Insanely bad customer service

Insanely bad customer service, and I mean INSANELY BAD. Have a brand new product that doesn’t work? They’ll ignore you endlessly. Kmart level garbage products that function terribly. Unless of course you enjoy seeing your speed display at 95km/hr while standing next to your bike

Very Disappointed.

I purchased a Cateye velo Bicycle computer. First off I attached the wheel magnet and the sender. Trying to get the right distance between the magnet and the sender was difficult. Secondly I attached the computer to the handlebars. Unfortunately it was found impossible to remove the computer from the mount. I then removed the mount from the handlebars by physically cutting the cable ties. After much frustration I eventually separated the two items. I had to file down the catch on the mount to enable the computer to mount and release. Unfortunately I did not possess any new cable ties to remount the unit on my handlebars. I have ordered some new cable ties from ebay and will have to wait and see if my efforts have been worthwhile. On a different note, trying to set the unit parameters up is frustratingly difficult. I am now regretting having purchased this item. I relied on the reviews before making my choice but now regret buying it. I would award a negative review if possible. TOTAL RUBBISH in my opinion.
I have now decided to sell the item.

Extraordinary service

Extraordinary service. I lost the band to attach my rear bicycle Cateye light and feared the worst. But Nev sent me a replacement as a goodwill gesture FOC and it arrived the next day. This kind of service and kindness is virtually extinct Well done and thank you. Next time I need to purchase accessories Cateye will be my first port of call.

Has anyone installed a Cateye Wireless that works?

I inherited a Cateye wireless when I purchased my bike. The Cateye didn’t work despite my changing batteries and ensuring the installation conformed with the instructions. Stupidly, I purchased a new one three weeks ago. Installed it, again ensuring I followed the instructions. The new one doesn’t work. I’ve tried new batteries, mounting the system on a temporary set up with a spare wheel but to no avail. I can’t take it back to Halfords as I can’t find the receipt. Has anyone installed a Cateye wireless that works? A complete piece of junk.

Great computers – but they don't take responsibility when things go wrong

I ordered a Cateye cycle computer, sensor, and bracket to replace parts lost on a journey to a holiday house so as to be able to use them on the journey back. I ordered them more than a week before we were due to leave the holiday house, partly on the basis that the advertised delivery time was 1–2 days. However, Cateye use Hermes, and Hermes are uncontactable if something goes wrong. Something did go wrong. Four days before we were due to leave (five days after I made the order) I received an email from Hermes telling me that a 'major event' was slowing down delivery, but with no option to talk to anyone or ascertain an expected delivery date. So I wrote to Cateye to ask them to cancel the order if it could not be delivered by the day before we were due to leave. Cateye gave me the unhelpful response that they were now trying (apparently without any luck) to contact Hermes too. I re-emphasised that I would need to cancel if it could not be delivered in time, and confirmed the cancellation when it became clear that it would not be.

Four days after we made the journey (without working cycle computers) back from our holiday, I received an email from Hermes confirming delivery to the holiday let. Cateye now refuses to process the refund on the ground that the product has been delivered to a holiday let that I'm no longer at, and I am being fobbed off with the same email repeatedly, in which the customer service reps ignore the fact that I explained the situation and asked to cancel well before the item was delivered.

I would recommend that you do not order from Cateye. Hermes are uncontactable if anything goes wrong—apparently for the client as well as the recipient—and Cateye appear not to see it as their responsibility to sort things out when they do.

High quality flashlight

I bought the Cateye Volt 400 Duplex HL-EL462RCH Helmet. The flashlight is very robust, despite the powerful light the flashlight lasts several hours, as reported.
The helmet attachment is adaptable to different helmets, without adhesives, adjusts with velcro and does not move (used on Leatt DBX 3.0)
To mount and dismount there is a small tab and you can do easily with the helmet worn.
My favorite thing is having to recharge only one device and have both rear and front lights.
Overall a very good helmet/bicycle light with a remarkable quality / price ratio
