Had a subscription for several years

Had a subscription for several years, three years ago it started, that the magazine did´t arrive my home. Long story short, got just 3 out of 8 magazines an didn´t extend my subscription.

Absolutely awful company to deal with

Absolutely awful company to deal with. Was double charged for a subscription and never received any issues. Emailed multiple times about cancelling and i havent gotten a response back at all and its been weeks. Had to cancel the card to get the random charges to stop. What a scam!

Magazines never arrived

Ordered via a special offer which I saw on social media offering a low introductory rate. 4 months later and no magazines have reached me in Ireland, I have had severla emails back and forth with a customer service rep called Richelle who has offered platitudes but nothing substantial

Scam company

Really bad, as you can see from other customer reviews. I subscribed to Racecar Engineering magazine in December 2022 and to date (11th April 2023) I still haven't received a single issue, which is a disgrace. I have contacted customer services by phone and email and all they have done is apologise and insist that they have sent out a new issue (obviously to someone else as I haven't seen it). Very bad, and should be avoided at all costs.

EDIT (8th July 2023): Another 3 months have passed, and yep, you guessed it, still no magazine to be found. I have been told countless times that it has been sent and that I should receive it, but I still haven't seen a single copy of a magazine I subscribed to more than 7 months ago! I strongly suggest you avoid this company at all costs. Moreover, they do not provide refunds (even if it is clear you have not benefited from the subscription). They state that it is the policy and cannot provide refunds. Pretty low-class thievery.

Chelsea magazines unacceptable behaviour.

I live in New Zealand and took out a subscription to English Home in October 2022. I have not received a magazine yet (February 2023). I have emailed the company 6 or 7 times only to be fobbed off each time. Initially there was a question about my address, then the British postal strike was blamed, and now they have refused to reimburse my subscription fee because I did not tell them I wanted a refund within 14-days of taking out my subscription. How stupid, I did not know that I was not going to receive my magazines at that time!

They have offered me the electronic magazine instead of the hard copy version. I do not want this!

The company is a fraud, they are unhelpful and their staff seem not to understand simple emails. I advise anyone reading this not to have any dealings with Chelsea Magazines.

Scam

Scam. I ordered 6 month subscription for my mother, here in Australia. Never received ANY of the magazines. Kept replying to my emails saying they would resend or to wait (50 days!) but nothing ever received. Am now seeking Ombudsman advice re getting refund, which I also have not received! Avoid these people at all costs.

I would give them minus stars if I…

I would give them minus stars if I could. Avoid at all costs. I subscribed to one of their 3 month offers on the Artists and illustrators magazine. They sent me 2 but I never saw the 3rd. I rang them and they said the summer edition (which is the one before the August edition) was on its way that was 2 months ago. I rang them again about a month ago and they said they would send me the August edition...which never arrived. Of course it was a lie like before when they said one was on its way. So it wasn't really an offer I could have bought 2 magazines for the price they charged in the shops. I like the magazine, but they should change their publisher because their bad reputation reflects on them.

I'm writing this to warn any small business who will get approached by them. They approached us last year for featuring us. Paid £960 and it was a total waste of money. They don't have subscribers as they claim and it didn't generate any volume to our website. That money was much better spent on Google ads.

Subscribed to the English Garden and failed to arrive

Subscribed to the English Garden and the first 3 magazines have yet to arrive. They added a further 2 months on to the subscription and said the 3rd could be up to 45 working days to arrive. We are at 45 days now and still no sign of it. If they are unable to deliver to New Zealand then just say so and don't take the money.

I called Chelsea Magazines to cancel my subscription because the person I was taking out was my wife who passed away a week ago. All I got was a very cold woman telling me because the subscription was in my name they could do nothing. What an appalling attitude. I did the same with Radio Times, in my name, no questions. They arranged a refund immediately. Never use this company. Disgusting.

Terrible service

I live in Canada, and subscribed to Artists and Illustrators almost 3 months ago. Still no sign of my magazines, although I was told 2 had been sent out. Unacceptable.

If it were possible to give zero stars…

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. I live in Australia so expected some delay on delivery of The English Garden magazine which I ordered in January, but I never expected that no magazines would arrive. Yes, it is nearly July and I've not received one magazine. I have contacted them twice already about this and have been told they are having delivery problems. But what t I would like to know is why I was able to pick up the April edition 5 weeks ago at my local newsagent and the Spring edition a few days ago from there, but neither have arrived in my letterbox direct from Chelsea. As others suggest I think it is a scam. I am told to allow 28 working days for delivery which means I should also have received the May edition by now, but it has not appeared. I also subscribe to Gardens Illustrated and they managed to get their June edition here on 30th May, so what is wrong with Chelsea magazines. I am pretty disgusted with them and if nothing arrives by mid July, I'll be demanding my subscription back in full.

Appallingly bad service - complete scam.

I can only add to the list of complaints. Took out a subscription to Artists and Illustrators magazine last year. Got an email saying that they would be changing their postal service- after that, got one issue 3 months late. Since then, nothing since February. I’ve contacted them twice- a lot of nonsense about overseas mail being delayed, etc. and issues no longer available, so they will extend my subscription. Agree, it’s a total scam. Perhaps they have never sent any of the magazines. There doesn’t seem to be any way of getting my money reimbursed either.

This organisation is a total shambles

This organisation is a total shambles. I took out a year subscription for Wedding Ideas in September 2019. The first issue arrived in December. In 2020 they discontinued that magazine and unbeknownst to me they replaced it with English Homes - why would anyone want English Homes if they were looking for Wedding Ideas? The subscription was being sent to my future daughter in law who moved from London and the address to which the subscription was being sent in September 2020 when my annual subscription should have terminated. So I didn't know anything about the change of title or that it was still being sent. I just noticed on my bank summary that Chelsea Magazines were still taking money from my account and when I spoke to them they refused to acknowledge that they were in the wrong - apparently it was all my fault that I hadn't stopped the direct debit - even though my subscription was for a year and should have expired in October 2020. And they didn't think it was an issue that it was a totally different magazine. Also I had never received any communication from them concerning my direct debit or the change of title. Their customer service is atrocious.

This must be total scam

This must be total scam. I placed a subscription of The English Home in November, but I never received an issue. Emails to the Customer Service have not been helpful. I wish I had read these reviews before ordering, in the future will definately do so.
