 yet they didn't say why.

I emailed them asking that they do me the courtesy to explain what was wrong with the phone but they ignored my request & just mailed to say they would process the payment.

I have emailed them again requesting they explain their reasons & I am awaiting my response. I won't be holding my breath.........

I know for a fact that my phone was in perfect working order with no loose parts, marks or disfunctions yet this company have seen fit to rinse me of 50% of the value.

I have also been robbed by another company (Money For Your Phone) who actually damanged my iPhone 3GS before sending it back. They originally offered £63.00 for it yet when they mailed me they said the battery was corrupt & there was a black mark on the screen. The phone was in perfect working order before I sent it because I gave it to a friend to use for a short period whilst her phone got fixed. Yet low & behold, when my phone was sent back, there a was a huge great big black mark on my phone & the screen had now popped out place & is now worth less than nothing.

Beware of these companies, they'll clearly make up any old rubbish to rinse you of your money & completely destroy the value of your asset.

Unacceptable offer!

My phone was submitted without a mark on it as had screen protector on front and been in a case since the purchase but they reduced price by 15% due to scatches on front & back !! No mark at all went sent - very unhappy! Please be careful when sending in your phones!

Don't touch this company with a barge pole!

I was originally offered £45 for my htc desire on their website.
I have today received an email from them today with a revised figure of £38.25 because of the condition of my phone. According to their engineer there are scratches to the case and screen and also dents to the case at the top and bottom?

I've reluctantly accepted their offer because I've already paid for postage to send it through to them and would have to pay to have the phone returned.

Regarding the alleged damage what a joke, I admit there are a few minor scratches to the back case but none to the screen as I've had a screen protector on the phone from the 1st day an only took it off to post to them, the minor scratches to the back case happened in the 1st week when I had it in the same pocket as my keys (never again) and I went out an bought a silicone gel case to protect it and again only took that off to post it to them.

As you'll see from the reviews on this site it is not me having a go at them it's happening all the time.

You've been warned use them at your own cost and I agree with many others who say they should be closed down.

Thanks for ripping me and many others off 'Cash my phone'

will never use again

This is the first time I had a problem with a phone recycling company.
After agreeing a price they negotiate a lower price, other companies don't do this from my experience.

I will never use them again!

good service, but poor offer

Very happy with the speed of customer service, but i sent in a used and working phone with minor case damage and only got offered the non-working price. They wasn't willing to change the value at all. But still better to sell it than to loose under your bed.

RUBBISH

I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE NOT VERY GOOD , THEY DO NOT GIVE THE CORRECT PRICES AND THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY GOOD ADVISE AND THEY ARE VERY BAD AT CONTACTING CUSTOMERS IF THERE IS A PROBLEM .
I SENT IN 6 PHONE WHICH THEY OFFERED ME £300.00 FOR AND AND WHEN THEY RECEIVED THEM THEY MADE UP LIES ABOUT THE PHONES NOT BEING IN GOOD CONDITIONS AND THE PHONES WERE ALL LESS THAN A YEAR OLD AND HARDLY USED .

Cowboy company

Quoted the wrong price on website by £140. They then tried to break their own terms and conditions to get me to reduce the price due to a system error.

Fast service, but used T&C's a bit cheekily to get 25% off price

Received an email the day after I sent the phone, which is an impressive turn around. Was told that they had to knock 25% off the price, presumably because I sent the phone in a cover (how that knocks money OFF I don't really know...), but considering they had a good price already I decided not to bother getting into a protracted discussion about it with them.
Waiting to see if the money comes through in 48 hours as promised...

Quick service but disappointed by price which was lower once I sent phone

It was quick and easy to cash my phone in but they didn't pay me the price promised. Once they received my phone which was in VERY good condition they came back and offered a lower price - lower by a considerable 15%. I accepted it because by then it was easier to do so. But if when pricing up your offer, they expect phone to be in mint condition, or unused condition, they should say so. My phone was in a good condition but they subjectively said it wasn't.

Straight forward and easy process, efficient service. Just make sure you read T&C's!

My only problem was that I hadn't read the terms and conditions properly and it meant that after my initial quote, I actually received a reduced fee because when they "assessed" the phones there was damage to them. I wasn't aware they had to be in pristine condition to get the full value of the item. Other than that little hiccup the service was great and it all happened quickly so no problems there. I would certainly recommend this to other people that want to make a little extra cash.
