Products are Ok but the use of Royal Mail as a courier is suicidal I have had numerous problems with Royal Mail delivering for Bulk which I never had when they used DPD.
I was given an 12:30 deadline for delivery today after placing an order and requesting next day delivery. Upon contacting Bulk I am now told it could be up till 7:30 pm I ain't holding my breath. They have lost my custom
Great company and excellent service
Trustpilot removed my review from March 2020 because their subnormal AI decided I wasn't real, so here it is again:
Great service, got my package the following day despite ordering late in the evening. Always a quality product, would recommend these guys 100%.
Good Products, Suspect Marketing
Good products which I am happy with once received, but many other people's annoyance about wild yo yo pricing and the company's very misleading so called 'Sales' emails, is certainly very valid.
eg : an email claiming up to 70% off with this or that discount code generally leads to you finding that the price of your usual product has only been reduced by £1-£2 initially (now not qualifying for this discount code unless spending more to reach that base qualifying line, or similar trickery to try and get you to buy more).
Adding another item to then qualify can then ultimately mean the discount code only gives you a mega.......£4 saving, not even close to 70%, so stay eagled eyed.
Because the prices are up and down you need to keep records of how much you paid on earlier occasions so as to discern if you're being played with pre-sale price surge and suspect discounting. Admittedly I haven't been on the ball with that enough but several reviews here suggest prices are rising way too rapidly to be explained away by either Inflation, Covid, Brexit, Ukraine or whatever excuse companies generally use now for surges.
It gets to the stage where you hold off ordering because tomorrow's price may plummet a day or so after ordering in a so called 'Flash Sale', or may go in the other direction. Such hesitation then gets you sent emails asking if you've forgotten something you left in your basket.
At one point last year this hesitation led to the price dropping significantly over subsequent days as an incentive for me to complete the checkout but in 2022 this just leads to these emails coming about "flash sale" and "up to 70% off" etc, only lasting till midnight etc. You get the idea.
End of year sales tend to be stock with a shorter life but depending on the product this can work out really well if you use it frequently. I now ignore the persistent review requests (and unsubscribed from them) after giving a comprehensive review on an egg white protein powder order which was mostly positive but also raised some fair questions about egg sourcing, for ethical peace of mind. My review was on the site for a while and then vanished - definitely deleted by the site owners.
Again, I am often very happy with the products but am also tired of yo yo pricing, highly misleading claims of discounts, and other things. It could retrieve itself but I am far less trigger happy ordering these days due to far too much cry wolf with sales / discounts. For your peace of mind, edit your settings to stop being sent offer and review emails.
They have triplicated their prices, awful customer service
They took 3 days to answer my query about a discount not applying, just to admit that their marketing is misleading.
Now the price is even 20€ more expensive than it was when I wrote 3 days ago, but they keep sending those mails with "special offers".
It's really disappointing, I have been their customer for 3 years now and I recommended their brand to my gym friends, who have been buying their protein, cyclic dextrin and creatin ever since, but now they're just ridiculous.
I even had to sign up with different accounts to try and get some extra discount to avoid paying those hyper-inflated prices.
I know there's inflation and that everything got more expensive, but they went from being the best company with great value to ultimate scammers.
I will not buy any of their products ever again.
Completely Stopped Using Them!
Completely stopped using them after years of being a loyal customer. Prices have gone insane and they are no longer even competitive against the top name brands. Business model totally gone down the toilet and I don’t see how they can last losing their entire customer base. It’s cheaper now to buy brands like USN than Bulk when there used to be a chasm between them. Prices may have risen in many industries, but Bulk product prices are managing to rise faster than gas and electricity. I have not bought from them in so long and I’m going to unsubscribe from their lying emails where they con you into believing there’s a sale, but when you get to the website it’s all a load of rubbish. Do they honestly think we believe it was £53.99 for 1kg of basic Whey?? So they can say it’s £36.00 in a “sale” … Bulk you’ve lost your minds with insane prices and marketing like your customers are thick! A terrible shame. They were once my sole go to and often recommended. Now I’m recommending you avoid them. Bulk has gone the same way as the career of their patron Anthony Joshua. Bad to worse to over.
0 star
0 star. Terrible customer service. You email, they reply 3 days late and every other day they are asking for evidence instrad of putting it all in one email! So thrustrating. Never ordering from bulk again not worth it. Deliveries take forever aswell.
2.5kg Casein Powder, Empty Box, No Refund
I purchased 2.5kg of Casein Protein Powder, when the package arrived it was an empty box with just the free biscuit inside which was a promotion I guess. I raised this query with customer service and was told that the box had been weighed by both the courier and the warehouse before leaving and it was the correct weight and there was nothing they could do. This couldn't have been true as the box weight about 150g max when it arrived. I was spoken to as if I was making it up and told that there was nothing they could do and it was pretty much tough luck. Now I have paid nearly £50 and received nothing, have been spoken to like I am lying and have not received further communication. Simply not good enough, feels like a scam.
Absolutely disgraceful high prices
Absolutely disgraceful high prices. The price of their pure whey protein has trebled in a year. I have purchased 30kg of pure whey protein from them in the past and I will not be purchasing from them again
Expensive and late delivery
Expensive and packaged took three times as long as said to arrive.
Items Not delivered - No way to contact Bulk Powders
I ordered some items a week ago, and they were sent Tracked48 Royal mail. The items have not arrived and neither have Royal mail even attempted. The tracking advice is nonsense and keeps changing. Then when I try to look into it, I find there is no way to contact Bulk powders for the help I need. Bulk Powders have deliberately concealed their phone number which is mean. Additionally, they have not answered the email I sent, and it is very stressful. I am out of pocket, I don't have my items, and they do not seem to care. It is depressing and frustrating. Then I come to Trust Pilot to write a review, only to find lots of other people have had a similar experience! Come on Bulk Powders. Get it together. You build up customer loyalty and then spoil it with service like this. You should be there for your customers. If I have to file a claim for a refund from my credit card company it is the last time I will ever place an order with you. This is not they way to treat customers. Very disappointing.
I’d give it 0 stars if possible
I’d give it 0 stars if possible. Such a terrible company to deal with, I don’t see how their practices are even legal in the EU. Their protein powder is absolutely terrible, I don’t trust the label. Their snacks, bars and protein balls are disgusting. Don’t start me on their biltong, probably the worst thing I have ever tasted.
Product good, pricing and packaging terrible
Product good, but each time cost is different...terrible strategy. Also packaging came with so much, lots of fur, on top of wrap, on top of bubble wrap, boxes, more wrap.....for hard plastic bottles....seriously not inline with environmental policies to reduce plastics.
Awful delivery
Product was good, but delivery was a nightmare. Rescheduled for delivery 3 times and it never came but kept saying it was unable to be delivered. Ended up chasing the postman down the street, wrong address on the box!!! My housemate had the exact same experience with them.
awful awful company
awful awful company, recently purchased some protein powder and applied a 45% discount code, once i checked out they’d taken the full price out of my account without applying the discount code, sent them 2 emails demanding a refund and they’ve told me to wait 1-3 days for a reply when i’ve bought next day delivery, never purchase from this company. sticking to myprotein instead
NEVER again- disgraceful customer service
Purely on customer service I will NOT be using Bulk Powders again ever. There is no contact number for them so you have to rely on email, I have still not got a reply to the many emails I sent yesterday which will have a negative impact on me going forward. There are other providers that will look after their customers.
Harassment, pathetic company
The powders are fine, too expensive so I wont buy again.
That said, they sent me three (3) emails to ask me to rate them. This is unacceptable harasssment, and should be illegal.
What happened with these soaring…
What happened with these soaring prices!?
We are talking about x4 times more expensive than just a couple of months ago.
I have no choice but to move to another brand! I 👏🏻 have 👏🏻no👏🏻choice 👏🏻
Price hikes and misleading marketing
I have been buying my protein powder from Bulk for many years but have become more and more dismayed by the huge increase in prices. The marketing and constant bombardment of emails leads the customer to think they are getting a good deal. Buyer beware the prices have more than doubled in the last year. There is no excuse for this, other than greed and a disregard for their loyal customers. This loyal customer is moving to another brand
Death of a great company: Illogical, insane price hikes.
This company used to be a brilliant UK-based, family run business for good quality protein powders and supplements. I have been buying from them for nearly 10 years and the prices have just skyrocketed recently.
A prime example: Hydrolysed Whey Isolate (unflavoured) was my go to because it didn't contain soya (intolerant) and wasn't sweetened.
-Price paid on 6/1/2022:£44.40 for 2.5kg.
-Price quoted today 21/6/2022:£149.99 for 2.5kg.
Even with a 45% discount its £88. That is more expensive gram for gram of protein than chicken breast from Sainsbury's (£5 for 640g at 22g per 100g raw)
Its actually heartbreaking that we have come to this stage. Id rather not eat more meat but this is ridiculous.
Come on BULK you used to be amazing. What happened?
I have used bulkpowders for years and…
I have used bulkpowders for years and given them hundreds of £ of my money for their products. Unfortunately I wont be doing so again.
I bought a bulk deal and did not receive what I ordered. The convoluted process I had to go through to speak to a human was unbelievable.
1 - They have no telephone number to call them on to discuss anything at all
2 - The chat bot does not (or did not for days) pass you to a human to help you even though it says it will do. It just ends the chat.
3 - The only way to speak to a human is via email and each one takes up to 3 days to get a response from someone.
There seems to be zero end to end ownership with complaint cases.
On the back of such non existent customer service they have lost yet another Loyal customer (surely at some point the sheer mass of negative customer reviews should send internal bells ringing). I will shop at my protein from now on who do seem to have decent trustpilot reviews.
