Cheshire Motor Car Sales - BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE Short story I bought a car & Steve assured me was serviced & checked fully by their workshop and I had a 14 day return option 'with full refund' as I am 200 miles away. I paid the £199 delivery charge and right away realised the clutch is very heavy (worn is my guess) sunroof doesn't work and lots of bodywork damage. I decided to try it out regardless - I have 14 days to decide but when I said sorry I want to return the car the tone changed immediately. You will need to drive it back to us AND we will charge you £1.50 per mile from the time you took delivery to return which by my estimation is £600 and they will charge an admin fee on top of that! Am happy to provide proof of correspondence (never ever told about the £1.50 pm to return that was hidden in my welcome pack and signed for as a delivery note) and adverts used. I will also update this with the final cost which I have asked for in writing.
Update 1. 21/5 So am am now getting no answers re charges so they can charge me what they want.
e-mail response;
Please refer back to the 14-day cooling off period form that you have. (I can return the car don't need a reason.) Told verbally I'd get a full refund.
We have a copy which you signed when the vehicle was delivered. (Never explained prior - just a delivery note - guy said about 6 words)
You will read all terms and conditions on the form. (Totally ambiguous, no clarity they can charge me what they want basically)

Beware of hidden problems!!

I would recommend getting cars independently checked if buying from here, bought a car from them last year and within 5 mins of leaving the garage the engine management light was on. Took it back to them and they had it for a day and all they must have done is reset the codes as it was back on again soon after leaving. Spoke to Steve who I dealt with, who said they’d need the car for a few days which at the time wasn’t possible as I’m not local to them. Booked it in with Steve for it’s it’s ‘free’ MOT with them and advised that that the light was still on, and he said they’d have a look as they were aware of the problem. When dropped off Steve isn’t there and whoever was in the office argued it wasn’t their fault and they’d wouldn’t be dealing with it and they’d get Steve to call me. Had the car three days, zero contact and still no Steve and car not even looked at.

Clearly this was a problem that was being hidden when I purchased the car, don’t let the friendly demeanour fool you as soon as they’ve had your money that will all change.

manipulate mileage counter

I bought a seat tokedo for £7000, they brought the car to me leaking water, the pump was broken and I got a traffic fine. Later I realised that they had manipulated the mileage, it showed 56,000 the same day I bought it, no previous miles and the car was 4 years old, it has given me a lot of problems because I bought a piece of junk.

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company. Purchased car online for my daughter last year which had been MOT by them.

within month had issues with battery, alternator, earthing strap, and 2 illegal tyres. They contributed toward the tyres after showing pics.

Just had car in for MOT and found that half the lights have been rabbit run, the electrics are a joke - the fuse box is showing years of rot and 3 different Auto electrics people have said its been patched together.
