High quality sofa, friendly staff!

Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. ordering was simple, delivery earlier than expected. Transport to Austria without problem, only coordination between forwarder and customer could be better, which is not the fault of Chesterfields.

Quality of sofa seems very good, and we are happy about the footstool that had been offered complimentarily during ordering process.

Top Quality Furniture and very friendly staff

Can't praise this company enough. Very easy ordering process. Staff can't do enough for you. Excellent range of fabrics to choose from. Delivery time was great and they worked around myself, which was very helpful. Sofa is very comfortable and has made my room look so much more complete

Really happy customers here

From start to finish the service has been excellent. Very simple online ordering process. I found it really useful to be able to order fabric samples as my wife and I were undecided between 2.

We are so happy with these 2 sofas we bought. They are incredibly comfortable, really well made and were delivered quickly without any issues.

They look the business and we've had quite a few compliments on them already.

Superb white leatger Chesterfields

Superb white leatger Chesterfields that look stunning in our home in Dordogne, worth having the 2 and 3 seaters sent over there. Very comfy and elegant, I added a few tartan cushions and the result is amazing, thanjs for efficiency and qyality!

Excellent Service

We are the happy owners of a Chesterfields sofa and chair.
I placed the order after reading lots of reviews from this and other sites.
Liz in the office couldn’t be more helpful, she was able to have the leather finished to our specifications and it is a superb match to our other furniture.
It was completed within the time frame we were given and I didn’t see any point in contacting them for updates, after all, it’s hand made furniture so I’d be a bit suspicious if it was ready a couple of weeks after I’d ordered it.
A problem free experience resulting in two beautiful pieces of furniture that will grace our home for many years to come.

Long Process but resolved by Chesterfield 1931- see update.

My partner and I bought a sofa from this company in September 2018,after taking our money, after no word of delivery date after 4 weeks, they inform us the fabric was out of stock... and tell us another 4 weeks. We wait and we’re given countless excuses as to why our sofa couldn’t be delivered. 15 weeks later, no sofa and countless excuses as to why we can’t get our money back! This is illegal and has completely RUINED Christmas for us. GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!

UPDATE: We have learnt that Chesterfield Ltd were the company we originally bought our sofa from who we are seeking a charge back from as they have not delivered on our purchase. However, Chesterfield 1931 have provided a replacement.

As much as we tried to avoid it, a restructure of the company was an essential part of our future success, and we are only sorry that not all company Directors have supported us in this restructure. However, we believe we did the right thing by honouring the order you made with Chesterfields Ltd and - at our own cost - supplied you with the sofa identical to the one you originally ordered, to the deadline it was ordered by. Feedback from yourselves tells me that you are very pleased with this sofa. That news is welcomed by all at Chesterfields 1931 Ltd and we hope that your Christmas is now as enjoyable as you wished it to be with your new sofa in place.

Lovely furniture, cannot recommend enough!

We ordered a new 3 piece suite from Chesterfields and couldn't be happier. The online ordering process was very straightforward and easy to complete.

Our furniture arrived on time and is of very high quality. We've been complimented on it by our guests several times!

Fantastic furniture and service

We ordered a four piece special, Sofa, Queen Anne Chair and Club Chair. The communication was great and the delivery team very friendly and professional.
The quality is fantastic, we could not be happier.
No hesitation in recommending to anyone.

More than disappointed!

We have had the worst experience with our sofas. The arrival of our sofa was supposed to be within 6-8 weeks but we had a delay and didn't get the actual sofa till 12 weeks after ordering! We were excited to get the delivery of our product and as soon as the sofa was delivered, I noticed an orange dust covering the sofa, I did mention this to the delivery man, but I thought, once I hoovered it, it would come off. How wrong was I? I spent hours hoovering it and this dust just didn't disappear and still hasn't. I emailed the company the morning after delivery! We then noticed that the seats would not align properly and we notified them of this too. Overall, I was so disappointed with this sofa as it didn't turn out the way I'd expected and overall, it looked very cheap. It took a few weeks for us to actually speak with the owner and he said we were not able to return these sofas. The sofas were not cheap and I expected something a little bit more robust and clean. The company never once offered to help out with our concerns. Overall, I have been left with sofas I cannot bear to look at!

Very pleased with our sofa and chairs

Very pleased with our sofa and chairs. the quality is good and they look as described on the website. 5 week lead time is acceptable compared to some other manufacturers. Access to our drive and house is tricky but the delivery guys were really helpful and accommodating.

Chesterfield Love

Quality item that my husband I both love! It looks great in our living room! I would definitely recommend purchasing from the company.
My only suggestion would be for better communication throughout the process - ordering to the delivery of the item.

Worth the short wait....

Our lounge has difficult access so we asked if the sofa could be made a little smaller ands this wasn't a problem for them, it just took a little longer than than the standard delivery time.
Special credit goes to their delivery guys who managed to get the sofa in without damaging our door frames!

Our 10-step Shipping to USA Experience…

Our 10-step Shipping to USA Experience with UK Chesterfields of England

Here’s our step by step experience shipping a 5 piece sofa to Florida:

Oct 25: paid invoice for sofa including $2,100 for “white glove delivery” that we requested
Nov 18: update email estimated “2nd week of Dec completion + 2 weeks shipping + 1 week in customs.”
Dec 16: response to our request for status: “2 weeks slippage”
Jan 5: response to our request for status: “passed everything to shippers who will be in contact“
Jan 10: response to our concern no shipper contact: “shipper says email sent previous day” (we never received). UK shipper “resent” email: ”have not yet picked up sofa but will be on ship in 5 to 7 days”
Jan 25: UK shipper update “leaving England Jan 28, arriving NY Feb 2” (Shipper missed Jan 28 date and did not ship until 2 weeks later. Among their many excuses: UK customs, bad weather in UK, port congestion in Europe, etc)
Feb 16: US shipper sent arrival in NY notice and $411 invoice (customs, filing, doc, toll fees).
Mar 2: received $100 invoice from British shipper for Marine insurance that we did not order
Mar 8: sofa ready for curbside delivery but US shipper will not bring into house and unpack. We paid $2,100 for “white glove service” at our request because we are in our 70s. We hired local workers for $150 which Chesterfields reimbursed.
Mar 12 Sofa delivered and unpacked. Each piece of sofa was wrapped in pliable cardboard secured by copious amounts of packing tape on a pallet.

Conclusions:

1) 138 days (20 weeks) from payment date to delivery
2) Cost more than $2,600 to ship to Florida while receiving far less than “white glove service”
3) If we knew the time, money, effort and frustration it would take to import the sofa, we never would have ordered the sofa from Chesterfields.

Maybe we were just unlucky

Maybe we were just unlucky. Received a sofa with a fault and from there on it has been a nightmare. Barely had the sofa in our house, sent back for repair, gone for 6 weeks and then returned without the fault being fixed. Have agreed a refund but now having to chase to get the cash actually returned.

Will never buy from them again.
