Really disappointing experience
Really disappointing experience. I went in to buy a 6-seater set priced at £999, only to be told that two chairs were missing. The staff offered a £200 discount, which we declined as we wanted the full set, and decided to come back later to see if new stock had arrived.
When we returned, there was still no new stock but what really surprised us was that the same set was now being advertised as a 4-seater, still priced at £999. That felt misleading and unfair.
Overall, poor communication and questionable pricing practices. I wouldn’t trust what’s being advertised here.

This company is a joke we ordered a glass cabinet and it took us emailing them for the to say that the order had got stuck in the system and we should have the unit in the next ten days we received it today and the unit is in poor condition with broken glass in the doors but as there is no number to call to make a complaint and after reviewing the comments on here I have decided to pay someone to come and fix it as I no doubt would have to wait far to long for these thief’s to reply avoid them at all costs

DO NOT order from this company. Ordered a coffee table on the 21st of March, payment went through and confirmation email received. When no contact was received from the delivery company I emailed them to be told unfortunately the item was now out of stock, apparently their warehouse computer was not in sinc with the on-line ordering system, they said they would refund my money that day and I should receive it within 3-7 days depending on my bank. Any way I still haven’t received the refund. I’ve emailed them several times and have also sent messages on their website messaging system. Finally last week I received an email advising me to ask my bank for a charge back as “they were having problems with their payment processing system accepting payments and processing refunds” I did email back and advise them that there is nothing on their website advising customers of this and in fact it would have let me place another order!!! I have left a negative review on the website but surprise surprise it hasn’t appeared hence this review. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

I ordered and paid for item, got confirmation of order. I’m trying to contact them for a delivery date but no response. Will not use again. Now after having my payment for one month they say item out of stock and no delivery date for stock. Now trying to get a refund.

I received an order of tv unit and small side table.
The wood on the front and back of the tv unit was damaged and the cupboard door attached at an angle, the rattan front insert was also on an angle.
My requests for collection and refund are being ignored.
Ordered the winchester bookcase
Ordered the winchester bookcase, only to find that the underside of the shelves have not been covered with an oak veneer, and you can see the knotty pine structural frame. Manufacturers won't do anything to rectify the problem. Very disappointed.
Believe they are selling items which are rejected by quality control

I am reporting a fraudulent transaction…
I am reporting a fraudulent transaction involving a company called Chiltern Oak Furniture.
On [22/1/25], I purchased two dining chairs from their website for £298.98, with a promised delivery time of three working days. However, after more than three weeks and multiple delays, I had still not received my order. I remained in contact with the company during this period, and they offered me a 10% discount as compensation, which I agreed to. However, this discount was never processed into my bank account.
Growing suspicious, I checked Trustpilot reviews for the company and found numerous reports from other customers stating they had been scammed. Since then, I have attempted to contact Chiltern Oak Furniture again, but they have stopped responding to my messages, particularly after I referenced the negative Trustpilot reviews.
As a result, I have initiated a chargeback request through my credit card provider and submitted a dispute form. I am now formally requesting a full refund, as it appears that this company is engaging in fraudulent practices.
Please advise on the next steps I should take. I appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Do not risk placing an order from this company
Order placed and paid for nearly 2 weeks ago. It was in stock and should have been delivered this week. Customer service is non existent- not answering emails or telephone. Do not risk ordering from this company!
Poor communication and Customer service
Poor communication. ordered two items on 2 January with items claimed to be in stock. The order confirmed by email but since then no delivery or despatch date offered despite numerous emails and attempts to telephone them but advised order stuck in system and sent to warehouse for picking. contacted the shop but told they are separate and cannot help. i have no idea where my items are or whether we will receive them. Customer service appalling and recommend to avoid making any purchases.
DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY
VERY POOR COMMUNICATION AND HAVE BEEN IGNORED. EMAILED AND FILLED OUT FORM TO BE CONTACTED BUT NO RESPONSE AND ALSO THE CONTACT NUMBER ON THE WEBSITE IS USELESS AS THEY STATE THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ONLINE ORDERS AND ARE VERY RUDE TO CUSTOMERS. THE ITEM WAS MEANT TO BE DELIVERED BUT WAS BROKEN AT THE WAREHOUSE SO THE COURIER DID NOT DELIVER, SECOND TIME THEY WERE MEANT TO DELIVER THE COURIER WROTE ON THE WEBSITE NIL STOCK NOT ABLE TO DELIVER. TRIED TO CONTACT COURIER AND CHILTERN OAK. HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE. NEXT STEPS WILL BE REPORTING TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES.
Very poor communication regarding availability issues
Placed an order on 31st December 24 for two items that were shown in stock (mini sideboard and corner TV unit) on sale prices. Payment taken for full amount and email order confirmation received stating that order was being prepared for delivery. Items were both showing as expected delivery 3-7th January at time of order. Order remained on the website showing as unfulfilled with no further contact received from company to explain or advise of delay. I emailed them today requesting details of when items would be despatched. Reply received stating that the sideboard was out of stock with no date for a restock. Had I not emailed them myself, I don’t believe that I would have received anything from them to advise me of a problem. They seemed to ignore the fact that all items were in stock at point of order and full payment taken and in my opinion, were happy to just sit on the order making no contact with me, safe in the knowledge that they already had my money.
The items online looked to be good quality however I cannot comment on that as I have now completely cancelled the order with them and requested a full refund which to their credit, has been issued immediately.
Their customer service in the event of problems prior to delivery needs to improve to avoid issues like mine occurring and the fact that you can’t contact them by phone (telephone number on website goes to one of their shops not the actual company), only by email, does not help and adds to any frustration. Accurate stock levels should be linked to the website too so that as soon as the last available particular item is sold, the website shows it clearly as out of stock. This experience has put me off using them again and I have now found alternative products elsewhere.
Bed side table ....
Placed an order for a bed side table on Christmas day and so far no update on delivery. Emailed sales team and have not had any response yet. Very poor customer service. Called shop, said they are a separate business.

Furniture delivered damaged and without parts needed for assembly weeks ago. Tried contacting email support six times with no response. Called shop to be told the online shop is responsible and there's no number for them and we should "keep emailing." AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Very dodgy.
Customer Communications needs to be improved
The two new dining chairs are great, and delivered one day later than expected.
Unfortunately, the customer support experience was not so great - when the delivery date was missed, no-one in the office answered the telephone or responded to emails.
Reading the negative reviews on Trustpilot filled me with horror, and I thought that we had lost our money. I therefore went out and bought two chairs locally for extra guests arriving at Christmas.
I was most surprised to see emails from Chiltern Oak Furniture the following morning to say that the chairs were on their way - they arrived by lunchtime!
We now have two chairs too many, but are thankful that all of our money has not been lost.
I appreciate that companies are busier than normal at Christmas, but improved communications with customers would really help the reputation of this business.
Despite this unfortunate experience, I repeat again that the chairs are great - which in reality is what matters most.
Takes money and doesn’t respond or deliver
Very, very disappointing experience. We placed an order on the 4th of December (two weeks ago) for an item that was showing “in stock” until a couple of days ago. We have also attempted to contact you numerous times over 10 unanswered phone calls - only reaching a full voicemail. You’ve taken our money, with no delivery date. I spent the last few days researching if your website was a scam. I’m still not sure. Yesterday we received an email telling us that you were sold out of the item we paid for 2 weeks ago. Shameful.

Avoid this company at all costs. Have been waiting for over two months for a piece of furniture. Customer services has outwardly lied about delivery dates….I think it’s a scam.
