The pretty cottage at Georgeham…
The pretty cottage at Georgeham Whitehaven was clean, comfortable and perfect for our stay. It was well stocked with everything we needed. We had a very short journey to the delightful Putsborough beach each day. Thank you for a very enjoyable family holiday.

Good access to beach & shops etc, yet quiet. Good size rooms and amenities. Dedicated car park space in Woolacombe in a real bonus. We went in August so was busy. Our grandson loved the toys there.

The house is in an excellent location
The house is in an excellent location with just a ten minute walk to Croyde Bay and its beautiful sandy beaches and dunes. However Ridgeway is sadly in need of an interior revamp. The ground floor utility room with shower needs a good clean, especially above the shower where there are mould growths or dirt lines from the ceiling down. The only ventilation is the ceiling mounted extractor fan which is too small for purpose. The room smells very damp and we resorted to leaving the doors open to assist ventilation, which unfortunately led straight into the dining area. Hand and bath towels were provided and two of each had a mouldy smell about them and had to be washed before use.
The kitchen extractor fan filters needed cleaning as the unit was ineffectual and needed a good dusting over the canopy. The settee opposite the flat screen in the lounge has lost its springiness and was uncomfortable after a short time. All the opening windows need lubrication to work smoothly.
Lastly I found a hairline crack in the bathroom wash basin and reported it to the property manager on Wednesday the ninth August but she wasn't answering so I had to leave a message which was never replied to.
I feel the property is overly expensive for its current condition.

Relaxing comfortable break with a stunning view
We had the most wonderful relaxing time in this cosy lodge that adequately catered for 4 adults. Quiet, beautiful surroundings and a very comfortable bed. Lots of green space and an outdoor seating area made this a perfect getaway. We will be coming back.

CHOICE acts on behalf of the owner. The contract is facilitated between the guest and the owner and CHOICE has no jurisdiction over the the funds exchanged between guest and owner. CHOICE is the agent and does not have the authority to enforce refunds other than according to the legal compensations as entitled by the guest and determined and authorised by the owner.
This is above and beyond what the Terms and Conditions provided.

10 Cancellation Plan / Insurance
10.1 You will need to arrange a Cancellation Plan / Travel Insurance in order that all persons are covered under a Master Plan/ Policy in respect of death of a party member listed in the booking, serious illness or accident and summons for jury duty. Please note: Most Cancellation Insurance Policies will not cover you against deciding you do not want the holiday, or cannot afford it, or divorce, or move house, or cancellation due to a pre-existing illness from which you knew you were suffering when making the booking.
10.2 In the event of a cancellation for reasons not covered under Our Terms and Conditions and where you have not taken out a Cancellation Plan / Travel Insurance, we will make reasonable efforts to re-let the property (as we do with all cancellations) and if we succeed you will receive a refund. The refund will be the sum recovered by us through re-letting, less the Booking Deposit which will be assumed to be one third of the full letting tariff of the given days booked, plus other nominal fees such as credit card transaction fees and a £50 administration fee. (Note: If the holiday home is re-let for a discounted amount, your refund will be for the discounted rate at which the property was re-let minus the aforementioned costs.)
10.3 However, if we are unsuccessful in re-letting, you will be liable for the full cost of the letting. In any event, the balance of any monies due must be paid to us ten weeks before the start of the holiday in the usual way, unless you have already been informed that your claim has been accepted by Insurers or the property is re-let. If not, the balance will pursued through legal channels.
10.4 Cancellation should be notified by telephone as soon as possible and confirmed in writing or by email within seven days of the event leading to a cancellation. All cancellations will need to be done through your elected policy provider and Choice Cottages will charge a £50 administration fee plus VAT, which you will need to submit to your Insurance as part of your claim.
Lovely quaint cottage
A lovely, quaint, little cottage with everything provided to make it a perfect stay, with homely touches of real flowers and home made scones with clotted cream. Booking and communication was straight forward, making it easy to check in. The host lives next door and is on hand for anything you need. Would definitely recommend.

Whitehaven home from home + great TV
The websites photos and description of Whitehaven was accurate and in reality even better. The cottage was clean with fresh bedding and towels and nice touches like the soap bars and the welcome pack. Clear friendly messages from the owners was a nice touch and they included a free Putsborough beach pass which we used daily and was worth £12/day.
New TV had every channel and streaming service you could wish for. The kitchen has every utensil you could need. The oven excellent. We also used the washing machine and tumble dryer and the outside hose so useful to wash down wetsuits and body boards. A truly excellent holiday property. Recommend.

We stayed at Baywatch for a week 24th June 2023
What a lovely house. Well equipped with everything you can think of for a relaxing stay. It was only a 10 minute walk to the beach. We loved the hot tub
It was our first time using Choice Cottages as we usually stay at Ruda but after some bad experiences and having found this house we will no longer return.
We will be back to Baywatch. The customer service was first class even posting items back to us we forgot to pack to come home.

Refused to offer a full refund due to situation changing. Mother was diagnosed with cancer and unable to go on holiday, and doctors advised not to travel. Company gave partial refund which is not enough considering the overall cost of the holiday.
Law states that if the holiday was booked well in advance which this was and your situation changes, and have been advised not to travel by a healthcare professional then a full refund should be given. This has not happened!
