Have been trying to get a viewing on a property listed with this agency for nearly 2 weeks with no reply to emails or phone calls!!! Very unprofessional and quite embarrassing service!!!!!

Complete Unprofessionalism
I have never had a worse experience with an estate agent and I will not deal with Cooper Green again. Emily Dean was extremely rude and condescending to me when I was putting an offer in on a property. I am a genuine buyer who was looking to purchase with Cooper Green and to my shock she hung up the phone on me during a conversation about a property. I am disbelief at how unprofessional each interaction has been. Now I will not be looking to purchase with Cooper Green.
Renters be aware!
We rented for 2 years during which none of the reported faults were fixed. We used professional gardener, professional carpet cleaning and end of tenancy cleaning and chose a provider cgp recommended themselves. Yet they decided to keep our full deposit and ask for more for repair and redecorating - ironically also for the damage that was already there when we moved in. Well, need to call Shelter tomorrow and get the ball rolling. But everyone else thinking of renting from them I would say: alarm bells!
HIGH PROFILE LOW SERVICE.
I could have written the previous review!
This agent is a text book example of prominence and profile versus actual service delivery.
Only repairs that incurred a potential liability was addressed, everything else was ignored. CGP stand out for marketing profile and rhetoric in Shrewsbury, -because they can.....
Promises to address faults made to me before occupancy did not occur.
Of course they are liked by owners! They minimise any outlay for them.
If you are a potential tenant-have a care.
(Except for those interesting tenants who support them).
As an owner-go for it!
I am currently disputing a cost, levied AFTER I was told I had left the tenancy in excellent condition. The first I have ever had levied anywhere.
I had two professionals in to avoid this. It made no difference. Background shading show how they have used light to show negligible marks as major faults.
I have my own photos/video footage of damp and neglected overgrown surroundings and an 8ft high fence propped up with sticks! Yet I cannot charge them.
They are revenue collectors only, looking for ways to make money from departing tenants. I have now moved away from this town because of the dynamic of a Council business group of which these are a Board member.
As I said: it is all because they can.....
Added: I have refused to pay, even though this is a smallish amount. We go to arbitration. I will never voluntarily pay these 'agents' for what they did to me, unless forced by law to do so.
UPDATE: No arbitration. They didn't seem keen to involve a third party. I got my full deposit back. If you are CERTAIN you are correct, take them to arbitration. This outfit uses the Insured Deposit Scheme. They hold/bank your deposit (gaining interest!), but must involve (by law), third party-(arbitration)- in any conflict over a tenant deposit.
Rude staff, repairs take months
Can’t believe the issues I have had with this agent and now glad to see the back of them. We rented a small house for 4 years, twice during that time we needed repairs and had to constantly chase the agent for anything to get done. We had no hot water for almost 4 weeks last winter and had a newborn in the house at that time. The other repair was a leaking pipe which was left for over a month before I threatened to go to the ARLA then it got fixed the following day!
We left the house totally spotless and spent several hundred pounds getting it back to the condition it was in when we moved in, we hired professional cleaners and a gardener yet cgp still tried to claim
Our entire deposit back, they listed “repairs” as the reason and I had to chase them
For weeks to get an itemised list of the repairs, magically that made the bill get much shorter. Our agent was a very forgetful girl
And her boss was horrid to talk to, she didn’t follow through on anything and he defended her constantly. Avoid if you can!
Pretty awful
Pretty awful. Expressed interest in a property, confirmed by email that we loved it. No response, acknowledgment and no notification that we hadn't been successful. Clear that we want a rural property, but we're sent details about a 'property that fits our criteria' or similar words, which was a flat above a shop in the middle of Shrewsbury. Clearly agents who only value the landlords who pay for their services, with little regard to any prospective tenant. Only interested in correspondence when they need application details. Obvious indicator of how we would be viewed on their books, as actual tenants. Common courtesy and politeness go a long way; just not with these clearly 'better than the rest of us' agents. And, if we aren't paying for their services, we clearly don't matter to them
Both excellent and personal service
Reviews for this well established Shrewsbury company seem to be negative.
We have dealt with them over many years and have found them approachable, effecient and extremely courteous. They also go that little bit further to assist their clients.
I would suggest you give them serious consideration if you want an honest and locally knowledgeable opinion.
I see this agent has not improved
I see this agent has not improved over the years. We first dealt with them over 10 years ago and the service was shocking then.. We contacted them in August 2020 relation to a property to rent in Shrewsbury. Filled out the application form and offered to pay 12 months rental in advance as well as the holding deposit. We have been renting our current property for the past 6 years without issue and our current landlord has been very happy with us. This shower did not even have the decency to come back to us to tell us that it had been let to someone else.
Really poor customer service.
For the past 6 years I’ve had a lease…
For the past 6 years I’ve had a lease for a commercial unit through CGP. The 6 year lease came to an end this year so after speaking with CGP a new 6 year agreement was discussed and then agreed, all very easy and swift.
6 weeks before the new lease date the estate agents withdrew the agreed offer for no apparent reason, leaving me vulnerable and potentially without a unit to work from. After discussions CGP left me with only one option, re-offering the unit at much higher rate than originally agreed. This meant I was either left out of pocket or without an office, time was not on my side!
My initial experience through CGP was very good, however during the lease problems did arise so I contacted CGP to inform them and this is when I noticed cracks beginning to form. I felt unsupported and trapped within an agreement where I was being mistreated.
I’m not usually a person to leave bad reviews but this experience has affected my business over the past few months, leaving me under pressure to relocate my business to another unit which was within my budget.
