BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT TRUST!!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Do not trust this company,
Have given 1 star but only because you have to give 1 to be able to comment.
Bought tortoise lodge and within a hour of paying and asking for specific date they were trying to change the date and then reverted back to date I had actually asked for.
Communication rubbish as all online, I always keep copies of my online chats especially on things I am wanting to buy so that I can revert back to it.
I was told the lodge would be fully insulated throughout, on the day they arrived they left without insulating the roof and so when enquired about this they then tried to say they dont normally insulate roofs and the only reason they finally agreed to come back was O had proof of them stating it and sending me pics of examples.
Whats the point of a insulated tortoise lodge if not fully insulated... when back at our property after changing the date they were coming back 3 times and making up excuses, they then decided they couldnt get it to line up and tried blaming the plastic lining and I got £250 back refunded to sort it myself.. when in fact we had a look they hadnt covered the whole ceiling with the jablite, there was a patch without it. The roof bearers were not put in level, the building itself is not actually level and doesnt even sit square on the base ... the base was factory bought and fitted and square and we have proof of all of this.
The windows both leaked and so we had to adjust these ourselves and are having to pay out of pocket for new windows as they are so poor quality and again not even square.
Roof not fitted correctly and not enough overhang on the edges, we have again had to pay extra for this on top of the money they refunded to get this rectified.
We got our electrician in and found out that big patches in the walls were missing jablite but even worse the door and the floor arent insulated at all even though correspondence stated it would ALL be fully insulated.
We are now having to remove ALL the plastic lining inside and start from scratch inside after we have found out there is no breathable membrane or vapour barrier and no air gap and the jablite insulation they put in which is in patches is wedged between the cladding and the plastic so therefore will just mould and rot.
WE HAVE PROOF OF ALL OF THIS SO CHERRY ACRES CANNOT TRY TO DENY THIS.
Its now costing us a additional £500 at least to rip out what insulation and lining they had and replacing it properly once we have put im breathable membrane and full insulation, air gap and vapour barrier.
I feel like trying to do a chargeback for this rectification but when I mentioned I would do a chargeback if they didnt come to insulate the roof they were very rude and aggressive and threatening to come back and rip everything out and take it all away. If i had known then just how bad the walls and roof really were I would have told them to come get it! Although now reading other peoples reviews I may not have got anything back then.
I have not received what I paid for as I paid for a fully insulated lodge and although was refunded back for the roof after I threatened chargeback I then found out the other issues i.e no insulation in floor, door and patchy walls which I have proof of! Leaking windows.i may still try to do a chargeback TOWARDS the cost of materials having to rectify the door, walls and floor insulation.
Proof of all correspondence including them being aggressive and threatening to come back and remove everything I have. Proof of what I was told I was getting, and proof both photo and video of the back work we have including no insulation in door, under floor and patchy walls . Not fit for purpose and rescue tortoises still not able to use it a month later!
Disgusting workmanship although they were very quick to slag off a competitor he said he used to work with about shoddy work.
DO NOT TRUST !!!!!!

Tortoise cottage

I ordered a tortoise cottage from Cherry Acres Animal Housing with an expected four week wait for delivery. The item was completed within two and a half weeks. There was just a one day delay to the original delivery date but I was kept fully informed via telephone conversation and then the delivery was tracked via text message. The quality of the build and material used for the tortoise house is excellent and I'm sure will last for many years. It is now occupied by one happy tortoise. I would highly recommend this business. Put an order in over 12 weeks ago

Put an order in over 12 weeks ago. Had countless deliveries changed on me on the day of arrival. Asked for money back and a simple bank transfer has still not arrived. Will now ask the bank to intervene. Avoid this company

You ordered online with a credit card or debit card the refund has gone back onto the original method of payment as this is the law in the uk
We can’t transfer refunds into bank accounts that the purchase didn’t come from like you have been asking us to do
We have sent you evidence of the refund for your records so you can show the bank
As they will see that the refund has been processed back to the card used

Excellent product and service

I ordered a tortoise cottage which arrived today. I am extremely pleased with the product, and it represents excellent value for money. Made to order and delivered 11 days later. The house is really substantial and looks made to last. Would not hesitate to recommend or place future orders based on our experience.

10x5ft Burrows rabbit shed

Beautiful, well constructed rabbit shed with lots of nice details, clearly well designed and thought through. I was kept updated of arrival time throughout the day which was great. However, this company’s strongest point is not communication. In an ideal world I would have wanted to chat to someone about more customisations but it proved almost impossible to get past the receptionist even for basic things like finding out the delivery date so I dropped that thought. Something that can be improved for sure! But the shed itself is really nice and I’m very happy with it.

Bizarre

No refund after a week! Won’t reply to calls, blocked on socials. Taken full funds with no product!!!! Where is my money? Posted a Google review with proof of this being a reputable review , shame I can’t post on here.

My experience has been AWFUL!

4 times delivery has been cancelled! Now offered me another which is 10 days away which is absolutely not good enough. I wrote on there social media as I havnt been able to get in touch with whoever is letting me down and they blocked me from there socials.

They were happy to respond when I first contacted them promising a quick delivery and that being why I paid and booked. They worked quickly to take the FULL money but the only response and help I can get is a lovely lady who’s stuck in the middle unfairly and the people constantly letting me down refuse to contact me. It’s the most bizarre situation.

After paying all that money I’m wondering what is going on with this company, if they are even reputable as I’m unsure how a business runs this way.

I’ve never dealt with a company like this before. They blocked me on socials and then I recieved an email to state a refund has been issued. I’m yet to recieve the money back but I advise not to use this company.

I have since spoken to several businesses who have worked or subcontracted with cherry acres, just through now looking for an alternative animal house, the issues from this company are apparently well known. One of which stated they have had alot of issues with delivery and that I wouldn’t want to order with them as the product I asked for was supplied usually by cherry acres and another pet store in Wickford who no longer works with them, due to the unprofessionalism. Wish I had read trust pilot before putting trust into this company. Really hoping to see the money back in my account soon so I can purchase elsewhere as it’s really left me in a mess.

Whilst the communication could have…

Whilst the communication could have been better - did have to chase confirmation the delivery date twice. But the shed did arrive on the date they gave us - with no delays or changes.

The delivery men were excellent - arrived in the hour that was given, polite and built the shed speedily.

Shed looks great and well built also.

AVOID - repeated delays, excuses and terrible overall service

Unfortunately I have to echo the rest of the negative reviews already on Trust Pilot. Same story - terrible comms, excuses on excuses for delayed delivery:

Delivery 1: The yard flooded, couldn't deliver
Delivery 2:Both trucks were already out
Delivery 3:Were aiming to get to me but got stuck at stop 1
Delivery 4: Mistake made...when they said Saturday 21st they meant 28th
Delivery 5 (supposed to be today): Someone died

How Hannah has the front to carry on with this I just do not know, not to mention coming up with more and more excuses as to why there is yet another delay. The evidence of this pattern happening time and time again is here in black and white. I'd be utterly ashamed as a business owner.

After the 1st delay I was offered (without asking) and accepted £100 refund as I explained to them that my rabbits are in boarding whilst this fiasco was continuing and costing me a fair amount. I asked for another £100 today after the latest excuse (both amounts together come nowhere near to what it's cost me!) but that was a no.

I no longer have confidence in the end product - if a company cares so little about their customer, I dread to think what the workmanship would be like. I have now cancelled and found a couple of new suppliers I will be calling on Monday. I'll post reputable ones here once I have my rabbit shed to help others avoid Cherry Acres!

Please, save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

EDIT: I was waiting for the very typical response which attempts to turn it all around and accuse the customer of being the problem and here it is below - and it speaks volumes.

It’s amazing that Cherry Acres believes they have even an ounce of credibility left on this page and that any prospective customer would consider their response to be remotely believable.

Last time I looked, requesting compensation for costs incurred due to a company's errors / incompetence wasn't blackmail. I suggest you remove this libellous comment.

Offer a product and deliver it on time and as described without multiple delays coupled with terrible excuses, or apologise (and compensate) for your appalling service.

I am sure that this won’t be the last review along these lines for this company!

We gave you a £100 refund as we over run the installation before your delivery on your installation day as this was on us
We told you we couldn’t keep offering you more and more

Outstanding quality and customer service

I recently received my custom made Dog Kennel which was handmade using the highest quality materials and was assembled in my garden.

I was so impressed with the overall quality and excellent customer service and will definitely be using Cherry Acres again real soon.

All promise no delivery

Booked and paid for a bespoke order. The company, quick to take my money, then strung me along for 3 months, with repeated failed promises of delivery, my item had been made, problem with this that or the other to finally receive an email on the morning of the third arranged delivery - informing me the order had been cancelled. Absolutely fuming is an understatement. Spoke on the phone the whole way through, being told a pack of lies. There never was an order. Such a shame, I had high hopes because their photos look great, but read all reviews before parting with your hard earned money.
And when all is said and done, their response is to deny I was even a customer.
I have the emails, Facebook messages and bank transaction including refunded amount to prove it. You deserve less than one star for the treatment I received.

Very happy!

Today Dan and his team completed the design, deliver and build of the Willow 4 pod kennels.
Initially I was anxious about placing the order due to some of the negative reviews I had seen. I emailed Dan and he explained that a number of the complaints were vexatious. We agreed some bespoke options for our building and placed the order.
The first delivery date did slip... By 24h, due to an incorrect panel coming into their worshop from a supplier which delayed their build.
Communication was good and the second delivery date was met.
Dan and his team installed the kennels, they were very tidy workers and friendly with time to chat. At the end of 2 long days Dan still spent time to make sure we were absolutely happy. The canopy we had added is beautiful, beyond our expectations.
We are thrilled with the quality of the kennels and would have no hesitation in using Cherry Acres again.

UPDATE 4 MONTHS LATER.
❗️❗️WARNING. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY❗️❗️. After reporting leak issue to H, within 12 hours shes blocked all my message and I cant access their Fb page.... now what does that tell you? Guilty and running from their complaints/responsibility. NOW TAKING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM. please view my Instagram page to view the damage and the failure to deliver.

Roof is leaking badly, my poor ginuea are damp and moldgrowing on the roof of shed, the roof is absolutely saturated!!!!. Ive managed to cover shed in bubble wrap s thats all I had to hand. Thank god its holding up. im waiting for there response to replace it or il replace with compensation. The roof hasnt been installed correctly, Not enough over hang so water is coming in from front and both sides😭😭. Ive rang, messaged H and emailed. H did reply Monday saying she will pass in the info on but none of my message are now getting through since then. Will update when or if anything happens😭😭🤬🤬🤬🤬

The lodge is absolutely great. Well made with the extra changes I asked for. I took 1 star of for the 6 failed delivery attemps. H the owner then did communicate with me directly over delivery. I did get very worried after reading some bad review, that i may not ever receive it!! It did arrive 8 weeks after i placed the order. very quick to install with lovely delivery driver. be very patient with the delivery as it seems to take longer the further away from Kent you are. BUT IT WILL ARRIVE.

Friendly and Professional Service

We needed to arrange for a kennel and run in a hurry and Cherry Acres couldn't have done more for us. Their communication was first class and they delivered and installed the kennel in less than 2 weeks. We're thrilled with it. It looks fantastic - perfect for a large doberman- and the quality is great. Dan was so friendly and helpful and gave us really helpful advice. We would definitely recommend Cherry Acres.
