Spectacular view and location superb. Hot tub a lovely way to chill out after a hard day paddle boarding.
Great hosts and perfect stepping off point for North Devon

Cottage was very clean and well equipped. It was ideally located and nice to have a garden to sit in. It was just what we needed for a relaxing few days.

Victoria cottage - Lovely cottage, perfect location in the heart of Croyde and 10 min walk to the beach. Private parking space right next to the house. Two bathrooms with showers - no bath as is advertised on some sites.
We had a bit of an ant infestation in the kitchen (not an issue, these things happen in summer!) but when we reported it, we were asked to deal with it ourselves - we had to use salt on the floor and soap all over the surfaces to try to deter them. It would have been useful if the manager had dealt with the nest properly, as it will continue to be a problem.

We found Orchard Cottage on Easter Saturday, booked and arrived on Easter Sunday! What a find, this quiet cottage is tucked away behind some shops on the main road into Braunton. Don't be alarmed when you arrive and see the narrow driveway next to the Chinese takeaway! I was apprehensive but then I saw the cottage and I was so pleased! The driveway is quite a squeeze so I recommend you check before attempting it. We managed it in my husband's Mazda 6 to give you an idea of car size. He's a good driver but I helped to spot him in!
The cottage itself is very nicely decorated, bright, cheerful and very clean. We had a lovely welcome basket of goodies on arrival which was a lovely touch. The cottage has a quiet, fairly private garden which must be fabulous on warm summer evenings (sadly we were a bit early in the year for this!)
Our beds were comfy, the kitchen was very functional, lovely rainfall shower, and a cosy room for the kids with 2 single beds. There was a cot and highchair in the cottage for those with younger children. Also a washing machine, dishwasher, ironing board, clothes airer, fridge freezer etc. Also some basics in the cupboards. The WiFi worked perfectly which was important as both myself and my husband had to do some work whilst there. The cottage has a lovely log burner which we didn't use as we were nice a snug. The kids loved the stash of board games.
I absolutely loved the patio doors opening out onto the garden and the peaceful feel of the cottage. It felt like a little haven in the lovely town of Braunton with all the shops, & restaurants we needed in walking distance. Saunton Sands is an easy 10 min drive and it's about 20 mins to our favourite, Croyde. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a perfect break in our beloved north Devon.

Just had a great weeks stay at Raphael in Ilfracombe. Booked it having read glowing reviews and was not disappointed.Great location with sea views and dedicated parking.
Clean and very comfortable accommodation.Really well equipped. Paul, the owner, was pleasant ,very helpful and had kindly laid on supplies of milk, coffee pods, biscuits, sweets, wine, beer and cider.

The property was clean and tidy on arrival, in a wonderful location for walkers and nature lovers. we were disappointed by the lack of information about local places to visit, and about the bin collections.
The bins were starting to get smelly. All together an enjoyable stay, could be improved.

A very well equipped and furnished property. Located in the centre of Croyde and close to all amenities. The beach is only a ten minute traffic-free walk away. Look forward to returning again.

We were really enjoying our stay at the Stable Yard Barn! We arrived on Saturday 10th September, we were allowed in early. This was very helpful as we had our dog Charlie with us. Unfortunately on the Tuesday 13th September we had a call from our neighbour, our house had been attempted to be broken into. Eastern European thieves! Their attempt was thawted by our neighbour. He is a Hero! We came home early and of course our experience was sadly stopped by these devils!

Superb, stylish spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment at Woody Bay, North Devon. Everything you need for a perfect stay. Comfortable mattress and pillows, lovely powerful hot showers, and a bath. Particularly appreciated the higher level toilets, which help my poor old knees. Smart TV, big dining table with gorgeous views. Well equipped kitchen. Responsive heating. Just absolutely perfect in every way. Choice Cottages were very helpful and responsive throughout.

The apartment at Woody Bay was beautifully furnished and decorated, with an amazing view. Our family had a great time using it as our base for the week.
The only challenge is that it’s not at all close to any shops, so be ready for that.
The only negatives were that the Internet/TV connection died about 10PM and that it was a bit musty in the back bedroom as the heating seemed below temperature there - perhaps it needed to be aired before we arrived as it improved through the week.

VERY IMPORTANT IF ADDING THE HOT TUB.....PLEASE READ TO ENSURE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO YOU OR YOUR LITTLE ONES!
We stayed in the below apartment 9th-16th July and it was a fantastic place, However it has now become apparent there was a major issue/concern with the Hot Tub provided in this apartment.
I went in the Hot tub on the Saturday we arrived for 5mins and sunday for about 10 mins and by the Monday I had huge blisters and sores all down in my private area! I have been in ALOT of other hot tubs so I just thought I was unlucky and had an allergic reaction to possibly the chemicals used in the hot tub. But as nobody else in the family had an issue I decided to just stay out of it for the rest of the holiday. The next day I started getting a strange rash on my body which again I thought was due to the use of the hot tub.I used some cream and it seemed to not spread but the next day it looked like little blisters and was very rough to touch. So I just again thought it was an allergic reaction to the hot tub! But nobody else had anything so just kept an eye on myself.
On the Tuesday my family went to go into the hot tub in the evening and as it was VERY hot all day and the temp was saying 43 degrees which was SO hot, baring in mind I have a 4yr old and 2 7yrs olds it was way to hot!.....So we messaged the owner the next day and she had confirmed she had already been to check the levels in the hot tub and noticed it was reading 43 so the pre set level was checked and it was set at 36. This pre set level did not change however it was a very hot day. We had recieved a card through the letter box confirming all levels had been checked, however, They would also pop in that night to re check things.....When she came she confirmed she had never seen the hot tub that hot before and to just keep the lid off for a while to see if the temp would drop (which it did after about an hour being off). This had to be done every day to keep the temp down in the hot tub...So from this point in our minds everything had been checked and everything was OK.
Since we have been home my daughter (7yr old) now has a rash and what looks like burnt skin around her private area and it is horrendous! She has blisters all over her vulva and she is in so much pain and cannot wee without excruciating pain!. She also has a swollen throat and very swollen glands, which again can be caused by using a poorly maintained hot tub!...My daughter has had to be prescribed anti biotics along with steriod creams and epimax to get this under control....Believe me when I say this has been an horrific situation to go through..I have also been prescribed steroid cream for the rashes and I am currently taking medicaton for the soreness all over my private area.
This is a very serious concern and I am dealing with alot of poorly people in my house due to this and none of the symptoms are easing at this moment in time. I have also been told if my daughter doesn't improve she needs to go to A&E.
We paid an additional £110 to enjoy a family hot tub but has resulted in my family being hurt a great deal!
I am very worried about myself and my child and this needs to be addressed incase it happens to anybody else as I am going through hell at this moment in time!
.....When I informed choice cottages of this they said they would look into this matter and get back to me with the results....After numerous calls and emails with no response my husband finally got through to someone for an update...It was stated to him that there were rules in relation to uising the hot tub and you do this at your own risk! Nothing in relation to daily checks being carried out to ensure correct PH levels ......I have had no apology and they have completely ignored my calls and mails up until today with the above response!
Please be careful when adding the hot tub onto this apartment as it is VERY POORLY MAINTAINED! My symptoms are still here and I have scaring from the rash and I am on alot of medication to get back to normal....
TERRIBLY HANDELED BY CHOICE COTTAGES
I hope it happens to nobody else!
Disappointing. We’ve used Choice Cottages quite a lot over recent years and they’ve always been good, however this is the first time we’ve had to complain and their customer services is really bad. The cottage (The Stables Georgeham) we booked had mouldy shower heads, tiles and shower cubicles - oh and dirt under the beds. Bunk beds that have mattresses on them that breach the rules because the mattresses are too deep (they aren’t original) so they sit at almost the same level at the top of the protective side bar - children could easily roll out of the top bunk and land on a tiled floor. I gave both the Owner and Choice Cottages the opportunity to make amends but they have ignored my emails. The only response I had from Choice was stating that it was the owners fault and not theirs and that they are just a booking agent. They won’t get another penny from us and I would never recommend others to use them.
